is why I gave a 4 instead of a 5: At pickup, I found out that a gas bottle is not included in the rental and needs to be purchased for €65. Usually, the gas bottle is already provided and you only need to refill it if you use it. That’s totally fine, but it would be better to clearly mention this in advance. I booked the van from Munich to Milan. After confirming the booking, I purchased flight tickets from Milan Malpensa Airport (since Indie Campers’ Milan office is located there). However, at pickup in Munich, I was informed that I had to return the van not in Milan, but in Bergamo. As a result, I had to take a taxi from Bergamo to Malpensa Airport for €226,40 in order to catch my flight. It would be important to clearly specify the correct city — in my case, Bergamo — or at least indicate it as “Milan (Bergamo Airport)”. As a result, I didn’t manage to save on this trip, which is supposed to be one of the key advantages of your service(

9pm and that was the last "shuttle" bus they had. Why as for your flight details if you are not going to really care if the flight is late (and not that long after you left). Might as well book another service as why would you want to take the risk that they will leave you there. Con-X-Ion, do you wonder why the numbers of people booking your service is reducing. Out of my group I was not the only one that had issues. Others had issues such as not being able to contact the service and service not having the correct date of pickup.

Tina was at the airport when we arrived, and chatted with us all the way to the depot. The car was clean and well maintained and perfect for our needs. The prices are great and as they state, we weren't charged any "extras" what we were quoted is exactly what we paid (unlike other car hire). We were picked up in the Gold Coast and dropped of in Brisbane after hours without issues. The Service is so far above the big car hire companies I wouldn't recommend anyone else for a trip to the Gold Coast. If I could rate 10 stars I would! A big thank you for a seamless hire!

An absolute scam, they'll take your funds without your knowledge or consent! – I rented a vehicle through Turo 7/8/24. The pickup and return went well, and as far as I knew, that was the end of it. Today, 12/2/25 I received the… Read more

following email:

"I hope you enjoyed your recent trip with Adrian on reservation 35103658. I'm following up about an issue that's come up. During your reservation, you incurred a parking fine on 7/Aug/2024 evident with the fine notice uploaded by your host in trip photos. As the offence carries a financial penalty we've charged your card on file $151.82 (including a 3% processing fee)."

This was over 6 months ago, and at no stage whatsoever was I informed about any alleged fine. I literally have no idea of when, where, how much the fine was, what the fine was for (there are many different types of 'parking fines'), who issued this fine or even an infringement number. The host and Turo had all my details, my full name, phone number, address, and licence number, and they would've had the option to nominate me as the driver. I have been provided with no information, evidence or the opportunity to even contest the fine in court (if it really exists). I've reported this with my bank, and will also be contacting Consumer Affairs and the ACCC.

call me drama because she tried to charge the card two hours later after closing and I was at coles at the register checking out so money was spent and needed to transfer more to cover the $100. Nasty, derogatory and hates customers treats all like scum of the universe when things are not done immediately even tho she may take hours after speaking. Won't give you two seconds to think, will give you anxiety by the way she barks at you.

Edit to say- Both my wife and work full time and can most definitely afford $100 plus the week. We are getting our car fixed at the moment hence the need for car rental. We have already rented and picked a car up elsewhere. You are a hateful human. I told you I was dyslexic- you responded with- so not very smart. You didn't take the payment which had been sitting for almost 3 hours. We assumed YOU were not taking it until Monday when we would be coming in via a taxi. I feel like you just want to hate and make financial assumptions. We were at the checkout and just spent the money and were transferring more. I apologised multiple times for my disability. You were cruel and you were the one making it hard. It's not far and slanderous to say we can't get together such a tiny amount of money. Regardless you need to learn customer service. You don't get away with being horrible and demanding by calling people laughable and attempting to discredit them. You didn't do business in a timely manner one would think when you said you needed the $100 NOW you would charge the card at the time. You lack of empathy and emotional intelligence Is absolutely astounding. Grow up Debbie start doing business professionally, don't be snapper, demeaning and rude. For anyone else reading this- you only have to see the other reviews to see this is a pattern. Debbie is a narcissistic human, this is how she responds to everything and how she treats people on what appears to be her bad mental health days. Go to anyone but deb and the crew- you may land her on a good day or a absolutely nasty no stuffs given day like my wife and ourselves . You only have to see her response to me and others to see my claims of being treated like scum are warranted. Berating people and accusing them of nor having such a small sum of money is absolutely pathetic. Deb and crew are welcome to see our accounts for proof but they would not like to be made a fool of- and as iv said we rented a car for not one but two weeks not an hour later. Why would anyone mess around trying to hire a vehicle if they didn't have the money? Who stuffed YOU over that makes you think simple misunderstandings are people messing you around? What has happened to you that you think hard working people would what? Call up to play silly games with you? How you act is ridiculous not everyone is out to hurt you stuff you over deb, take 5 minutes to look at yourself and ur actions. We will be contacting a lawyer RE- you putting my wife's mobile phone number and full name on the internet. Also we live at fairfeild she works 40 minutes from us at fairfeild which is only 10/15 minutes from the city. We told you that Debbie. I think you have been very confused alot today- you were the first place we called to be clear not sure why that matters. Do you think it's lawful to post someone's name and personal number online? Is this how you handle things? Dox people? I did call to resolve this she swore at me at called me gay girls, when asked if that was a homophobic slur she continued to berated and attempt to intimate with yelling and swear words. We will have asked to have the mobile number only removed from her response to bring her response in like with the 1988 privacy act here in Australia. We will not only be contacting a lawyer but contacting OAIC now due to her drunk and intimidating way of speaking. We are not going to stoop as low as Debbie and post her personal address and mobile number doxxing her like she did to us over on Google.

