is the problem it won't pick up all channels only those in the 70's region (it did in its first 6 months pick up all) it's not my aerial as an existing lounge room TV works on the same aerial in both locations looks like I got sucked in on the cheap price now I can't find the receipt to return. Aldi used to sell good stuff not any more standards have dropped.

have purchased and installed the BAUHN 70" TV, Model ATV70UHDT (28/01/2026). It is replacing a faulty 6 year old TCL 65P8S. I was considering buying another TCL 65" TV, anywhere from the lower range C6K (~$1K) to the mid-tier C7K ($1,500AUD) to the higher level C8K (~$2,000). I decided to give the ALDI BAUHN a go, thinking that for $500 it was definitely worth a shot... and I have 60 days to obatin a refund if I am not "entirely satiisfied" with it.

After nearly two months I am very impressed and will not be returning it for a reefund. The picture quality is very good straight out of the box. The TV is in my lounge, but during the daytime when watching TV I close all the curtains, so while the room is not "dark", there is ambient light from an adjoining room. The picture is very bright and clear and not washed out.

In various online screen tests (YouTunbe) the results are very good. A standard black screen uniformity (various white objects on a black background) test shows very little bleed from the white object to the black background. When the screen displays a rotating white rectangle on a black ground I saw slight tearing along the edges (the edge did not remain clear and sharp) as the TV struggled to keep up, but this was minor and I have noticed no such thing aberrations during regular viewing.

Grid tests shows all horizontal and vertical lines are straight with no distortion. There is minimal subtle blooming. In the subtitle motion display test, the words were blurry and although I could still easily read he words, the words were not clear and sharp as they moved from right to left across the screen (such as happens in news segments). Despite this I have not noticed this in any real time viewing, i.e. subtitles are sharp and clear (I always have subtitles if available as I have hearing loss (not totally deaf, deaf in one eary and hearing loss in the other).

In the dirty screen test of white, grey and colours (red, green, royal blue, light blue, yellow and pink), there is a minor/dirty screen effect across the whole screen, more visible on both vertical edges. But once again in real world viewing I have not noticed this at all.

The sound quality is also acceptable/good from the standard speakers. I found them loud enough and not distorted, although as stated previously, I have hearing loss. And having said that, the quality of the TVs speakers does not matter in my circumstances as I have connected the TV via Toslink to my Yamaha Home Theatre system (two floor speakers, two shelf speakers, a centre speaker and a sub-woofer).

The Tizen OS is good with many options, it is quite polished and has the Apps that I will ever use (e.g. Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, ABC iview, SBS on Demand, and the Free-to-Air stations).

I find the remote control annoying to use with the smooth wheel (as opposed to the remote being all buttons), but I am getting better at using it, so practice makes perfect.

I have had the TV for a month and have spent many hours watching movies, sports and playing Xbox games and I am very happy with the viewing experience on all three genres mentioned with no detrimental viewing anomalies (not apparent to me anyway).

* Movies: Previewed a range of movies (including animated) and TV shows and everything looked great. * Sports - I watched the NFL playoff games and the Superbowl and the picture was fantastic, the colours really "popped". I also watch some of the Australian Open and it also looked good. * Gaming - played Call of Duty - Black Ops 6 (on an Xbox Series X) and once again the colours were excellent. I am just an ad-hoc/ part time gamer (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber), my skills level is lower/middle tier level in multiplayer game results (my K/D is usually over 1.00 to 1.00 (1.00-2.00+ to 1). But to me the game played really well, with no apparent lagging etc. (which is not an issues as I have a specific gaming monitor to use if I felt it necessary).

Only time will tell how well it goes long term re dead pixels and the LED backlights and the warranty.

After dealing with their horrendous customer service, that TV was replaced and the replacement lasted for around 10-11 months before developing black lines from top to bottom through the whole screen. Quality control seems to be non-existent. I think TCL spends its' money on YouTube influencers who claim these are great value but have no experience of whether they will last.

The Australian customer service is either highly incompetent or trained to frustrate the customer so much that they will go away. English language skills are poor and they don't listen to what is being asked of them. I asked them to email me rather than calling me during the day when I'm working and they continue calling my phone and leaving messages asking me to call their phone line. On the one occasion that I did call their number, I spent 20 minutes on hold, only to be told that the department who could help me had left for the day. They use terms like 'valued customer' and 'please be assured' but these mean nothing.

When I contacted them at first to replace the replacement TV, I knew the drill so sent them the product number and a photo of the serial number. You would think that would be recorded against the case file but nearly a month later I receive a voice message asking what the model number is. I send this to them again via email. Then I receive another voice message asking me what the serial number is. Extremely frustrating and either incompetent or deliberately obstructive.

Throughout the 'customer service' process, while you're waiting for them to get back to you, you'll receive text messages asking if the case has been resolved and if not, to call their helpdesk (and stay on hold for ages). Unbelievably frustrating.

