During the call, the doctor appeared rushed and repeatedly interrupted and spoke over me while I was trying to explain the reason for my consultation. He then stated he could not hear me properly and that he would refresh the browser, after which he abruptly ended the video call and never reconnected.

I later received an email stating that my request had been cancelled due to incomplete medical history. My concern is not about whether the referral was approved, but the unprofessional conduct during the consultation and the complete lack of follow-up after the call was terminated.

emailing a staff member named “[Name Removed].” That said, the replies felt automated and read like they were generated by ChatGPT rather than written by a real person.

My overall impression is that Kantoko’s business model prioritises revenue over patient outcomes. The system is rigid, impersonal, and designed to offload a significant amount of work and cost onto the customer, while still charging above-average fees for what is ultimately an inferior service.

Before they will even consider you for treatment, you are required to organise and pay for extensive testing yourself, including blood work, an ECG, a lengthy personal questionnaire, and a second questionnaire completed by someone who knows you well. This process is time-consuming, expensive, and entirely front-loaded onto the customer.

While this might be acceptable if it led to a smooth process afterward, it does not. After submitting everything, I was told my ECG, performed by my own doctor, was unacceptable because it did not include the raw trace data. This requirement was never clearly stated during the process or in the documentation provided for my doctor. Despite this being an administrative technicality, there was no flexibility whatsoever.

As a business owner, I understand the importance of policies. However, it makes little sense to accept a doctor’s referral and pathology results as valid, yet reject an ECG unless the raw trace is supplied so it can be reinterpreted internally.

In short, I obtained a refund and went to another provider. The contrast was immediate. The alternative service was smooth, professional, and genuinely patient-focused.

I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I decided to pay for another medical certificate through updoc and received my certificate within the hour at a cheaper price.

I asked for a refund but was told they are only possible if you get over charged.

If you need your medical certificate promptly I would not bother using this company.

Absolute scam company. Cancels appointments 5 minutes before repeatedly. Purports to be a legit clinic run by doctors but website only includes one doctor. Plan on making report to health care complaints commission. No ethics at all

online earlier and she has never turned up although the system indicated she was running late initially but after 15 minutes later the appointment has expired automatically. Such a time waste and disappointment especially when I was in pain and waiting in the early morning.

I am surprised BUPA has partnership with this company considering all of these negative reviews here. Good luck!
