I was considering buying. Unfortunately, during the inspection, the vehicle was externally damaged.

RedBook Inspect did acknowledge responsibility for the damage and agreed to cover the cost of repairing the vehicle, which I appreciate. However, my experience with the handling of the claim afterwards has been extremely disappointing.

I was asked to obtain quotes for a hire vehicle while the repair process was being organised. After providing the requested information, I was later advised that my claim for hire vehicle costs would be refused. This means that, despite RedBook Inspect accepting responsibility for causing the damage, I would be left out of pocket for the cost of alternative transport during the estimated four-day repair period.

I believe this is an important consideration for anyone booking a vehicle inspection. A vehicle inspection is intended to provide confidence and peace of mind, but if damage occurs during the inspection process, customers should be aware that the company’s responsibility may be limited to the direct repair costs only.

I would encourage anyone considering using this company to carefully read the terms and conditions before booking an inspection. Although the company may cover the cost of repairing damage they cause, there may be limitations around other losses or expenses that occur as a result.

I would also suggest that anyone selling a vehicle carefully considers whether they are comfortable having their vehicle inspected by this company. A vehicle inspection should provide confidence to both buyers and sellers, and damage occurring during an inspection can create a very stressful situation for everyone involved.

Another concern was that RedBook Inspect did not handle the matter through insurance, meaning I was required to deal directly with the company rather than through an insurance process. This left me navigating the consequences of an incident that was not my fault.

Overall, while I acknowledge that RedBook Inspect accepted responsibility for the physical damage, the way the claim has been managed afterwards has left me disappointed. Based on my experience, I would not choose to use this service again and would recommend others carefully consider the potential risks before booking an inspection.

care", I mistakenly thought my local Mycar would be a good choice to replace my car tyres, so recently booked in and paid in advance because they had to order new tyres in. Everything seemed fine until I noticed the "highly trained technician" had jacked up my car using the front and rear suspension control arm bushes as jacking points, rather than using Mercedes Benz factory designated jacking points located on the reinforced rocker panels at the sills. Control arm rubber bushes are not designed to take the full weight of vehicles and is a known weak point on MBs because they're fluid filled and prone to splitting and leaking even with normal use, let alone loading them up with the full vertical weight of a 1500kg car. To make things worse, later inspection showed the removeable plastic swing arm cover beneath the rear control arm was damaged as a result of using it as a jacking point. When I spoke to the technician about my concerns he said the workshop lift used to fit tyres is not designed for sill jacking points and vehicles fitted with tyres at Mycar Toormina were always lifted this way. However, a simple online search shows mechanical engineers and Mercedes experts alike overwhelmingly warn against using control arms as jacking points because they are easily damaged, as they are mostly aluminium arms on modern cars with rubber bushes and the force of the full load of the vehicle could easily compress the rubber bushes, deform the arm and suspension components, affect steering and cause premature wear. The technician later admitted the workshop does have the correct two post lift suitable for vehicles with sill jacking points like mine.....so go figure! So the upshot is - what I thought would be a straightforward, risk and hassle free experience from a company of "experts" who "care", has ended up being one of frustration and anxiety as to whether more damage has been done to my car in addition to what is apparent so far. This experience has certainly been "beyond my dreams", but for all the wrong reasons. My advice to others would be to avoid this "caring" company of "experts" altogether.

oil, oil filter and engine flush. The only thing he really did was diagnose a water leak and give me a huge list of problems. No phone call to fix anything just a bad attitude and a whopping bill. Not a likeable or customer service guy at all. Will never go back there. Do not recommend.
