Samsung uses your TV as an advertising billboard. It is incredibly invasive to spend good money on a premium piece of hardware, only for Samsung to… Read more

treat your living room like a digital billboard. I don't have to take the ads, and there are a few highly effective ways to take back control of your TV from selfish companies like Samsung. 1. First obvious method. Do not buy Samsung! 2. The Best Solution: Cut the Internet (The "Dumb" TV Method) The single most permanent way to stop the ads, the tracking, and the sluggish menu updates is to disconnect the TV from the internet entirely. Go into your TV's network settings and choose "Forget Network" or unplug the ethernet cable. How to stream: Plug a dedicated streaming device—like an Apple TV, a Google TV Streamer, or an Amazon Fire Stick—into one of the HDMI ports. These dedicated boxes are much faster, have better interfaces, and completely bypass Samsung's ad-heavy operating system. Your TV goes back to doing what it was made to do: acting as a beautiful screen, nothing more. 3. Network-Level Ad Blocking If you want the TV on the internet but want to completely blindfold Samsung's ad servers, you can block the domains they use to fetch those home screen images. Change the TV's DNS. You can route the TV's internet traffic through a free, secure public ad-blocking service like AdGuard DNS Go to Settings > Network > Network Status > IP Settings. Select DNS Setting and change it to "Enter Manually". Enter 94.140.14.14 (or 94.140.15.15) and save. This automatically stops many known ad servers from delivering banners to your screen. 4. Opt Out of the Privacy Settings If you still need the TV connected to the internet for native apps, you can manually disable Samsung's ad-tracking profiles, which will significantly reduce the clutter: Go to Settings > General & Privacy > Terms & Privacy. Uncheck the boxes for "I consent to Internet-based Advertisements" and "I consent to Viewing Information Services" (this is their fancy term for tracking what you watch). Select Reset PSID (Personalized Service ID). This completely wipes the advertising profile they've built on you so far. Go to Settings > General > Smart Features and turn off "Autorun Smart Hub". This stops the ad-heavy home bar from popping up automatically every time you turn on the TV. 5. Block on Your Home Router If you know how to log into your home internet router's settings, you can add a URL filter or blocklist. Add these two domains to your router's blacklist: samsungads.com config.samsungads.com When the TV tries to call home to grab the latest advertisement image, your router will quietly drop the request, leaving the ad spaces blank or completely removing them. I paid for the TV, and I should not have to look at their commercials just to change the input! And neither should you...

Was looking for a refrigerator to replace our existing one. Criteria was to be silver, over 600L capacity, French Doors and have inbuilt filtered… Read more

water and ice-making capabilities (plumbed). One such fridge that (almost) met this criteria was the Samsung SRF7500BB. This was a “black” fridge which we were not happy about (always had white then silver) but it met all other criteria and was currently "on special". Turned out it was finished in a smooth “anti-fingerprint” finish that was more grey than black. Additionally, numerous random but close spaced horizontal lines “broke” the surface and we have grown to quite like this finish. I have attempted to show it in an attached photo but you will need to allow for reflections which can’t be avoided on the smooth satin finish.

SETTING UP - Upon delivery we were left to hook it up to our existing electrical wall outlet preinstalled plumbing outlet (must have for this fridge). Next, needed to remove the protector plastic from the drawers and shelves and insert them into place. We were told to let it sit and settle in place for a couple of hours before turning it on. Once this was done, it took an hour or two to reach set operating temperatures. Therefore, make sure you have provision to store your fridge contents for a few hours. We had old polystyrene foam boxes which we fitted out with ice bricks plus we could store frozen contents in a freezer we had in the garage. I did notice it took a day for the temperatures to stabilise throughout the new fridge as evidenced by a manual thermometer I was able to move around inside to check. To completely fill the two ice trays took the fridge close to four days but to do the same now only requires a solid two days.

OPERATION - Controls are minimal and hidden down in the hinge area of the right fridge door. A digital readout supplies both the fridge and freezer temperatures as well as being able to turn on/off the water jug and the ice-makers. It will also alert you if the water filter needs replacing as well as the ability to “snooze” the alert. You can also activate “Power Cool” and “Power Freezing” for rapid temperature drops. Should note that after setting the desired fridge and freezer temperature, both the readouts then revert to displaying the actual temperatures in the fridge. While placing the controls inside the fridge (as opposed to being on the outside of a door) makes them slightly less accessible, that is also an advantage giving a minimalist appearance. Opening the doors is achieved by placing your fingers under the two doors (top of for two freezer doors) to access the recessed handles. Be aware the doors are not fully self closing but need to be pushed to overcome resistance for the last 6cm or so of travel. There is, however, an alarm that sounds if the door is left open (except for the Beverage Door which does not alert you and needs a firm push to close as it uses a physical latch.

