Looking at buying a Portland 2.5-Seater Sofa with Chaise, but I can't find any reviews. Has anyone bought it? thoughts?
I purchased the berlington 3 seats and two recliners . I purchased it because it was the exact brown I was looking for. When they delivered it, it was GREY. The store manager said that the colour changes depending on your lighting at home? What? This is not what I want and I would really appreciate it if this was rectified.
I'm wondering if anyone has purchased the aquilla 3 piece manual recliner leather lounge. Any information would be helping. Thank you.
Do you take away old recliner when you bring the new
Has anyone got the kade / kobe lounge? We ordered one and it’s so hard and not like the display on the floor. Did anyone’s soften up quite a bit ?
Yes I got a Kobe and the floor is more comfortable Contact Ncat and they will help it’s worth the trouble
I bought a recliner lounge (3 seater) at Harvey Norman Campbelltown just over 4 years ago and unfortunately the material is peeling in a relatively short life for such an expensive lounge set. I believe it's the future leather, the one that is not leather and advertised as more breathable and wearable. If this warrantable? It has not been mistreated (not damaged), has had been used for light usage for a recliner, and for the price of a high end recliner lounge I would not have expected this in this time frame. I can get the details of the lounge and look for receipts but is this lounge covered for things like this within 5 years? I have bought much through Harvey Norman so I hope they will stand behind their reputation of selling quality furniture.
Good luck. We have always patronised this store. Sorry to inform you but once the item is paid in full & in your home there's no customer service. We've been through customer service twice thus far. The best they will do is put you in touch with the supplier - then walk away...
Ok note taken thanks. No more purchasing furniture through Harvey Norman then
Hi, I’m having the same issue could you pm me as I’d like to chat about your lounge, I feel it’s unacceptable to have a leather lounge peel after a few years
same here, unbelievable. they say their genuine leather has 1 year warranty. after 2 years the coral bay suite, ($4800) started peeling. i also bought their care cover...they wouldn't replace it.
Do Harvey Narman remove old lounge sets if you buy a new one from them?
No Harvey Norman don't, but as most stores use independent delivery guys if you were wanting your current lounge delivered to another address, I'm sure for a price, most of the delivery guys would help you out, even if they had to come back after they finished their scheduled deliveries for that day. Not sure where you are but if you only want to get rid of your old one, our area have Giveaway Groups on Facebook. I'd try that, or a FB Sale Group if it's in good condition. If it's not most Councils offer up to 2 Kerbside collections so depending on the size you may be able to arrange for free pick-up from your Council, rather than having to dispose of it yourself. Hope this info helps.
Our Coral Bay 2 seater lounge cup holder light won’t turn off on one of the cups, can you advise how we can get it fixed? At the moment we are turning it off at the PowerPoint when not in use. Thanks Madge Morrison
Looking at the Leather KADE Lounge, but as we need it L Shaped to our particular requirements, with Electric Reclyners at each end of the L Shape. We have to specifically order the number of seats we require and according to the Sales Person, who was very helpful, will be paying 'a premium price' Anyone else buy this way? Any advice appreciated. He did say for the price we'd be paying it would be assembled when delivered.
Ours is 13 months old, the electrics are broken on the middle seat, and the left hand seat is now sagging.
I'm looking for reviews on the kade lounge. It's that the one you've had issues with?
I haven't had issues with it. I ordered one, but was originally asking for opinions and looking for reviews. But no one answered and we placed our order before Christmas, so expecting it sometime in the new year. Hoping it's as good as the salesman promised, as we're restricted by the shape of the room and the placement of double doors
I’m thinking of buying the Kade lounge. Very few reviews on it. Did you receive yours? Does anyone else have any feedback? Belinda C - just confirming yours was the Kade?
Hi we received our Kade Lounge Suite and the matching Reclyner last week. It's a lot firmer than I'd remembered it being in the Showroom, but as the booklet that came with it said, Showroom furniture has people trying it out etc so like a new pair of good shoes, expect it to feel firmer to start with, which makes sense. I love that the reclyners not only have the electronic foot control but also you can adjust the headrest with the other end of the button, which is awesome. Our older lounge was a more rounded design and therefore bulkier, whereas the Kade is a squarer design so it actually doesn't take up as much space and our room seems so much bigger, yet we actually have more seating because of the combination we chose. I wanted as much seating as possible. We have it in an L shape so the seats with the armrests are reclyners and then we have a separate reclyner as well which gives us plenty of seating. We ended up spending $10,500, but that included delivery and installation. And I feel it was money well spent for the amount of seating we got. One section of the L had to be shorter than the other, because of our double doors, so to get the extra seating I chose a larger width for the seat with the armrest on that side, then the armrest on the longer side has all the seats the normal width. I was worried it could look out of place, but it blends in well. So you can really play with the seat sizes to get the most benefit to fit your room. I chose to only have the end seats as reclyners, but you can have more. Also, because the headrests are adjustable, I found they don't take up as much room, when they go back, so you can have them closer to the wall, which again gives you more room. Even though we spent more than I'd initially intended, I'm really happy and feel I got good value for my money. The top and bottom of the lounge seats come in 2 pieces and are put together onsite, so not that it affected us, but if you have tight access to the room etc it makes it so much easier when they deliver them. The separate Reclyner was all one piece though. Hope this helps
Hey Kaz - just wondering how it was going after 4 months as we are looking to get a Kade ourselves...the review from Belinda was pretty crushing!