Meanwhile, I have another large TV I bought from an established Korean brand that has just worked perfectly from day one with no problems. These TCL TV's are built big and bright to sell cheap and they don't last. I recommend you buy a TV from a reliable brand rather than these. I'll probably buy a number of TV's in my life but I will NEVER spend another cent on a TCL product.

Just have a google of “lg oled PSU” and see how common it is. I may try to repair it but as OLEDs are by far the best looking TVs, I’ve just ordered a new one on sale with 5y warranty, s#cker for punishment it seems haha.

LG did state that extend the warranty past 1year by 600 days?? (Can’t remember the exact number) due to Australian consumer law stating items of value must last “a reasonable length of time”. 5 years for a $3-4k tv is cr#p when cheap butts LED last for ever. Even crapper when the most important thing, the panel, seems to still be flawless but cheap parts designed to fail, fail.

Update, after lodging a formal complaint LG replaced the 2 boards, then the panel. So make sure you fight for your consumer protections people!

if you put it down and it happens to roll over it’ll come up with Netflix or something. We have a sound bar hooked up to it as the sound isn’t great either. We had that already though so easy to hook in. We got it for a bargain so not complaining - get what you pay for! It is a base model so got to be expected!

clunky with useless buttons you only need the basics its quite compact & you can charge the remote by usb or daylight as it's got a little solar panel so cool no more batteries. for a new TV for the spare room, we had visitors from the UK, arriving soonish!

We purchased a Hisense 65” U8HAU 4K ULED QLED Mini LED Smart TV, unfortunately we couldn’t fit a bigger TV, it is unbelievable to be sure, the clarity and crispness of the picture, the TV sound is outstanding and the Hisense sound bar is unbelievable to say the least, it was a bargain by any measure!

We have a larger Hisense TV in our lounge, it’s a little older and we find ourselves watching movies in the spare room, the picture is unbelievable as I said! Almost time for a new lounge TV, a 100” model!

We have 3 Hisense TV’s in total and they are all very good indeed, reasonably priced, very good value for money!

turn-off/turn back on again routine. Nothing. Put fresh batteries in the remote. Nothing. It just won't turn on anymore. The speakers sound tinny - and there's no Aux Output so that you can hook it up to an Amp. It's one of a few things I've bought from Kogan in the past - never again. The Digital Radio I got from them was great to start with and had a good, rich sound. But like the TV, it stopped working. I sent it back to them (at my cost), and they sent it back to me and said it worked perfectly. Um... no, it DIDN'T. Still had the exact same problem, so whatever it was that they tested, it sure wasn't the most basic of tests - to turn it on. Ended up binning it. Won't be buying anything Soniq or anything from Kogan ever again.

Contacted Sony, they won't do anything, because it's out of warranty. I don't care what they say, it's sad that major manufactures are selling high end products with limited warranty. are poor quality and regret going down this brand. New TV and streaming is a nightmare. Issues with picture freezing and navigating back to normal tv mode it just refuses to work. Not my network as I am running hard wired internet connection at a network speed of 1000 mbs download.. the fastest in its class. This TV is just junk. Stay away because you will not be satisfied with the TCL Product. I’ll contact customer support again but like my previous experiences it’s a nightmare dealing with them

Would never buy another chiq tv and would advise against it. Woefully under resourced so the android tv experience is so so bad it drives you nuts. Super laggy and you have to press the remote buttons extremely hard to try and get a response.

which has now turned to very frequently. restarting, unlplugging and resetting the TV settings don't help at all. I have no issues with wifi range, internet speed etc. all has been checked by a telecommunications expert. Its poor build quality on a cheap TV that seems to have finally given up. I'm not sure if I'd buy one again. at one stage I was recommending these and now I'm not so sure.

Software seems to be the issue. TV is slow to run, needs frequent restarts, goes back to home screen or a different app to the one selected. Never going TCL again. Show details

outstanding. However the sound is miserably tinny and so you really must connect up either a soundbar or home theatre. My TV has worked well but with one qualification: it doesn't play well across an HDMI ARC connection with my Denon home theatre amplifier. LG support was of limited help only, assisting me to identify what the trigger for the problem is but offered no solution. Instead, I had to work around the problem, which eventually worked. Overall, it is a great TV with easy to apply settings and outstanding picture quality. If you target a slightly smaller screen size (65in), price drops significantly, but the 83in size certainly makes for a true home cinema.

playing up etc. Well Ive had mine for over 18mths now & Im still as happy with my purchase as the day I got it. Great picture, Great sound, love the voice control etc. For those who said they got rid of it because of faults etc, ALL TCL LED/LCD T.V.'s. have a 3YR warranty with in home service for 43" & above. 10/10 from me.

picture and good sound. Great price for a 55" smart TV. Our previous was a 55" LG which gave up after 12 years and which in present day, inflation adjusted prices cost around $4900. This was $680 +$25 delivery and it looks and sounds just as good although it doesn't have 3D (which nobody is making any longer - it flopped).
