I bought this with great expectations, if you can make a toasty in a pan, this purpose built appliance must be batter right? Wrong. Flat bottom… Read more

(GOOD) ribbed top (BAD) it heats up really quickly but still doesn't toast the bread nicely, irrespective how much butter you spread on the outside. Then to top it off, I stupidly dropped it and the handle broke. Despite having bought it a few months earlier, I find out it's OBSOLETE and NO spares available. And don't try and talk to Sunbeam, they only want your money. Had it not been for the obsolescence I'd give it a 3 STAR rating. Off to buy a Breville.

the instructions carefully ensuring a 1/2 cup of filling (or a little more) and ensuring the filling was not too wet. The pastry is crisp on the bottom and the top (see photos) and is a lovely brown even without egg wash. As we can control the mixture we are eating better then what comes from the supermarket.

There are a few missing features like a on/off switch and the lid clasp could be a bit more robust but for the price we are still very happy with our new pie maker.

The Sunbeam Kyoto Kettle and Toaster range is aesthetically appealing and positioned as a premium offering. However, the overall build quality does… Read more

not align with its price point.

The kettle raises safety concerns. On several occasions, the lid has unexpectedly popped open during boiling. If left unattended, the kettle continues to boil until manually switched off or the lid is closed. This appears to be from the lid’s construction, primarily plastic, including the latch, with a painted finish rather than aluminium on the exterior.

Additionally, the lower section of the handle, which is covered by a plastic casing, has expanded and detached. It will become impossible to refit properly. Since then, the kettle has begun leaking water onto the power base, presenting a clear safety hazard.

As for the toaster, while I have not experienced any functional defects, it feels relatively cheap in construction. The top surface is not aluminium but a painted, heat-resistant finish that is prone to discolouration and can't be easily cleaned.

After just over a year of use, the longevity of both appliances appears questionable. Given the recurring feedback online regarding lid failures and leakage issues, it is surprising that Sunbeam has not issued a recall or formally addressed these concerns.

Purchase online via Myers in September 2024 - I'm not expecting them to provide any solutions based on previous reviews.

drawer slides in and the frame sits around the seal. It broke away in a few pieces, and it actually part of the body of the air fryer, so can’t be fixed or parts replaced. We contacted Sunbeam about this, as we felt that for the actually body of the air fryer to break after just 18 months (and a cost of $350), this shouldn’t happen. You wouldn’t expect a microwave or other appliance at the same value to break at this age either. Sunbeam just came back to us and said ‘apologies but it is out of the 1 year warranty, so there isn’t anything they can do’. So disappointed as we researched a lot before choosing this one, and feel really let down by the unfixable damage and no offer of any resolution.

different. Powerful steamer. Easy to use and clean.

I bought mine in 2021 and it's still going strong in 2026. Very powerful in comparison to my friends bigger, more expensive, more featured breville. He's actually a little jealous of mine, additionally, his broke beyond repair that was worthy $ wise. So I have used both machines many times and can make a reasonable comparison.

Compact size, doesnt take up too much space. All the features needed - i didnt want the extras of pressure guage etc.

Downsides are: - only comes with one jug size. - noise when steaming milk. It's very loud and it is a big negative. - making a 2 cup has for 5 years been an inconsistent drip so I make all individually. - didn't come with a knock box, that's unfortunately normal - aesthetics starting to wear away from wiping.

Keep up the maintenance, it's definitely paid for itself and I'd buy another one.

reviews I’d read before replacing it. That said, I was genuinely happy with that machine. The coffee was always good, and getting five years out of it felt reasonable.

Because of that positive experience, I decided to stick with Sunbeam for my upgrade, and I’m really glad I did. The improvements are noticeable straight away. The sunbeam origins classic grinder is much faster, there’s far less mess, and the auto grind setting makes everything more convenient.

Overall, I was already satisfied with my previous machine, but this upgrade has definitely been worth it.

for 4 in it too easily like most air fryers, but great for certain things for sure

Only issue i have is if you use two trays at once the top one chars and the bottom one doesnt cook through at all so heat circulation is clearly not up to scratch in air fry mode. Make sure you swap tray position mid way through to avoid this.

Very happy with my purchase after several months

Wish it was easier to get extra trays so you can cook 2 full trays or two full wire baskets etc. they do via one warehouse and they are terrible with communication if something isnt in stock

another one and ended up with an origins dual espresso machine. Out of the box, it appears nowhere near as heavy a build as the 6910, plastic parts against brass. Very simple instructions, for the most part, correct. Two things missing are a pressure gauge(helpful)and a milk temperature gauge (essential), obviously left off to reduce cost. Instructions state grind size dictates shot time, I set the grind at #21 and the shot time was 17 seconds. Trying to gauge milk temperature by hand is rubbish. Buy a milk thermometer, no guesswork needed. Beans were Aldi Luxe blend, at $30kg, excellent value and quality. From the first cup, really good crema, sweet coffee, velvet milk, at the right temperature. Very satisfying. M/C longevity? One of the reasons I didn't buy Breville, I'd love to give an update down the track that is as positive as now.

shattered. See pic.