I have the same problem as one of the other posters in this group! The electrics are broken on the middle recliner of our Kade couch, this has happened 3 times now and its not even 2 years old!!! and the middle seat doesn't get much use! I WOULDNT recommend buying one. The manufacturer wipe their hands of you after 1 year saying it's out of warranty! I'm very upset! This was an expensive couch and now the middle recliner is stuck out and we have to pay someone to fix it AGAIN.
Hey there. How is the Kade? We got ours delivered and it’s hard as a brick. Not like the display one at all. Did your soften up at all ?
We brought one in June this year and it is very uncomfortable and very hard nothing like the one on display in store. Not happy with it at all.
I want to know if harvey norman bedding can dismantle and then set up my electric bed
Do you sell cushion covers for lounges
Looking for a new lounge. All these reviews very recent. Has there been any sort of customer service training ? does this store even care about customers. Reviews are scathing !!!! I am very reluctant to even look as this store based on reviews.
To be honest, because of the amount we were going to spend, to get exactly what we wanted I really looked into every store and read every Review. I researched for a couple of months, and found that all stores had mostly poor Reviews. Some of that was due to delivery times, but like everything COVID has caused longer waiting times. I think we ordered and paid our deposit in November and the salesman said it'd be January/February before our order would arrive. And we got the call in the beginning of February that they could deliver once we paid the remaining balance and let them know at least 24 hours before we wanted it. But they in no way pressured us to hurry up, we were told that it was entirely up to us as to when we paid and set a date for delivery. As with many items you rarely hear or read when people are happy. It's the unhappy ones who make the time to write a Review, so as I expected most stores had the same bad Reviews, length of delivery time once deposit was paid being the biggest complaint. I also read a lot of complaints that items were delivered but not put together, so I made sure it was printed on my initial order and receipt that my lounge was to be assembled and placed where I wanted and all packaging was to be removed by the delivery guys. The salesman assured me this was standard service, but I said having read Bad Reviews about delivery issues, meant I wanted it in writing, and he was happy to oblige. The delivery guys I had were fantastic, they placed the L shaped lounge exactly where I asked them too, but because it was a squarer design, my older one was bulkier as it was more rounded, so I found that once it was all set up, I still had a lot of room behind the lounge that wasn't needed, as the new style of reclyner doesn't need as much room as the older style. I was almost embarrassed to ask that it all be moved further down and then moved closer to one wall. But the guys could see exactly what I was thinking, and said it'd look better and give me more room if they moved it, but I was still left with enough room to put grandkids toys etc behind the lounge and the shorter wall, so they had it in the perfect position in no time. Even though we have only had it a short time I'm really happy with the value for money and service Harvey Norman gave us. And as I said they never pressured us to commit to the purchase initially, or to pay the balance and have it delivered once it was in their warehouse. It was all arranged according to what best suited us. Whereas I thought they'd be pushing for final payment and to get it out of their way as soon as it arrived, but they couldn't have given us better service. I know these large items are expensive, but if you take a good look at the stitching and construction of their display models, I think you can tell a lot about the quality of their items. I know it's tempting to buy from the many furniture warehouses that offer great deals, but I believe you get what you pay for, and while the initial cost of stores like Harvey Norman may seem really expensive, when you think of how much you use the items in your home and how long the expensive ones will last compared to the cheaper ones, I think it's worth it to pay the extra. Our old leather lounge suite is 17 years old and has been in our main Family Room that's used daily, including frequent visits from 4 grandkids who range from 16 to 1 year old and we are giving it to one of our family members as it's still in great condition, except for a couple of seams that are showing signs of wear, but considering how much they've been used, we definitely got value for money. Whereas a friend who bought from one of those Discount Warehouses had her 'leather lounge' bubbling and peeling within about 18 months even though she took good care of it. So if you want to have to rebuy every couple of years, the Discount Warehouses are an option. But if you want quality it's worth saving for the better quality. I know a lot of people say they'll buy the cheaper option while they have younger kids, but really the wear and tear of younger kids is even more reason you need the better quality as it can cope with the extra cleaning. Scotchguard if fabric and wipe up spills asap. And the cheaper ones deteriorate really quickly if they are near windows as they can't cope with sun damage. Next time you go into a Display Home that's been open for a while check out the backs of couches and fabric chairs, that are near windows, as they never close the curtains, and you'll be surprised. If the Discount ones are all that you can afford when starting out, just make sure to Scotchguard to help waterproof any fabric and use nice, inexpensive rugs and throws on the leather furniture to give it as much protection as possible, never go into debt for furniture, to try and match your new home, it's amazing what you can do with colourful throws etc to make the best of what you can afford, while you save for the better quality once you are in a better financial position. Or try Garage Sales, especially in nice areas, where people often sell awesome furniture because they are down sizing and just don't have room for furniture that often has hardly been used. Either way, make your home a place you can relax and enjoy, not a showpiece where people are afraid to touch anything for fear of breaking something. It's lovely to have nice things, but it's even better to have a happy home where family can gather.
