Oscar blades for about ~10 years and am impressed with how well they shave and how long they last.

The cost works out to ~$1 per month (~$4/blade) which is very modest... so paying a little more for each blade when purchasing saves you in the long run. Once you realise how little you're really paying the purchase price is no longer a major factor.

The handle has a tendency to fall apart if you drop it... but it's fairly easy to reassemble and shows no signs of breaking. It's a fairly substantial handle and easy to grip.

The blade sometime detaches from the handle... but it's fairly easy to reattach... just annoying.

Shaving while showering might help explain why the blades last so long. The blades get changed when the lubricating strip across the bottom starts to wear out i.e. When the shave starts to become less smooth. The blades are still cutting but they start to irritate more and you start to get the odd nick. They last so long you often lose track of how long you've been using the blade. It would probably be preferable to change the blade at the 4 month mark to obtain the best shave. Stretching it to 5 months is probably false economy.

My rotary blade electric shaver still gets a bit of use... but over the years Oscar has convinced me to use a blade most of the time.

Oscar's only problem is that they want you to autoship. Oscar seems to have assumed that if you didn't order regularly you didn't want to be a customer. That's wrong. You order infrequently because the blades last so long... but you keep coming back... and your orders keep getting bigger because you've figured out what you want and how to ensure autoship is not enabled N.B. The website now seems to work better: It's easier to find settings and change them.

Oscar have been very helpful the few times I have contacted them for help.

Oscar blades shave smoothly and provide a superior shave compared to other razors. Oscar is cost effective and you'll probably regret not trying them sooner. Oscar is the best shave you can get for a modest price. If there's a better shave out there somewhere I've yet to find it.

P.S. I suspect there is interest for an even better blade and handle if Oscar were game enough to try. They have certainly earned my trust and I'd be willing to try a product that offered even better performance. PPS. I used to have a handle that vibrated the blade and helped it cut better. I've always wondered why more companies don't do something like this N.B. Not all vibrating handles do much. Some vibrating handles work better than others.

do a treatment every couple of days (Ulike) or two weeks (Philips), you only need to do a treatment one every two months for 8-10 sessions, then 1 -2 touch ups every year.

bought the set with the shaver and massager which are also great. I have extremely fine blonde hair and wasn’t sure how well it would tweezer such fine hair. The light is extremely useful to help me find these. I don’t even feel it mostly. I used to shave my legs every second day as I hate the feeling of prickly legs against sheets. Yes, you have to go slow and go over the leg a couple of times to get baby smooth skin, but if I was going to a deserted island, this would be coming with me! My only regret, why didn’t I find this baby sooner. I could have saved so much money on razors! Highly recommend!

(8 h) but once charged should be easy to maintain during use. I bought it after the heads in my Philips shaver fell apart during cleaning. It was 6x the price and barely 3 years old. So if the Tac only lasts 6 months I'll be happy, I expect it will last considerably longer though as it has a neat compact design. The Tac did take a bit of getting used to after using other styles of electric shavers but I got a neat, close shave on my first use. Its rectangular shape does not seem as natural in the hand as more traditional electric shavers. I intend to use it as my regular shaver though I will occasionally use a blade for that really close shave. I now charge the Tac on a USB port on my desktop pc and am thinking of buying a second Tac for use in my car.

It is now 10 months since I bought this shaver. It is still working and still gives a good shave.

So after waxing for the past 25 years, I spotted this product and read so many reviews that I just had to try it.

The results after 2 weeks on my legs were amazing, I had no hairs on either sides of my shin and then within 3 weeks the hairs were starting to show in just patches. The bikini area took a little longer, but after 4 weeks I have no hair on the outside of the bikini line about an ich in my case and I went for the runway look and the hair is going after 5 weeks inside my pant line, I have no ingrown hairs, no razor bumps and I finally feel and look smooth (far better than waxing, which hair cames through within a few weeks for me). Underarms are patchy, but I will keep it up.

I have used it once a week on setting 5, its very easy to use. I also use a very good razor to shave first and also use a clear shave gel and oil myself after use. My daughter is waxing so has slower results.

Just a couple of negatives - On my boney ankles I struggle to get contact, my daughter has hairy feet and it just does not work there. I also think its worth buying in winter getting rid of the hair for spring/summer, then all you have to do it the maintence top up in the summer months. I bought it in the summer, but its mostly rained, just buy it at least 3 months before your main holiday away!

I am giving this product a 5 out of 5.

I used this shaver once every 10 days however Philips deliberately design their product to only last while still under warranty. Do not buy!

advertised. Their customer service has been frustrating and unhelpful: they repeatedly asked for information I had already provided, avoided answering my questions, and became passive-aggressive when I corrected them. They even called replacing their faulty product a “gesture of goodwill.”

Under NZ Consumer Law, a replacement for a faulty product within 90 days is not goodwill — it’s their legal obligation, including covering return shipping. Despite this, I’m still trying to return the device, and now they want me to pay for shipping or just issue a refund.

Their product is unreliable, and their service is unacceptable. Based on my experience, they are failing to meet their obligations under New Zealand consumer law.

Apply to dry skin… this works – This and The down under version is supposed to be applied to dry skin not wet skin, the product works waited. 10 minutes came off perfectly.. I do suggest washing off with a cold cloth rather than in hot water because it burns. Show details

I’m into body building, yes I did get 3 treatments of laser before using this product, but that was after 12 month of hair regrown back.

You do have to use every 2 days for the first week, then move to every 4 day for 3 weeks, then once a week for 3 months and that’s as far my experience been.

I don’t have any hair what’s so all on my legs, chest stomach arms, and buttock, And now only using every two weeks, will try once a month in a month or two.

You do have to be persistent at the start, I use everyday of the week on different body parts, and yes it does take time, you can’t go too fast.

It’s pain free, not like laser, i couldn’t get laser, as my skin would blister really bad, and for $500, this would be one completely body charge for laser, and you have to do 10 times to hair reduction.

My only negative was that I dropped it when unwinding the cord, and it broke the button, I took it back to the shaver shop and they gave me a new one.

I would recommend this product, but not if you don’t have the time, like I said you have to put in the time, especially the first month.

turn on. I had to plug it back into the charger for a few seconds to get it to work. A bit of a pain if you are already wet in the shower. So I got it replaced. The same thing happened after just over a week to the second unit. This time I will get a refund.

I would not buy a Braun again and have already ordered a replacement from another company.

logged my complaint with nair twice, the 2nd time just recently. I've resorted to this complaint as my experience logging a complaint has been identical to last time and It feels they're doing everything in the process to not deal with complaints, by making them too annoying and I'd give up. 1) try to submit a complaint via their feedback form and after filling it out and clicking submit you receive an error that the form is not working at this time. 2) call the number, they take your details, ask for a bunch of pictures videos etc, provide you with a reference number, say they'll email you so you can respond with said pictures but don't email so I have to call back.

My recent complaint was the creme is very runny. I've had creme that was like a paste and didn't stick to the skin either. The perfect creme is nice and mousse like however sometimes the container is only half ish full and other times its packed. I'm always throwing out bleach powder as the creme runs out before the powder.

I wish there were more options to choose from near me with more volume, im running out of patience with this product and brand support. Like most items, since covid and likely greedflation, the quality, performance and consistency is lacking and unreliable.

For others talking about skin bleaching, I do see this on body parts like my arms, or other chemical tiny blistering on my face if the strength is increased but for me none of it lasts, it disappears not long after I wash it off.