BEVERAGE CENTRE – This fridge features a “beverage centre” which is essentially a door in a door. Its handle is also recessed and sits alongside the handle to open the left refrigerator door. This exposes the Beverage Centre which consists of a cold water dispenser, a 1.4L water jug (BPA free with infuser) and two shelves to store drinks. You won’t fit bottles (these can be put in the right hand door) as one is 21cm tall and the other is 14cm tall but it is useful for cans and glasses. Each time the jug is returned to the fridge it automatically “tops up” to full with cold filtered water. Should note that the fridge has a filter for the water jug, ice cubes and cold water dispenser that needs to be replaced about every six months (Samsungs recommended time based on average use). There will be a warning for when this is needed on the control panel. Surrounds for the cold water dispenser are all plastic so won’t have the issue we experienced on the previous fridge with surface rust forming around the base of the dispenser. There are two removable ice trays as the freezer makes two different size ice. The one on the left creates a tray of standard size ice cubes while the one to its left creates smaller ice (approx. 2cm x 1.5cm x 1.5cm) which Samsung calls “Ice Bites”. The freezer monitors levels in these trays and automatically tops them up as needed. The ice drops into the tray from above about every six to eight hours. Curiously, the “Ice Bites” frequently drop into the tray as a group looking like a frozen chocolate bar (see attached photo). As I said earlier, it takes a solid two days to fully refill if you empty them. The only downside I have encountered is the fridge fills the two trays to capacity. Whilst they are removable, I usually just use the supplied scoop to get the ice while the trays are still in place. Samsung decided to make the tray sides all the same height so inevitably when scooping, some ice will fall over the back of the tray and into the drawers below. Only a small issue but easily fixed if the back of the trays were higher.

NOISE – This is without doubt the quietest fridge/freezer I have ever had. Even in a quiet night time environment it is completely silent. The exception, of course, is the infrequent sound of ice dropping into trays (with the subsequent sound of running water as they refill) along with that of the jug when it is refilling. If you are looking for a quiet fridge this is it.

OVERALL – Have no regrets purchasing this fridge. It works well and goes about its business in the quietest way possible. Adjustability of internal shelving is good and you should have no issue fitting tall items. It has two flush mounted, bright white, LED interior lights that leaves no dark corners and comes with a two year warranty (ten years on the compressor). Based on my experience over the last five months, I would recommend this refrigerator.

WHAT I LIKED:- Quiet operation, Dual ice makers, Inbuilt water jug and water dispenser, External satin grey “faux textured” finish, bright spacious interior.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:- Backs of ice trays should be higher, Doors not fully self closing, Don’t forget you will need to have it plumbed into your house plumbing, Noise from ice falling can be startling in a quiet house at night until you get used to it (Yes, I really am battling to find things I don’t like)

I belive this TV doesn't have one. The reason for the 1 star review is the complications I have gone through with Samsung. They should know there own TV models and if they have a microphone switch or not. This TV does not. The only way to speak to the TV with voice assistant is via the smart things app on your phone. If I had of known this, I would not have bought this TV. My last TV had the microphone button and my 6 year old used it all the time. He now can't do that as he does not have a phone. DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT A MICROPHONE ON THE REMOTE OR TV.

I have gone around and around in circles with Samsung. They do not even know their own TV models. They keep telling me there is a microphone, but there is not. I work with tech in my job..I know what I'm doing.

DO NOT BUY THIs TV. If i could give it 0 stars I would.

They say the fridge is from 2002, but I bought it brand new at Harvey Norman in 2012 - not advertised as an old model either. One Samsung employee said to go on Ebay - which I already had. I am over 70 and got muscle cramps when holding down the button on my old Dyson, but this one has a very easy on/off button, which is my favourite feature. customer service. On reflection, at least we had a few months decent use out of the unit, so that was a better experience than dealing with Samsung which has been overwhelmingly unsatisfactory.

The unit would be awesome if it wasn't inherently flawed, there are plenty of threads online with people trying to work around the problems with it.