Have just received a new Coral Bay 3 seater recliner just wondering how do we get instruction book for different reclining positions. Thanks
Google the Brand and style and if you're not able to find anything, ring the store and ask them for the information you need. Often they'll have a Booklet for all the different styles etc they stock, and a good Salesperson will offer, or you may need to ask, to photocopy the relevant information for you.
I bought the storm corner sofa last year I want to remove the section with the cup holders, how do I seperate the sections please and thank you
Most lounge suites and sofas that you can buy in different configurations have metal clips that slot into each other near the front and back of the side of each section, but be careful as some come in a two seater combination that doesn't separate. Just try lifting the section apart, if you have one person at the front and one at the back and you both lift up with your hands underneath the section you'll be able to tell if it has any 'give' So it's just a matter of lifting up about 3 inches, and then you just need to do the opposite when putting it back together. But be careful because, as I said, some of the seats are a combined or connected 2 seater, so aren't able to be separated. Good luck
Bought a Bradford lounge set and it is too big to fit through my lounge room door way while it is together. My question is, do they come apart and how if so?
We've just had a Cambridge bedroom suite delivered from Harvey Norman but cannot find a way to put the bed together. Any tips would be appreciated.
Often they have the instruction Booklet in a plastic Pocket taped or stapled underneath the bed base or behind the Bed Head. If you can't find it either contact the store and say it didn't come with the instructions, and they may have a brochure they can at least photocopy for you. But it really should have come with Assembly Instructions or you can Google the Style and Brand and the information should be there. I always insist that the price I pay includes delivery, assembly and removal of any packaging. And I make sure this is printed on my Order, and initial Receipt. If they try to say the delivery guys can't do it I say I'll buy from another store. I've even had a Salesman say he'll come to my home on the day it's delivered after he finishes work and assemble it, they don't want to lose a sale, especially if they haven't reached their quota or anticipated commission that month. But always get it in writing.
Whitehaven 3 seater theatre lounge
Hi, how do you turn off the controller lights in the cup holder when the lounge is not in use?
I would love to know this also?
I want to know too
Bought a couch from Harvey Norman and was quoted 16 weeks due to corona virus. This is understandable and fair and one would think as they stated this that delays due to covid would have been factored into the 16 week delivery time. After following up multiple times i have been advised that it has been delayed another 6-7 weeks which would have impacted by decision to purchase the couch in the first place as waiting half a year for a couch would have been out of the question. Speaking with the store they have advised that a cancellation fee still applies. What is considered a reasonable amount of time before one can cancel or obtain a refund without the cancellation fee, I cannot find it in their T & C's.
i cant find it in the terms & conditions also so i simply contacted harvey norman customer service by phone & asked them
i also have waited for a bespoke table ...it says on my receipt a 20% of full price.cancellation fee will apply
Speak to customer relations after calling. If it's beyond a reasonable time you are able to have them waive it and cancel.
Hi Justin Can I understand what the resolution of this was? We too have been waiting 6months for a bed - which upon purchase was told 8-10weeks. No proactive communication has ever been made from HN, and each time I’ve chased and called to be told covid has pushed out delivery being a Melbourne based manufacturer. We are beefing on 6months and with the additional lockdown this month I’m awaiting a further delay. I want to understand my rights to cancel and refund as like you would never of purchaed had this risk been communicated or even if HN had been proactive with managing my expectation on delivery. Seems highly unfair and legal to keep 20% of total purchase for waiting 6months for a purchase made instate
I have a delle lou recliner lounge. The recliner mechanism's wire is broken in one of the chairs. I can get a new one, but I need to know the length of the cable that is needed. Is it possoble to find out the length as the original (broken) one is in pieces and some bits could be missing. Thankyou.

Not familiar with this product, but I would not deal with Harvey Norman, as any spoken warranties are just that. Spoken about only. Shop online is good advice. G.T.
