We did this when one of us got sick and there was the risk of only having one trustee. Knowing what we know now we would recommend setting up your super as a Corporate Trustee from the start. That being said iCare made the change very easy to do. The reason we chose iCare was the existing online service that we were using didn’t support a full range of legitimate SMSF investments and had restrictions on bank accounts and brokers. iCare SMSF allowed us much more flexibility. regret it. They have made the whole process of managing a self-managed super fund very simple and easy and have always provided expert advice when required. With access to their Class app it is very simple to keep up to date with the performance of our super. All aspects of fund management are taken care of for a simple monthly fee which is very reasonable. When we first investigated setting up our SMSF, we spent significant time looking into all aspects and reviewed a number of fund managers. SuperGuardian came out well on top and in fact proved to be cheaper than trying to administer the SMSF ourselves both in terms of time and money. We have a dedicated client manager (Tom) who always provides a courteous, prompt and expert service. (Just to be clear, SG provides a fund administration service to ensure that the SMSF complies with all Australian legal and ATO requirements, whilst we, as trustees, select investments for our fund.) and after a couple of emails requesting an update/status, I got the following response. I quote " .... Our escalation process has been temporarily put on hold until further notice, hence I am not able to escalate this application for you. Your application is currently waiting for final review and approval - it can be any time from now ....." I am still waiting 2 days later for any account or update. I have initiated an account with a different broker. I don't need the hassle, and NAB obviously are not keen on new customers.

When I arrived at the office I was told my personal tax return couldn’t be done until the business return was done (even though they are completely separate). I was then quoted $2000 for the business return and i also had to sign up to use their software (over $150 pm) and it couldn’t be done using figures from an Excel SS. So you do 80% of their work and they still charge a huge amount. Unbelievable!
