pre-purchase inspection listed on the website. To to point of pickup the vehicle, I have already received and red the inspection report and found no major defects except the transmission was a bit rough which it had not been picked up by the report. I was able to drive the car back to Sydney. On arriving back to Sydney, the transmission started developing knocks between gear change. Later on it was found out the transmission oil is too dirty and the oil level was incorrect. After numerous oil changes the issue was fixed. This car has no access to the engine oil sump plug without removing the engine bay bottom cover. When I did my first engine oil change, I noticed the bottom cover was broken in a few places, only tied up with cable ties. Removing the cover reveals the car was subject to a head collision and the fault was not fixed rather than just covered up. The radiator top and bottom mount were broken and not repaired or replaced so the aircon was not working. The front grill was eventually cracked as the collision damages were only covered by putty and paint and the Aluminium bumper bar behind the front plastic grill was bent beyond being repaired. The car was eventually fully fixed costing thousands. Obviously the Redbook inspection has not met its purposes. This year I need this type of services again and the past experience with Redbook reminds me of not to use this one.

Instant Windscreens & Tinting

My name is Paul Smith and I recently had Instant Windscreens and Tinting, Belmont branch, remove the old tinting, and apply new tinting on my car.… Read more
WHAT A MISTAKE. After picking up my car, I was stunned to see a mess left everywhere, and damage - see photos. There was old tint everywhere. There were stains on my car's interior from the steaming removal of old tint. There were bubbles on every single one of my 7 windows tinted. The manager Shane said they will go away soon. They did not. He then told me that the air bubbles were flecks of paint on the outside of my windows. My rear demister had also been damaged and no longer worked. It had been working prior to the tint removal. Shane later told me that the tint installer who did my job had only ever done one other car tint in Australia. Instant Windscreens asserts on their website that their technicians are very experienced and professional. And that every job is quality checked before customer pickup. I demanded a refund and restitution for damage, but not successful. I have had to instruct a lawyer to take out a claim in the Magistrates Court. This review in its entirety has been completed by Paul Smith, using my joint email address shared with my wife.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU My young son took his car to Auto Masters Canning Vale on 04-02-2026 expecting honest advice and fair pricing. Instead,… Read more
he walked away with a bill of over $2,400.
Yes, a battery was included in the work, but the price charged for it — along with the overall invoice — was, in our view, completely unreasonable. As a young driver with limited mechanical knowledge, he trusted the advice he was given. Unfortunately, that trust was not respected.
What made the situation even more concerning was that he was also told the car needed new tyres, even though those tyres had only travelled about 10,000 km. Our previous set of the same tyres lasted roughly 40,000 km, so that recommendation immediately raised serious questions.
After reading through many other reviews, it is hard not to notice similar concerns being raised repeatedly — high bills, unexpected recommendations, and customers leaving feeling they were pushed into work they did not truly understand or expect. Several reviews from women and younger customers describe very similar experiences, which is troubling.
Before the standard response appears saying “we can’t find the booking”, “this isn’t an authentic review”, or “there was a video explaining the work”, let me be clear:
• This was a real visit to Auto Masters Canning Vale • The date was 04-02-2026 • The invoice total was over $2,400 • One of the recommendations was for new tyres at only 10,000 km
The issue isn’t that work was done — the issue is pricing, transparency, and trust. When a young person takes their car in, they should receive honest guidance, not leave feeling like they have been talked into excessive costs.
I strongly suggest anyone — particularly young drivers, women, and families — get a second opinion before approving major work here.
In our view, this was not service — it was opportunistic selling dressed up as advice.
This experience left us feeling that a young customer was seen as an easy sale rather than someone who deserved honest advice.

Reason, windscreen was done in the morning, one person “tried” recalibrating the windscreen in the morning, couldn’t do it. So it then sat there for 5-6 hours because they couldn’t be bothered getting back to it. Finally got in it. They didn’t put my $1200 dash cam back on, went back in. They came and put it on. Now it doesn’t work at all. Complaint straight through to insurance company who sent me to them. Will never let Novas touch my car ever again. The individual who “tried” to celebrate it got foul for being called out on bad excuses. They also took it for a 6 minute drive while i was standing there waiting. 6 minutes at $3.89.9 a litre. Not impressed. No regard for client time or loss of wages because they have to have it “all day” because of the 10 minute calibration. What a joke of a place.

provided the exact hub-centric ring dimensions required for the install and made it clear that if the parts could not be sourced in time, the install could be postponed.
Even so, the job went ahead. The technicians removed my tyres, swapped the TPMS sensors, and mounted the new rims straight out of the box, only to discover at the end that the wheels could not be fitted without the hub-centric rings. This all occurred right before a long weekend, with the manager not on site. The install then had to be completely undone so I could get my car back, resulting in unnecessary handling of my wheels.
When my wheels were returned, they were already damaged. All four wheel boxes had foot marks on them, and the wheels themselves showed damage that was not present prior to the install, including marks near and on the machined lip. This reflects a clear lack of care when handling expensive aftermarket wheels. The manager later confirmed over the phone that this should not have happened.
While the receptionist was empathetic and did try to help, I did not appreciate being asked whether I had discussed this with the shop I purchased the wheels from. I had already provided the required information prior to the install, and it felt inappropriate to have responsibility shifted back onto me after such a significant error.
A resolution was discussed; they also offered to fix the damage they caused on my machined outer lip and tried to downplay the damage to the body of the wheel that gets covered by the tyres as normal, but in the end, this damage is visible. Based on everything that had already occurred and what was explained to me, I did not believe the proposed fix was worth pursuing, as it would have required handing the wheels back to the same team that had already committed the negligence. I was offered half-price TPMS sensors, which is laughably insufficient considering my $3,000 set of rims was damaged. Saving a couple of hundred dollars in sensors does nothing to address the mishandling or repair the damage, making the offer irrelevant.
I have since taken my car to another specialist workshop, where the wheels were installed without any issues or damage. I am left with damaged wheels, wasted time, additional transport costs, and the inconvenience of sourcing parts myself. Additionally, the manager hung up on me when I clearly stated I never wanted to hear from them again. This was unprofessional and unjustifiable; I was entirely in the right throughout the conversation.

they were finished. Only for me to find a list of things that they supposedly found to be wrong with the Air Con and told me it would cost $2500 to fix it! I was charged around $77 for the diagnosis. I was willing to pay the $250 for the Air Con in my car to be fixed by Ultra Tune. They said they had taken the gas out of the AirCon altogether because of some "contamination" that had been found by them.
I was recommended a Mobile Air Con expert, who only repairs car Air Cons as his business.. A Mechanic friend came along when the expert came to look at my car. He examined all parts of the Air Con and said there was nothing wrong with it! He re-gassed it and said that Ultra Tune should never have taken the gas out in the first place! He told my Mechanic friend that it was something to do with the switches/ connections, but, he does not work on the electricals in this area.
He charged around $150 (with having to re-gas it!!! ) I am a lady Pensioner who is VERY disappointed in all of this with Ultra Tune, because I trusted in what Ultra Tune told me. Thank God! I have friends who persuaded me to get a second opinion. Sorry, I will never trust Ultra Tune again!