So having taken the unit out to their authorised service people and having been told to expect it back in a week to 10 days, Samsung had no contact for about 3 - 4 weeks, after following it up it gets escalated and oh yes it needs a new motor but there are none in Australia and none on the way. Samsung wont replace it as they have no stock (as at Feb '26) and they wont organise it from a retailer like Harvey Norman who seem to have stock albeit at a higher price, and Samsung will only pay back the purchase price paid to them and not the cost of any aftercare warranty etc.

The kicker is to get the refund they seem to need up to 30 business days (6 weeks) to be able to make a payment, after the customer has satisfied all of their requirements.

Date of Purchase: Washer 19.06.2025/ Dryer 29.06.2025 Products: Samsung Washing Machine and Samsung Heat Pump Dryer Issue Duration: Date of purchase/… Read more

from out of box – Present (4+ months ongoing) ________________________________________ Summary of Issue Both purchased units have been excessively loud since new, to the extent that they disrupt normal daily living and restrict use. • Washing Machine: Emits extremely loud noises during draining cycles — far beyond what would be considered normal for comparable Samsung models or other brands of similar or even lesser quality • Dryer: Starts relatively quiet/ normal level, but after ~20 minutes develops a persistent increasingly loud buzzing and mechanical drone, sounding similar to a “propellor plane in the laundry.” Both issues were reported to Samsung promptly, and despite multiple service interactions via online chat, phone call, technician callout, unit taken away for repair neither product has been repaired successfully nor replaced, and the problems persist. ________________________________________ Timeline of Events • June/ July 2025: Units purchased and delivered around 17 July (washer) and a little after this for the dryer delivery • Mid- Late July 2025: Both faults reported via Samsung chat support. Online technicians confirmed likely faults and booked a service visit, assuring us "we could be confident that the noises were not normal and a fault would likely be found" • 4 August 2025: Technician assigned by Samsung came to 'assess' the units, the visit lasted approximately 15 minutes. o For the washer, technician said noise was “normal” but could replace the pump if it persisted. o For the dryer, technician suspected a compressor fault and said Samsung would follow up. • Post-visit: Samsung marked both jobs “completed” in their system — no repairs were performed, and no communication followed. • August–October 2025: Multiple calls, emails, broken promises, and escalation delays and got no-where. Samsung staff advised another assessment was needed would incur call-out fees if no fault found, despite earlier confirmation of faults by online staff and verbally by their technician- this is completely unethical and seems a way to dissuade customers from seeking resolution. • 28 October 2025: I gave up and accepted their terms, Dryer finally collected for repair (almost three months later). Samsung claimed to have replaced the compressor to fix the noise, yet the unit was returned with the loud buzzing remains unchanged. • November 2025: Samsung insists on another reassessment for both units, again threatening possible call-out charges. But still, everything remains unresolved. Given we have a young baby, being without laundry facilities whilst they continue to 'reassess' the units is not acceptable. • Independent feedback via multiple JustAnswer qualified appliance technicians confirmed the submitted videos show noises that are not normal and warrant warranty repair or replacement by Samsung ________________________________________ Breach of Australian Consumer Law I understand that under the Australian Consumer Law, when I buy products and services they come with automatic guarantees that they will work and do what I asked for and what they are advertised to do. Under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), these products qualify as major failures, entitling me to a refund or replacement. 1. Product Not as Advertised Samsung’s own website states: “Samsung dryers are generally very quiet.” https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshoot/TSG10007109/

Image Take from Samsung Website (unable to load onto here) A quick google search of our dryer shows that Samsung advertise it as 'quiet operation' **This product is not quiet and therefore does not match the description or advertising claims. This constitutes a major failure under section 260(a) of the ACL.

2. Product Not Fit for Purpose The dryer and washer noise disrupts normal life and prevents rest in our home — particularly affecting our three-month-old baby’s sleep and it is simply just too irritating to have on if we are in the house As a result, the units are not reasonably fit for the purpose for which they were sold, breaching section 55 of the ACL.

3. We Would Not Have Purchased Had the Issue Been Known Had we known about the excessive noise issues, we would not have purchased either product. This meets the criteria for a major failure under section 260(a) of the ACL.

