While the Philips Airfryer XXL is a solid and well-built appliance, I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth the premium price tag. The larger basket… Read more

makes a massive difference in how much you can cook at once, which is a huge plus for families or roasting a whole chicken, but beyond the size, I haven’t noticed much of a difference compared to cheaper models. Philips heavily markets their "Fat Removal Technology" as a standout feature that separates and captures excess fat, but in my experience, I haven't seen any discernable difference in the food quality or the amount of fat collected. It seems to function much like any other basket-style fryer on the market. It heats up quickly and is very easy to use, but you are paying a lot extra for a specific technology that doesn't feel any different from the standard way these machines cook. Furthermore, despite the premium design, I’ve found that it is still quite difficult to clean, with the extra parts and large basket taking up significant space and effort. If you specifically need the extra capacity, it’s a high-quality machine, but I wouldn't buy it just for the health or convenience claims.

I purchased the Philips Azur Elite Steam Iron on 22/04/2022, expecting a high-quality, long-lasting product from a well-known brand. Unfortunately,… Read more

it did not meet expectations. I only used it once a week for normal household ironing, yet it developed problems very quickly and eventually stopped working properly.

The steam output became inconsistent, and the overall build quality feels poor for a product marketed as premium. To make matters worse, the customer service has been terrible. I tried contacting Philips online and by phone — waited over an hour with no response — and also sent an email with no reply. This is completely unacceptable.

For the price paid, this iron is not worth it. Cheaper irons from stores like Kmart last just as long, sometimes even longer.

Very disappointing product and even worse customer service. I will not be buying Philips again.

Great at improving air quality within the home – This air purifier is a game-changer in clearing smells (e.g. hazard reduction smoke, cooking smells) and dust from the air. The coloured sensor is… Read more

useful for being about to visually see how good (or bad) the air quality is and cooking smells (e.g from curry or.. burning something) will be cleared from the living areas within minutes, instead of lingering for days.

The machine has removable filters - I've owned mine for several years and have only had to regularly clean the dust filter and air quality sensor so I'm guessing the air quality within my home isn't so bad to need to replace the carbon or HEPA filters. I live on a main road facing traffic (although shielded by trees/shrubs, from a distance) so there is quite a bit of dust that comes into my home.

Got it back then 1.5months BOOM same problem. Back to HN and sent back off again. They have had it for 1.5weeks so far, called Phillips, waiting for report before they approve the fix. So they wont approve a new, replacement or refund. I can assure you that the service and machine is terrible. DON'T BUY PHILLIPS, Im going to go back to Delonghi.

buying a “smart” air purifier. Dealing with Philips customer service was incredibly frustrating—emails were ignored, and when I called, they showed no interest in listening or actually helping to resolve the issue. There was zero ownership or urgency from their side. In contrast, Amazon handled the situation professionally and efficiently and arranged a replacement without the runaround. Great product hardware, but the app and customer support are a major letdown. Without Amazon stepping in, this would have been a complete disappointment.

My husband and I went looking for an air fryer as first time buyers. We had never had one before and had recently gone on holiday with a family… Read more

member who did and were very impressed and intrigued at the possibilities for easier family meals. We went to The Good Guys and looked at the range. The Phillips brand appliances have been great for us before, so we were pleased to see they had an air fryer in the size we were looking for as a family of 5. Set up was very easy. I gave it a quick wash first and we ran it for 10 minutes empty to ensure there was no smell. Then we could get cooking! Our favourite dishes so far are; Roast vegetables- cut up carrot and potato into bite sized pieces and cook for 21 minutes on 180 degrees sling every 7 minutes. Chicken thigh- lay flat and cook for 20 minutes on 180 degrees for a delicious, juicy piece of meat you can use chopped up in a salad or with some veges as a high protein meal. The size is good for our family of 5 (3 young children plus 2 adults). We can make a side or make large components of meals in one use. Cleaning is a breeze. The basket comes out easily and both sections of it fit in the sink for a good wash. Overall we are extremely happy with this purchase. It works well and is easy to use.

We purchased this after our old steam generator iron developed a crack in the tank. The actual iron is fine, and works well and were it not for the… Read more

problems outlined below it would rate higher.

The user manual is largely pictograms and is rather confusing. Perhaps they can take a lesson from a certain Swedish furniture retailer on how to do useful pictograms. However we have worked it out.

We have encountered two issues. The most recent is one which the user manual does not address at all. The iron started to drip significant amounts of water from the sole plate - not steaming adequately. After a lot of research on the internet we worked out we could decalc it with low level appliance cleaner and a few rinses. That solved the problem.

However the biggest problem is the de-calcification knob/sealing plug which you have to be very careful not to cross thread. The designer chose to make the thread very fine, and put a massive rubber ring near the handle. We have been very careful with this as it impedes refitting it after the mandatory Easy De-calc steps. It now looks like the tank plug thread is damaged - despite our best efforts.

Perhaps it can be remedied with a spare, which we cannot find in Australia at present. There is a part on a European site that looks the same, and one of other models at the Australian spares site that Philips directs you to

================================================================== UPDATE: Jun-2025 ================================================================== We purchased a new de-calc plug from StateWide Appliances (ask for a Steamer Rinse Cap) - $26.95. It fits indicating the thread of the tank itself is ok. The iron is functional again. Philip could redesign this item so the rubber sealing ring is smaller, or the threaded section is longer. The attached image illustrates the issue with the thread wear.

This item should not be a consumable.

It would be appreciated if Philips responded to these posts too.

I bought this kettle through Amazon at the same discounted price as other retailers, and it’s been a great find. If you’re looking for an affordable… Read more

kettle with no plastic interior — meaning no plastic in contact with your boiling water — this is a solid choice. I’m honestly surprised more people haven’t discovered it.

The interior is fully food-grade stainless steel with no plastic components touching the water. The exterior is a well-made, double-walled plastic housing, and the adjustable temperature control is simple and convenient to use.

Because the inside is fully stainless steel, there’s no viewing window, so you’ll need to open the lid to check the water level — a small trade-off in my view.

I’ve only had it for a few weeks, so I can’t comment on long-term durability yet, but I’ll update my review if anything changes.

good value. It was very expensive for essentially a 'normal' pedestal fan. Of course, it's better quality than a $20 fan from Kmart, but probably not worth $100 more. It is fairly quiet, and it's effective in my main bedroom, plus the timer features are really useful, and the base is weighted so it seems quite stable.

about a year without heavy usage and developed a short circuit. Plug it in and you blow the fuse. I opened up the bottom and the heating element had 1 cm of lime crust on it. I didn't detach any wires but dunked it in citric acid for a while and that cleaned it up and got it working again. There should be a way to self clean. $300 to last a year isn't a good deal

s5000 Steam Iron I would have to Recommend this product without any doubts. Outstanding performance Very pleased and Great Value for money.