First time this happened was not long after the grinder was out of warranty. After a plethora of email ping pong with Sunbeam (lack of) Service they finally relented & sent me a replacement under the ACCC rules.

This time I can’t be bothered going through that process again.

Other problems with this coffee grinder are as others have reported: *Grinds get caught in the bend resulting in an uneven distribution, & grinds are left behind in between grinds which can potentially become stale. *Coffee grinds exit the shute in a spray resulting in a mess on the bench top.

So it’s goodbye Sunbeam - unless you read this & wish to make amends, again.

<edit> The other two pics are for Sunbeam’s reference. It’s the first thing they ask for if they choose to make enquiries.

I don't know if ours was just a dud (although I notice a lot of the reviews complain about the noise), but ours emitted an excruciating high pitched whine when it was in the lower power settings (spare a thought for any dogs in the neighbourhood). So much, so that I would never use it at any setting that produced it and I cringed every time it was brought out.

Most recently when we turn it off after use, it has this electrical crackling sound (like it's sparking inside). I reached out to Sunbeam and after harvesting all my information and reviewing for a few days they didn't want to know about it as it was out of the 12 month warranty period.

For the cost I would not purchase this again: 1. Had I known about the noise, I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place, and 2. Given Sunbeam's lack of interest in the product fault, I can't say I would purchase another one of their products.

Doubts over how long it will last – Purchased from Harvey Norman 18 months ago. Used to make 2 cups a day and was fine until alarming mechanical noises when pour should have commenced… Read more

followed by lack of pressure and ‘pulsing’ noises. Originally this was a ’special price offer by HN ($445) and we took out ‘Product Care’ for an extra $80 – not worth it, but more about that elsewhere. This model is discontinued but the same HN still had 2 in stock, at $749. Now here’s the rub. If you accept a refund, you only get $445 – the’ good deal’ only applies to the initial purchase, the terms don’t carry over and apply to any future problem resolution. BUT Australian consumer protection law makes it plain that the the purchaser is entitled to a replacement if the identical model is available (which it was) if it is a major, as opposed to a minor fault. A major fault is something that cannot be fixed in a reasonable time, something that, had you known about it, you wouldn’t have purchased the item in the first place. It took 70 minutes of escalating argument with HN before I left, with a new machine, at no cost. Short of the thing exploding into flames, I cannot imagine what could be more major than a sudden loud rattling noise followed by a failure to produce pressure to make coffee. There’s a heater in there, and a pressure pump, controlled by chips on a motherboard. How long – and at what cost -would that take to investigate and repair? I now have a replacement. I’ve read that others have had a similar fail after just 18 months (coffee makers have an average life of around 10 years. I’m not particularly happy – I personally would have elected to choose another brand. I’m livid with the time spent arguing for my legal rights with Harvey Norman at Garden City. How many people accept a store’s incorrect, and illegal, interpretation of what protection is guaranteed by national consumer legislation? It will be interesting to see what the response will be from ACCC.

is probably better to make iced coffee. Would be good if the sprout is adjustable for making hot coffee to avoid splashing as it is too high for a normal mug. The milk frother tends to get burnt at the bottom so need to give it a scrub when cleaning, not a quick sponge wipe. I have not put the filter in the dishwasher yet so cannot comment on that. It's low maintenance in terms of cleaning and good for the price.

was the main reason for me to upgrade to 12:1. We ordered through Mitch’s and Brown in Geraldton.

We worked on a minesite so the usage of the 12 and 1 is 24 hrs and with so many team members on both day and night shift, we have opportunities to fully test this oven. More often than not we don’t clean the oven, basically we just cover the bottom tray with foil and that about it. The window cleaning is easy, just a wipe with detergent.

The last three days of using the 12 and 1 appeared to be easy to clean. I did notice we need to do the preheat or prime the oven few time a before the smoke and a Lee go away. After that the was good to use. The digital readout is easy to see and navigate, I did not like turning the dial from the previous oven

The noise factor on air fryer is much quieter, and I do noticed the unit provide a much better heating. So far we only used two main function: air fryer for cooking chips and sausage rolls, and the is pizza.

The light function is definitely good and must for all mini oven. Overall it a nice compact oven and if it built like the last oven; which I already can tell it is. Then this one will last for a few years.

The seal is notably good, one lasted me 4 years. The pot is great, but it's non stick so don't scratch it.

The pressure vent can get jammed with foam from things, notably some legumes. You can put a drop of oil in it like you would pasta water to reduce foaming, and it also helps not to release the pressure early in these cases. At worst, throw a tea towel over it before venting.... if you really had to.

Can you use it to pressure can? I wouldn't, but yea you could.