4. Failure to Remedy Within a Reasonable Time Samsung has had over three months to repair the products, with multiple service delays and unsuccessful repair Under the ACL, if a repair is not provided within a reasonable time, the consumer is entitled to reject the goods and request a refund (section 259(3)). ________________________________________ Summary of Failures Category Description ACL Clause Misrepresentation Products advertised as quiet s.260(a) Unfit for Purpose Excessive noise prevents household use s.55 Not of Acceptable Quality Defective operation from purchase s.54 Failure to Remedy Months of failed service attempts s.259(3) Major Failure Would not have purchased if aware s.260(c) ________________________________________ Requested Resolution Given the ongoing unresolved issues, failed repair attempts, and multiple breaches under the Australian Consumer Law, I am seeking: - A full refund for both the washing machine and dryer, including any delivery or collection costs incurred. - Confirmation of collection and refund arrangements within 7 business days.

Given the lack of appropriate response from Samsung I have today lodged a formal complaint with Consumer Protection WA and the ACCC under the Australian Consumer Law Major Failure provisions. ________________________________________ Additional Note on Corporate Conduct Samsung’s own stated values include People, Excellence, and Integrity. The lack of accountability, conflicting information, and use of “call-out charge” deterrents directly contradict these principles and undermine consumer trust. ________________________________________

My Samsung ducted air conditioning system was installed as part of my home build in 2017. Recently, the system developed an E320 fault code and… Read more

stopped operating properly. This has been very frustrating because a ducted air conditioning system is a major household installation, and I expected it to last much longer without this kind of serious fault.

I contacted an air conditioning technician, and I was told that E320 is a common issue on some Samsung systems. The technician explained that the unit may be repairable, but also said there is no guarantee the same problem will not happen again in the future. That was especially disappointing to hear, because it suggests the repair may only be a temporary fix rather than a long-term solution. I then contacted Samsung Australia for support. Their response was that the system is outside the 5-year warranty period, so they would not cover it under warranty. I understand that warranties have limits, but for a built-in ducted air conditioning system, I believe consumers reasonably expect better durability and reliability than this.

What concerns me most is not only the fault itself, but the overall long-term dependability of the product. When a central air conditioning system fails with a known or common issue and even a repair technician cannot give confidence that it will remain fixed, it raises serious questions about product quality and suitability for Australian conditions.

At this stage, I am left paying for diagnosis and repairs on a system that I believe should have lasted longer. For a premium home appliance that is installed as part of the house, this is not the ownership experience I expected. Based on my experience, I would urge other buyers to carefully consider long-term reliability, repair costs, and after-sales support before choosing Samsung ducted air conditioning.

Never Again - And I mean that across all of Samsung's product line Samsung makes visually impressive hardware, and the Frame TV is a strong concept… Read more

when it comes to design and presentation. However, the overall experience is undermined by the way Samsung manages software, control, and long-term product behaviour.

The ecosystem is heavily locked into SmartThings, a platform that feels mandatory rather than optional, and limits how users can interact with devices they own. Over time, firmware updates have repeatedly changed functionality in ways that reduce control, restrict access to features and APIs, and alter how core functions behave after purchase. In particular, simple features like reliably controlling Art Mode when the TV is not in use have become less consistent and more constrained.

Across three Samsung Frame TVs in my own use, each one behaves differently due to firmware revisions and ongoing changes introduced by Samsung after purchase. This lack of consistency between identical products is frustrating and undermines confidence in the platform. It feels like the goalposts are being moved after the fact, with no real regard for existing owners.

While the Frame TV can still serve its basic purpose as an artwork display for casual users, it comes with the expectation that software behaviour may change at any time, potentially removing or limiting functionality that was previously available. There are also concerns around the level of data being transmitted by the devices, which adds to the lack of trust in the system.

As it stands, I can no longer recommend the Samsung Frame TV. Years ago, I would have strongly endorsed it, but the ongoing erosion of user control, inconsistent firmware behaviour, and restrictive ecosystem design have changed that view completely.

off during normal use. The battery performance is also poor and did not last more than a year, which is unacceptable for a product in this price range.

The vacuum head is poorly designed, and the wheels on the head are fragile and prone to breaking. On this occasion, I simply picked up the vacuum to do a quick clean and parts broke off — it was not dropped or mishandled in any way. Based on the damage, you would think it had been thrown against a wall, but that was not the case.

Overall, this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a Samsung product. For anyone considering this model, I would strongly recommend spending a little extra on a more reliable brand with better build quality and battery longevity.
