hours and c) the parent unit randomly turning itself off at night when plugged into the mains - sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after just 20 minutes. We replaced the battery with a new one and it made no difference to any of these issues at all. All in all, a very flawed and ultimately useless product. We replaced it with a Uniden BW2511 for the same price and it's a night and day difference in reliability and quality.

Contacted vtech, no responsibility on this product being faulty post clearly reading a lot of reviews.

on the monitor unit. Isn't loud enough to wake you if your child leaves their bedroom. Mobile app Notification only works sometimes. Sometimes notification comes through 15-20 minutes after movement or sound detection. Same result when tried on my wife's phone. Only one parent can sign into app. Contacted support. Seems like it is how it is. At $459 for 2 camera option it's rather expensive for something that can't be relied upon. We have a special needs child who we've found wandering throughout the house in the dark because this camera alarm/alert is too soft to wake us. I don't live near the retailer where I purchased this from, so I asked for vtech for a refund as product is not fit for purpose. Also happy to exchange for a better product. I received no response.

handset is very poor quality which makes it difficult to hear when using it. This is old technology so it really should be better quality.

While the phone book in the phone has picked up the contacts from my iPhone, the results are pretty random.

It's odd that the phone doesn't allow the name of the handset to be changed. Odd because this is old technology and that functionality has existed for a long time.

If I was fully reliant on this phone I would return it but as it is only a backup to my mobile, I'll keep. It only cost $34 and you get what you pay for!

daughter, I know they suggest you keep the baby in the room with you for the first few months but I could not sleep with her in my room any longer because every little sound my daughter made it would wake me up when I really needed to sleep. After doing research, I had this baby monitor suggested to me because it was perfect for what I needed. The key feature that I love is the ability to filter the sounds the monitor picks up from baby. As any parent would know, some baby monitors just pick up any noise the baby makes. But This baby monitor allows you to control what level of noise you hear through the parents device. So if your baby is just making little noises it doesn’t pick it up but when it gets to a certain level of noise it goes off on the parent device. This made me so relieved when I placed my daughter in her own room, because I had complete control over what noises I heard from her throughout the night.

The other feature I love is the ability to play music or sounds through the baby device in my daughters room. My daughter is a light sleeper so noises wake her up easily but when I play music it helps to create white noise while she sleeps and blocks out any noises going on around the house. You can also choose to have the monitor play the sound of a tv, grasshoppers, waves or a heartbeat.

This device also has multiple other functions that are useful. You can change it to notify you when it gets too hot or cold in baby’s room. As it constantly reads the temperature of the baby’s room and will display the temperature of the room on the monitor. You can change it To vibrate when the monitor picks up noise. It also doesn’t require wifi to connect, which was a big selling point for me as I don’t like baby monitors that require wifi. The night mode on the camera is really good, you can still see Bub clearly and picks up images in the dark pretty well. It gives you the option to add extra cameras to the one parent monitor, I currently only have the one bear camera in my daughters room but it allows you to add more cameras if you have more than one young child you need to keep an eye on. The bear camera can move up and down. And the owl version can scan the room. That comes down to personal preference.

The only thing I don’t like about this monitor is the Battery in the parents monitor Isn’t that great at holding charge. It can’t be off charge for too long or It goes flat pretty quickly.

I paid $190 for the device and it is really worth the price. Would highly recommend to anyone that needs a new baby monitor. Over 12 months later after buying it I’m still using the same monitor and it’s still doing a superb job.

in the room goes over that but when you set a minimum temperature, it won’t let you set it higher than 20 degrees which as annoying because where I live it can be pretty darn hot when bub goes to sleep but then drop down to mid temps wheee I would love to be alerted so I can turn down the fan or sneak in a put an extra layer on bub. Other than that no complaints but as I bought it specifically to use the receiving my temperature anxieties, I find this flaw particularly annoying. It has lullabies, the white noise is not just a continuous loop, it pauses which is annoying so we don’t use the lullabies at all. Also the “Reset” button is a pin whole that you can not press, because it’s the size of a pin it didn’t come with anything to use and a pin doesn’t press it it just pokes a whole I’m it.it has very good video and audio quality and th rest of the alerts are great.

