doesn’t drink in the car on long drives), mould will quickly develop and spread inside the chair. The materials used make it almost impossible to clean properly, so the issue persists. Britax has declined to take responsibility for the poor material choice and instead offered replacement inserts for $50 AUD (for our two chairs).

receptacle on our Tesla Model 3. We found a narrower seat for this car (Maxi Cosi Rodi) and continue to use the Britax in a bigger car.
Our 5yo struggled with the anti-submarining buckle at first, but quickly got the hang of it. He finds it very comfortable and especially loves the pull-out cupholders.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to send us your review. Kind Regards the Britax team.

month old baby was asleep in the seat. I looked in the mirror and noticed she was falling out of the seat over into the middle backseat. I could see the back of her head bent over her body and freaked out. I had to pull over to on the motorway to check on her and noticed the buckle was undone on one side. I fastened it again and then continued driving. I stopped 15 minutes later to check on her because I was so stressed and the buckle was undone again! It was working fine when I did it up both times. We checked it is locking in and fastening correctly yet it was spontaneously opening. I called the manufacturer for advice and they said sand, food, dirt, fluff can get in the buckle and stop it from working and to clean it out with water. I told them there is no way any of this is in the buckle the baby is 6 months old and does not go to the beach or play in dirt, or eat food in the seat. They said in hindsight yes it is not likely and said it must be faulty and to send it back so they can review it. I told them I am sending both seats back, I don’t want them and do not trust that they are safe. The britax customer service rep said in all her years of working there she can count on her hand how many times this has happened, and to keep the second seat because its statistically not likely to be faulty as well. I asked my mum friends if this has happened to any of them and they confirmed it happened to their capsule too which is the same brand. The britax rep in store was rude and unhelpful, didn’t apologise on behalf of the company and suggested I mustn’t have fastened the seatbelt right despite using it for 6 months with no issue, even though Britax customer service admitted they have seen this before and Baby Bunting had said they had seen it once too. Baby bunting refunded both seats, britax would not. Britax were absolutely shocking. We now use maxi cosi.

any much side-impact head protection compared to the other Britax models? His head is entirely self-supported in the seat and he can tilt his head from side to side very far, which I feel would cause a neck injury if the car was hit from the side. I am considering purchasing a different brand seat with more side cushioning.

the seat.
I started using this seat when my son was 2.5 months old and switched from a Maxicosi capsule type seat. My son used to cry when I put him in the Maxicosi capsule because he would be quite squished - I would clip him in and then have to race to start the car because he would burst into tears. However in this seat my son has more room and looks more comfortable (although still looks very secure). He doesn't immediately protest being in this seat and can be in the car stationary in this seat comfortably without beginning to cry.
The SICT feature adds additional crash protection that my previous seat did not have this has been good piece of mind for me as safety is my number one priority for carseats.
The design is nice and the material is nice quality - I don't ever feel like my son is too hot. It also has clips to keep the belt out of the way when I am loading my son into the seat which seems like a small thing but for me has been a game changer as Im not fussing around aggravating my son looking for the belt buckles underneath him.
Obviously this product is not a capsule and so doesn't have the clip in and out car/pram functionality (the plus side being it is convertible so will last longer than the capsule I previously had would have), I personally am happy to forgo the capsule clip in/out functionality, as my son was so uncomfortable in his capsule seat I couldn't leave him in it to use it with my pram anyway.
Overall I am very happy with this product and would happily recommend it.

freedom of being able to move it from car to car with ease using the ifix technology makes this seat the best in the market. My daughter has been using it from birth, she is now 9 months, it's grown with her and she absolutely loves going in the car, she looks so comfy in it and seems very well supported. It's great that it can see her through from birth up to 4 years. An investment that is well worth it - our babies are so precious, this seat has them protected in all ways.

use one anymore. I chose this one, as being for a Ute it’s much easier to remove when not needed being an untethered seat, and thought now she is 8 it should be fine. However at every corner the seat tips. I have a spare travel booster (also untethered) in our main car for when she has friends over that folds up, and that one is actually way better. I wish I would have just purchased another one of those, it would have save me $50 as well!!

Love this car seat! – This car seat is great for our little man as he's a big and tall baby (95th percentile) and outgrew his capsule at 4 months. Why we love it: - Big,… Read more
roomy and comfortable with plenty of space for a growing baby - Extended rearward facing configuration so baby can stay facing the rear for longer which is the safest position for baby - Super easy to install ourselves using the seatbelts, so we have no qualms about having to remove the car seat when we need the extra space, then re-installing the car seat again when we are done. No need for Isofix in cars.
Things to watch out for: - This is a large car seat, possibly one of the biggest in it's class, so make sure it fits in your car before purchasing. We have a Honda CRV, so it fits in our car and I still have ample leg space in the front passenger seat (I'm 165cm tall) - On the pricier side, and one of (if not) the most expensive car seats available at time of purchase - You may need to buy an extension to secure the top tether hook as the car seat will not be secure otherwise. We needed this for our car and was thankful we bought and fitted the car seat in store so we didn't have to try installing this at home, only to find that we needed extra parts that are not supplied to secure it. At this price, this should come standard.
Improvements: - I wish this car seat has little magnets on the side to keep the harness buckles in place when putting baby in and out of the car seat.

can install properly and move between cars. It really 'locks' into position in the car and feels very secure. Our 2 year old son seems very comfortable sitting in this car seat. It has plenty of padding (but not excessive), It is also easy to adjust, and easy to wipe clean. In short, I strongly recommend this car seat as a practical and safe option for children.
