for filling the litter tray and easy to store. There is no smell of urine which means longer use per tray. Sunning the tray after removal of solids is very effective, also prolonging usage. I like the fact that it does not clump as so many others do. My cats have responded well to its texture and like being able to scratch in it. Occasionally a small piece attaches to the cat's paw but rarely. The litter is easy to sweep up and not too dusty. I thoroughly recommend Chandler cat litter to all cat owners.

walnut based one but the dark granules looked awful tracking across the pale floor. This corn based litter, although dusty (when pouring and litter tray cleaning) has been great for odour control and we’ve been using it for a while. Although it does track a little, it’s not as much as the walnut one and doesn’t hurt like the crystals. Yesterday we adopted a 2nd cat and while sitting in the room with her she used the litter tray, hopped out and started a coughing fit. All of a sudden (lightbulb moment), we realised this has been the issue for our first cat. She has been having coughing fits (assumed by us and the vet to be allergies) that has only cropped up in the past 9months. I’m now on the hunt for yet another type of genuinely dust free litter.

Since my old girl passed away I was missing that company and everyday interaction with my beloved cat, I decided to buy another kitten and noticed… Read more

the breeder was using ozpet, their house had 11 kittens and 3 adult cats, understandable as this is their livelihood, their career. When it was time to pick up my fur baby I noticed they had 4 litter trays all filled with ozpet, I couldn’t smell any strong odours, just a light scent of what smelt like damp wood, it is wood pellets after all, it was strange that I couldn’t smell anything strong or overpowering, it is a multi cat household after all and I didn't really notice any litter tracking that I was used to seeing from other litters. They mentioned I continue with ozpet or I could change to whatever I preferred, crystal or tofu. Skeptical because I attempted to use this around 10 or so years ago and I didn’t have much success, maybe my old girl was just stubborn, it was hard to break an old habit and change from crystal litter. The breeder gave me a small sample bag of ozpet to take home, I know the time and effort it takes to change to another litter, it’s time consuming and being a new kitten I didn’t want to change any routines they were used to or stress them out while my fur baby settled in

This litter is truly amazing, no strong ammonia smell and clean up is quite simple. I also noticed the same distinctive smell and I only have my little one so with a multi cat household it’s definitely worth it. I read more online about this litter and realised this explained many reasons why there is no overwhelming odour All I do is scoop out the solid waste, shake and sieve the rest, the best part is that it’s environmentally friendly, just shake the litter tray directly into a garden or compost, the litter breaks down as it soaks and eventually dries. It truly is the best litter I have used and I’ve had many a cat/kitten

All I can say is there will be no more crystal litter for me, it’s high maintenance and can be quite expensive in the long run. Definitely using ozpet for many years to come

weeks instead of the advertised 90 days; because of the way it clumps (NO CLUMPS just a wide flat circle about 6 inches in diameter) you throw out a lot when cleaning. I tilt the litter but instead of a clump there's always a wide flat sticky mess about 6 inches wide. I have to work hard to pry it off the bottom of the box and of course it breaks up into little pieces all over. There's never a clump. I use the litter scoop like a spatula trying to lift it up as one piece. This is the premium version. It's very disappointing.

The coarser the batch, the less it clumps and the less it controls the smell. I have a sifting tray and i can smell the wee in the next room when sifted is in a sealed drawer and main part is also enclosed.

Cat has also started using her sisters blood detection tofu litter box. Guessing she prefers that litter

Time to look for another brand or ditch the sifting litter tray so i can go tofu for both girls

We already used a clay clumping litter, so I was expecting very little issues changing over. I wanted to try a litter that was a bit cheaper, so I… Read more

decided to try Katz Loo. Big mistake!

The bags are heavy, but you expect that with clay clumping litters. The biggest issue is the clumps. They break far too easily, leaving small bits of clumped urine or faeces that are almost impossible to catch in our scoops. Our scoops are designed for this type of litter, and we have no issue with our usual brand so this is a Katz Loo problem. It didn't matter how long after use I scooped, about 70-80% of the clumps broke apart. That's a no-no for clumping litters!

The other major issue I had with Katz Loo was that it got "heavier" the longer it was used. Our regular litter stays "light", which means scooping is no great issue despite issues with my hands and spine. Katz Loo, however, seems to absorb moisture from the environment and from the urine. Hopefully this makes sense, but it's like the entire litter box got wetter and wetter, and heavier! When I scooped, I could visibly notice the difference between the 2 litters. With our regular litter, it remains light and easily scoopable, but not Katz Loo!

There is also very little odor control once the litter's been used for 5-7 days. Our regular litter doesn't need to be completely changed for a couple of months, so having stinky clumps and a litter box that simply doesn't smell as fresh as it should was a definite downer.

Will I continue to use this litter? Heck no!! I'm going back to our regular litter, and the second bag of Katz Loo that I haven't yet used will be donated to a local cat rescue. Very disappointing, very unhappy that it so poorly lived up to expectations, and very happy to be back to our regular litter after all the inconvenience!!

years.

This is the Kmart brand of Crystal Cat litter in 3.2 kg bags (6-7 litres). Price in 2024 is $9 per bag, still good value. I'd searched fairly widely, as crystal litter is not cheap! I switched to using this in 2019. Product is similar quality to Catsan and Cara brands. Note: If any brand of crystals get too crushed in storage, they will be very dusty, and breathing in a lot of silica dust is dangerous for humans and pets. Other family members, and my friends now also buy this brand and are very pleased. This is pure white and unscented (crystal litter doesn't need scenting if you are removing droppings daily). Best part is Kmart do FREE delivery for metro orders over $65. Delivery is typically 2-4 days.
