I asked for ge eral pricing and got need a call out fee $160 plus GST then extra from there. Gave up and called Jim's IT. Got a quote approx 1 hour @ $150 inc GST. The repair itself was excellent, communication was prompt, and the whole experience felt honest and customer-focused rather than rushed. Thanks to Vivian’s support, everything is now working perfectly and we didn’t even need to use a 2nd replacement screen that she had ordered just in case.

Phone was returned as soon as information supplied and Australia Pist confirmed receipt by Phonebot. Website states phones returned for refund will be inspected with a couple of days. It is now 10 days since Phonebot have received phone and I have not received a refund nor acknowledgment of progress.

Data Recovery specialists. I rang both companies. Both were professional and polite, but Payam Data Recovery (Brisbane) were also kind and had a very personalised approach. We were put in contact with Scott the amazing Data Recovery Technician who was very reassuring and really seemed to care about our situation. All communication (on the phone, in person and via email) was clear and effective. We were kept up to date at all times and our data was returned to us (yay) in an efficient timeframe. issue was repairable and covered by a 90-day warranty.

However, after multiple repair attempts, the issue was not resolved. I returned again within the warranty period and explained that the problem mainly occurs at night, which cannot be properly tested during store hours. Despite this, the store relied on limited in-store testing and concluded that the phone was working, without addressing the specific conditions under which the issue arises.

On 14 February 2026, I was offered a partial refund with removal of parts and no warranty, subject to a 7-day deadline. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) later confirmed that this deadline is not part of the store’s published terms and conditions (https://www.grphones.com.au/terms-and-conditions-2/)

I sent two follow-up emails but did not receive any substantive response until now.

My concern is not only that the issue remains unresolved, but also the reliance on limited testing, the inconsistency between the stated position and the proposed refund, and the lack of engagement after the matter was formally raised.

Fast and efficient service. I always ring these guys first.
