guys. I have been in the dark the entire process having no clue as to what is happening. I also had to repeatedly follow up on unanswered emails, and was asked by them to send through paperwork again which i had already sent.
They also lost the first email I had sent them, with the contract to check over. I had to call to follow up for this also, and yes I did get a phone call back that morning, but I should have known at that point that the ball would be dropped throughout the process. Yes, i get that people get sick and can't go to work, but surely, for time sensitive matters there would be a shared inbox to check when this happens?!
Had to call regarding PEXA as well as it was 2 business days before settlement and I heard diddly squat, only to be told by my bank the date was actually 14 days after I was initially told it was. The first letter had one date of settlement, but it was actually something different - which I understand the reasons for, but it really should have been communicated but it was assumed that I should know this information. I didn't really give a hoot if the date was different due to what the contract said, what I am annoyed about is the lack of communication. I don't go around buying houses and apartments everyday to know contractual obligations etc off the top of my head. That is what I am apparently paying this company for.
On settlement day, one hour before settlement, I finally received an email from them to inform me of what would happen. This is after phone calls over the past two business days to see if I was required to transfer the remaining balance etc.
Everytime I called to check if I had any outstanding actions, the person was always busy or on another call. I also am not sure if this is a normal thing, but I had spoken to at least 4 different people over the phone over the course of settlement. If its normal, I wouldnt have a clue as there have been no updates as to the progress.
I really do not recommend these guys based on extremely poor communication and management. I was not happy at all at the lack of updates and even the attitude some of the solicitors had on the phone with me. I know you're busy but I wouldnt have to annoy you so much if you had the courtesy to send an email or update or timeline of events.
POST SETTLEMENT: building managers and body corp had not been notified of the transfer of ownership. As a result, there is rental money owed to me sitting in limbo somewhere from the previous owner. The property manager even commented they usually hear from solicitors before and after settlement as it is part of the process so they are able to with hold funds and transfer ownership. How many phone calls does one have to make to follow up? I have called and emailed repeatedly, only for Amelie to be "on the other line" and to never return my calls.
Honestly, these people have been a nightmare to work with. Purchasing a property is in general a big life decision for most people and is not taken lightly - these people are a joke.

July 2024, and we received written confirmation from the firm that their work was complete and the file had been closed. All settlement funds were transferred as requested and the transaction was finalised through PEXA.
However, shortly after settlement we were contacted about a water bill that related entirely to the seller’s pre-settlement period. After extensive correspondence and escalation over many emails, the issue was eventually reviewed at a senior level within the company and we were issued a refund in October 2024 after the firm acknowledged that the matter had not been identified during settlement.
Despite the issue being resolved and refunded, we have since received ongoing payment demands and threats of debt recovery for various alleged fees, with no supporting documentation or explanation of how these charges were calculated or why they were not addressed at settlement.
We have repeatedly asked for evidence, including PEXA records or reconciliation of settlement funds, but none has been provided. Communication has been inconsistent, and statements made verbally have contradicted the firm’s own written correspondence.
What should have been a straightforward property transaction has instead turned into a prolonged and frustrating experience involving repeated attempts to collect money we do not believe is owed, long after the matter was confirmed as closed.
Based on our experience, we would strongly encourage anyone to reconsider using this firm.

mortgage. I have worked with Maria for more than 10 years, navigating my finances as a single Mum of 3 with a mortgage, financing building extensions on my property and after the lean times while I have studied a university degree. She has again been an invaluable support to me financially by enhancing my financial position dramatically, finding me the best possible interest rates, consolidating my credit card balance and offering me a much more manageable mortgage set up. I have proudly referred many of my family and friends to Maria and her team who can always find a way to help people who don't meet the typical criteria that banks prefer to work with. I have always found Maria to be exceptionally knowledgeable about all of the banks needs and she knows how to match a client with the right bank to get an approval across the line. She is confident, accurate, professional and has the heart of her clients' needs at the forefront. I trust her and she has never let me down. basics done on time.
On the afternoon before settlement Vincent called me to tell me that my bank did not have authority to draw the shortfall amount for our property purchase from our account. This contradicted advice we had received previously from our broker and directly from the bank. Unfortunately the call came so late in the day I was unable to confirm with anyone else and Vincent advised me there was 'no other way' to attempt to complete settlement on time but to request a same day transfer from the bank.
The whole thing was so stressful and confusing.
Unfortunately the next day when I was finally able to speak with my broker she confirmed that the bank DID have authority to draw the funds (just needed the information updated on the form) and there was no need to delay settlement. In fact the transfer that Vincent had advised me to make meant the funds were not available on the settlement date and so we had to delay by three days (long weekend) which cost us over $1k.
Afterwards we found out not only did Vincent not have any correspondence from the bank saying they did not have authority (he had taken the blank section of the form to mean this, which was wrong), but he had received an email from the bank early on the day of settlement requesting the information for the account which he never informed us of. If we had this information at this time we probably could have asked the bank to cancel the transfer and everything would have been ok.
The whole thing was really stressful and unhelpful and expensive - no idea why we paid him $880 to make the whole thing harder for us.
We contacted Vincent after everything was over to request the amount of fee back at least - still not as much as the whole thing had cost us, but he refused to take responsibility.
Please avoid this company at all costs.
