very difficult and convoluted to find clear information about the performance of my super both before and after the acquisition. When do you find the info you're after, you realise their investment returns are not great compared with other super funds.

For this reason, I decided to leave verve. I submitted all the required documents for a rollover and heard back from them saying they needed my ID to be certified. No worries, I went and got my drivers license and passport certified and sent it back to them. Then, a few days later, they came back again and said I needed my marriage certificate to be certified. No worries, I did that and returned it. THEN they came back to me for a THIRD time saying I now needed certified copies of my new drivers license and passport in my married name, despite submitting three certified documents already. Fair enough if they have this process in place, but why would I not be told upfront everything that needs to be submitted and certified? I have now had to go out of my way three seperate times to get documents certified as it doesn't seem they know what they're doing or what's required.

Made me happy with my decision to leave.

As a Western Australian with an understanding of the role of mining in our economy, I am very proud that my long term super fund - Australian Ethical… Read more

Super - has not invested in Fortescue (aka FMG), which has operated a large, destructive iron ore mine on Yindjibarndi native title country in norther-west WA's Pilbara region since 2012 with no agreement whatsoever with the Yindjibarndi people.

In my view, it doesn't matter how good you are at saving the environment (or how much you say that you are), you are not supporting a sustainable future if you ignore the autonomy and voices of the first peoples of this country, most of whom are still facing extreme social-economic disadvantage, including in the regions where mining wealth is made.

While other Pilbara iron ore miners pay native title holders a royalty of around 0.5% of FOB revenue generated by mines on their country, FMG offered the Yindjibarndi a capped rate of $4 million a year, for a mine covering around 100sqm of their native title that generates AU$5-7 billion annually and has completely destroyed 124 of their cultural sites, damaged another 116 sites (sites estimated by FMG's archaeologists to be at least over 40,000 years old) and destroyed sacred water ways.

The Federal Court recently upheld the Yindjibarndi's compensation case against FMG, but the matter remains unresolved, and FMG remains a highly unethical investment, until the company makes a fair and respectful agreement with Yindjibarndi.

Thanks again, Australian Ethical Super, for steering clear of this company, and for having some backbone and discernment regarding what "ethical investment'" means.

all they do is say we'll verify yourself biometric

Problem is going through that there system refuses to accept my photo no matter how many times you do it so cang log into spaceship to change to my new number to recieve verification code to mobile to access my account to change any details.

So inform them time and time again all they do is say verify yourself by biometric and send you a link when you explain you can't and why they just say sorry that's the way it is either you do it by biometric or not at all.

This company is a joke refuses to let yourself do it any other way so they are stuck with my closed bank account and I'm stuck with an account I can't use because they refuse to see reason.

They will not help me fix this problem if I could give the a negative infinity score i would

MLC take advantage of the disabled with their total disability scheme. In order for them to pay out any owed total disability scheme super payments… Read more

to someone who has a total disability they require that that totally disabled person submit a current drivers license and passport. If they cannot provide them with these documents MLC expect the person suffering the total disability to submit photocopies of their, proof of age card, medicare card and birth certificate which all need to be signed off by an authorized representative. So the person who is so disable they are unable to drive a car or leave the country is expected to be able to buy or own a printer, understand how to scan the required documents and then print them, then travel to the police station or chemist and have them approval all documents then travel to the post office, purchase their own postage and send it to MLC offices. No they cannot accept any of these document via email because how are they supposed to prove they came from the disabled person even though all the communication sent to the disabled person are via email and they use confirmation of email address for their phone security approvals. Because MLC won't accept any proof via email the disabled person is expected to send all their very private information via snail mail. Only for them to reject the application via AI because they have made a clerical error on their end and recorded the birth date incorrectly, and despite all the evidence the disabled person has just submitted to prove their identity, it doesn't match what some random employer uploaded more than 25 years ago, so their application is denied. If you are fortunate enough to have a legal career who can support your through the process, well good luck getting them accepted by MLC as they auto reject any newly submitted paperwork for the same birth date issue. How is this legal? How can they say someone birthday is not their birthday when every legal and legally authorized document displays the correct date. They have withheld a payment for 10 years because of this very problem, they refuse to talk to the legal carer because they can only talk to the account holder. Like how is this supposed to work with alzihmers sufferers or people who have total intellectual disabilities or physical disabilities. And if these people die while not not being able to withdraw their super guess who gets to keep the money MLC. Disgusting disgusting disgusting

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Extremely disappointing experience with Mercer Super customer service. I requested my statements for the last three years, but… Read more

instead of listening to my request and reviewing the history of my previous interactions and calls, I was blamed for not asking correctly.

My issue was not about a lack of understanding on my part; it was about a failure to properly review the information already provided and understand my previous requests. Rather than taking the time to listen and resolve the matter, the conversation focused on technical terminology and shifted responsibility back to me.

I was advised that the issue would take 3–5 business days, but after waiting, it was only partially resolved. I was then placed into another 3–5 business day cycle while the original concern remained unresolved.

Customer service with empathy, patience, and ownership can make a significant difference. Members need someone who listens, understands the situation, and helps navigate the process rather than feeling blamed or dismissed.

For a superannuation provider managing people’s retirement savings, trust is built through accessibility, clear communication, and reliable support. Given how difficult it has been to get assistance and resolve a straightforward request, I would have serious concerns about entrusting my retirement savings to a provider with such a challenging customer service experience.

and every interaction has shown a serious lack of ownership and clarity. • When I asked about adding insurance to my super, support told me to fill out a form and send it in — but never mentioned that insurance is handled by a completely different company. No follow‑up, no email, no notification. • The Velocity points perk advertised on their website never arrived. When I contacted support, they simply read the website back to me and told me to email “another team” because they couldn’t help. • Every time I reach out, support seems to do nothing except redirect me elsewhere. No accountability, no updates, no actual assistance. I genuinely don’t understand why Virgin Super has a support team if they aren’t empowered to resolve even the simplest customer issues.