experience; it is a meticulously designed financial trap.

Here is how they operate their extortion scheme:

1. THE "JUNK INSURANCE" BAIT & SWITCH: I paid top dollar (~$55/day) for their highest tier "Superior Protection". At corporate SIXT branches (like Sydney Airport), the same price gets you a $0 excess "All Inclusive" cover. But this shady franchise uses the trusted SIXT brand to hide a MASSIVE stacked excess ($2,200 base + $2,200 Single Vehicle Accident fee = $4,400 liability) deep in the fine print. You pay for premium peace of mind and get absolutely zero protection.

2. EXTREME DURESS & HOSTAGE TACTICS: When I returned the van with a very minor, localized scratch, the branch staff engaged in highly illegal behavior. They unlawfully refused to let me leave the premises until I paid a $2,200 "excess" on the spot. Fearing for my safety and freedom of movement, I was forced to pay under extreme duress.

3. THE DOUBLE-DIP EXTORTION: Fast forward a week, their "Claims Department" sends me a formal legal notice threatening to default my Equifax credit file if I don't pay ANOTHER $2,200. Why? Because they magically produced a grossly inflated repair quote of exactly $4,448.10 for a tiny scratch, and their goal is to extract their maximum $4,400 stacked limit from me.

Do not trust their positive reviews. This franchise uses coercive debt collection, false imprisonment tactics, and bait-and-switch insurance to milk customers dry.

If you have been scammed by them, DO NOT PAY. Report them immediately to NSW Fair Trading, AFIA, and the ACCC. Protect your wallet, your credit score, and your safety—book literally anywhere else!

followed procedure by reporting the damage, along with photos. As the car was still drivable it was agreed that I would continue with the rental and fill in paperwork when returning the car. This is when the problems began. To cut a long story short, when I returned the car and completed an incident report I explained that I had third party excess cover and understood that I would pay upfront for the damage excess and would need a damage invoice in order to recoup the amount from my insurer. I paid AUD1740 upfront and was told I would receive the damage invoice by email. Then it took 10 weeks to get a damage invoice. At one stage I was provided with a quotation, but this is not the proof I needed for my insurer. I was told, after I had left the country, that it could take up to 8 weeks for the damage invoice to be provided. However most third party insurers have a 60 day limit for a claim. In my case my insurer was patient - more patient than I was. After a month I emailed weekly requesting a damage invoice. The replies always came from a different person in the claims department who clearly had not read my previous correspondence. Budget Customer Service also ignored me or sent me pathetic little notes saying they had not yet generated the invoice. After nine weeks I contacted the Australian Car Rental Conciliation Service - a marvellous organisation which has a car hire customer charter, which Budget was clearly in breach of. They achieved a result in one week - a return of one third of my upfront payment and a full damage invoice. I believe it I had not been persistent and had not used the Car Rental Conciliation Service, I would still be waiting and might never have obtained the invoice. I wonder if this is their normal practice with customers who have third party excess insurance cover. My insurer, AIG Ireland, another marvellous organisation, reimbursed me within two days of receiving the damage invoice. I hope this review helps anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

I hired a PopCar one day. It was the worst decision I've made recently. Picking up the car was fine. My problem arose when I intended to return the… Read more

vehicle to the same spot.

When I finished my booking, I returned to the car parking spot I picked up the vehicle to find there was another car parked in the car parking bay I picked up the PopCar.

There wasn't another spot available (I was returning the vehicle to one of the busiest parts of Sydney: Manly), so my option was to either leave it in the middle of the road, or leave it in the parking spot next to it, which happened to be a disabled parking spot. I chose to leave it in the disable spot next to the designated PopCar parking spot, as this was the least disruptive method of returning the car.

I later find that PopCar charged me a fee as I had incurred a fine for leaving it in the disabled spot. This was a $25 fee additional to the $700 fine and 1 demerit point that NSW Govt have issued.

I'm appalled that PopCar does not guarantee 'designated' parking spots for their cars upon return. It's a huge flaw in their service that paying customers are then penalised for.

It's a joke that the company don't take any responsibility to prevent other cars using 'designated' parking spots when you are obliged to return the vehicle to one.
