Our story We had a perfectly working gas heater and thought it would be a good idea to have it serviced as is recommended to do. Mark serviced the heater, reported that heater was good and working perfectly. When I next turned the heater on later that day, it ran for around 30 minutes, then stopped with an error message. I contacted the company the very next morning who very quickly said, this is a coincidence and has nothing to do with what the technician had done the previous day. There was no technician available for a number of days, scheduled for Friday – appointment was cancelled on the day, rescheduled to Monday, the appointment was again cancelled on the day, rescheduled for Tuesday – technician was clearly “ too busy” to be attending to our system. The system worked when he turned it on, he said he couldn’t find any problem and he didn’t know what was wrong. When I reminded him that it works for around 30 minutes then stops, he said “I’m too busy to wait for that”. He left and the system stopped working after 30 minutes. I rang the company and I was told I had to buy a new system, shall I put you through to sales!! Over the next week we attempted to speak with Management who were always unavailable, on leave, in meetings, then it took another week for them to respond back to us with, not our fault, can’t fix it, need a new system. As we were not convinced that our heater had been attended to affectively, we contacted a different company for a second opinion. Their technician stayed on site until the system stopped working, found that the gas pressure was too high, turned it back to correct level and our heater has been working perfectly ever since, no expensive parts or new system required. ( 2 weeks now, no further issues). I went back to Rite Price with this information looking for feedback and compensation for the inconvenience we have suffered and their lack of service and after waiting yet another week for a response they finally responded and offered “A complimentary service of your system”!!, the one that stopped working immediately after they serviced it. Is that a joke!
