Very poor service from Hesta. My wife asked them a very simple question online in regards to her Non Concessional cap using the Bring Forward rule.… Read more
She was fairly confident of the answer but just wanted to check to be sure. What she received back made no sense at all. Seems whoever replied had no idea of the difference between concessional and non concessional contributions. She contacted them again for clarification only to be given even more nonsense. This time the responder had confused the tax paid on a previous concessional payment as the payment itself falsely claiming my wife had lodged an NOI for that figure. Sorry this is just complete and utter garbage.
How can anyone rely on an organisation that is providing such misleading and incorrect information to their members ?
Now she has raised a complaint but has received the customary "we'll reply in 45 business days" response.
Such delays just add salt to the wound and should not be tolerated by any member.
edit: We let this review go to mediation with HESTA rather than publish outright but the only thing my wife has received in the last week has been more platitudes about how important her business is to them and how they will look into the problem immediately - ha !
Brighter Super
Great venue, great speakers, concerned over proposed 10% returns mentioned constantly. Also top 10 of super funds… I haven’t seen any other reporting that puts us in the top 10 but still a bit chuffed, are we keeping it to ourselves.

highly enough!
They consistently provided prompt, friendly, and genuinely helpful customer service. Every interaction felt personal, with a clear commitment to making sure I understood everything as a customer.
It's rare to find a super fund that not only aligns with your values but also delivers such outstanding support. I truly appreciated their approach over the years and would wholeheartedly recommend Cruelty Free Super to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional superannuation option.
Thank you for the fantastic service!

Do not use the superannuation company for business purposes. Admin set up is extremely difficult and follow up support is not adequate. REST needs an overhaul.

NESB. She could not understand me. I had to repeat myself over and over. Disgraceful. They were meant to send a document for me to complete for a financial advice appt in two days. Haven't received it. I've sent an email and guarantee it wont be responded to prior to the appt. Absolutely going to change funds. What astounds me is the complaints about poor customer service are evident over years. It has never been otherwise. This site is monitored by Hostplus. The representative constantly apologises yet nothing improves!! Absurd

deliberately stall withdrawals by weeks and months and forget traying to transfer your super to your SMSF. They have consciously and deliberately made steps to withhold your funds from roll over or transfer to other industry funds. My mother who is in pension mode had to wait 3 months and two AFCA complaints to get $50K which was need to purchase a retirement villa as she needed the shortfall from her super. They basically left her on the street and we covered the shortfall. Now they refuse to transfer my funds to my SMSF that my account processed. They lied and made me get certified ID twice when the first was legitimate and now state more lies. I suspect they do not have the cash here in Australia as my fund is in cash allocation 100% so Be very concerned. Looks like a giant Ponzi scheme and none of the money is onshore.

that the form required and provided a copy of my bank details. When I called ,I was told that the application was not received. I then had to send another form under registered cover. I received a message that the bank details were a screenshot and therefore no payment could be made. I find this as pettiness by NGS...since I provided all necessary details in the form and the bank statement was not a screenshot. I have since seriously urged someone who knows what they are doing and to respond to the present status of my claim in one way or the other. Pending on the response I will consider moving my super to another fund which may treat me better and with empathy.Members take note...this is not where you'll likely to get any reasonable service. An organisation that will frustrate you on your withdrawal...very poor service...

"Navigating the Nightmare: My Struggle for Insurance Access with REI Superfund" – **Review of REI Superfund** I recently had a troubling experience with REI Superfund that I feel compelled to share. After receiving a diagnosis… Read more
that rendered me unable to work, I attempted to access my default Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance. To my dismay, I was informed that I did not qualify for coverage because I supposedly did not work for a Real Estate agency. I promptly provided evidence of my employment in the sector, yet they repeatedly referred back to their policy, dismissing my eligibility.
According to their own policy, I meet all the criteria for default insurance cover: 1. I am aged 25 and above. 2. My account balance has exceeded $6,000 at least once. 3. I have never canceled my cover, nor has it ceased. 4. A contribution was made after my balance met the $6,000 threshold.
Despite this, REI Superfund has consistently refused to provide me with the necessary paperwork to access my claim. Now, six months later, they are suggesting that I withdraw my superannuation, effectively absolving themselves of responsibility.
In frustration, I contacted the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) due to their lack of response to my complaints. I also hired a superannuation lawyer who has indicated that their practices may be illegal and that this matter needs to be escalated further.
While I acknowledge that the funds are managed well financially, I strongly advise anyone considering accessing their insurance through REI Superfund to think twice. The process has been incredibly frustrating, and I fear that many others could face a similar situation, potentially leading to financial ruin before they receive the assistance they rightfully deserve.

Chewed up, kicked while down and out, then kicked again by the trustee (union members) who simply rubber stamped its insurers decision to decline the claim.