Is really bright and colourful and makes lots of noise (which babies abd kids love). Teaches colours, numbers and animals. Can be used in either sitting or standing modes, so it grows with the child. The voices and sounds can get a bit annoying after a while for Mum and Dad.

worse than the old model!

Mobile app: The model we previously brought was the best model we could buy at the time, a RM901HD. We wanted to add a second camera and we were very happy that the vtech mobile app allowed you to add multiple cameras that you could view at the same time. Unfortunately the RM901HD was no longer available, so we brought the best model now available to us (the RM5764HDv2). We are really disappointed in our purchase. The new camera is not compatible with the old vtech mobile app as they have developed a new app (which they have not made compatible with the old models). We now have the 2 most expensive models we could buy at the time (12-months apart), which we have to go to different apps to view.

Parent unit: The new parent unit looks very modern, but there are features that are worse than the old models. There is an obnoxious LED light that lights up with motion/sound that you cannot turn off. Therefore, if someone goes in to settle baby, the LED light is still flashing away (which is not helpful when you're overtired and trying to sleep at night). The old model had a small LED to show that the parent unit was on mute. This was helpful to see when you have the screen turned off in the middle of the night (especially when you want to be quickly reassured that you haven't muted it). The stand has also been downgraded (previously allowed you to tilt at different angles, where now you can't). The navigation also flows worse.

App: There are also features in the new app that are worse than the old version. Previously you did not need to grant the app permission to your camera roll to enable you to save photos and videos, whereas now you do. You also cannot pin the menu open which can make it more difficult to open.

We are most disappointed that it is not clear that the new models and old models are not compatible together. We contacted vtech support and they said there was nothing they could do. We hope they make the old models compatible with the new app so that we can at least view both cameras at the same time without having to choose which one to view.

not as good as I was hoping. Have had for less than a year and one of the two handsets had to be replaced as 3 of buttons stopped responding when pressed, Vtech however did replace in quick time. Sound quality is ok but loud Speaker is needed for the elderly person it was intended for. Often when you call out the call has started as it shows the elapsed time but it has not connected.....this happens a lot and you have to hang up and redial. The large buttons are helpful but often do not respond when pressed so it has to be a very deliberate press of the finger. The large Quick Dial buttons are useful and do work well, so you can have 4 preset at any time with accomodation for a photo if needed. Message machine works well but does not have a beep sound when you have an unanswered message, just a small intermittent light. This phone is recommended for the elderly and hard of hearing but I think it falls down on a few basic requirements if that is the target market. I would probably look elsewhere if I needed to replace.

BARELY hear this, which is really really disappointing. The sound/music that comes from the speaker is as quiet as a mouse and is even drowned out by every day noise. When the kids speak normally into the mic, it barely echoes their voice. The buttons seem like they dont work when pressed, maybe this is a battery issue which is also terrible as it hasn't even been a month since we opened it and it has not been used much. My 7yo daughter still likes it, but this is no karaoke machine. This is more like cheap toy for a toddler to feel like they are performing. I am SO disappointed I spent $80 on this for such terrible quality, especially as we have had many Vtech toys over the years which have been of great quality. If I could say something positive the only thing would be the disco ball... which doesn't even actually move. Will definately have to buy her another kareoke machine and unfortunately I'll be thinking twice about buying Vtech toys again.

Telstra tech out. The symptom was a weird crackling sound that people making incoming calls heard, while on my side no ring, nothing. Swapped out the phone with a Uniden and problem disappeared.

During the time I had it, the Vtech also caused numerous problems on the line when the batteries inside the unit ran down, which happens without any warning. The first you know of it is when people tell you they cannot call your phone, no answer.

My advice is only to buy landline phones from recognised brands like Uniden and Oricom.

This unit was a waste of $25.
