after a few days on the beach. It didnt get as hot either as my old one used to do around the hose connection. Extremely happy with it and hopefully will serve me well for many years to come. Set the solar panels up on the beach for 2 days charging a lead acid 70 amp hr battery. It run the fridge and a strip light without even looking like going flat. I checked the voltage across the terminals while charging and got 13.85 volt consistently even thou it was mainly overcast. The solar controller outputs 17.6 volt not coupled to the battery which shows its working to its specification. Both these of these items are a great addition to the camping set up. No doubt to me that the 4wd Super centre products are on the mark for price and quality, have payed a lot more for inferior products in the past.

unreliable product. I bought a 120Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery from Outbax Camping on 3/10/2022. It was fitted in my car by an auto electrician. It is charged by a 40A dc/dc charger and a 200W solar panel. I run a single 45 litre Engel fridge off the battery. It worked well until early 2025 (well within the warranty period) when it started giving trouble and wouldn't hold a charge overnight despite being fully charged prior. I contacted Outbax, sent photos and videos as requested and got no help from them, just constant delays, despite telling them I was leaving on an extended caravanning trip around the country. No company, including Battery World, were prepared to test the battery. Outbax told me to send it back to them for testing at my own cost. I live in Brisbane and they are in Melbourne. They have no agent or outlet in Queensland. The quotes for transporting it were almost as high as the cost of a new battery, which I told Outbax. Outbax were not interested, they just delayed so much that eventually I was forced to leave on my trip without any action from Outbax. I have an email trail with photos and videos supporting my correspondence with them, all well within the warranty period. The battery has been nothing but trouble on my trip, going flat constantly, and forcing me to run a cable from my caravan to run the fridge/freezer overnight. I have now had enough. I am forced to replace the battery but feel it is my duty to point out my severe disappointment and frustration with Outbax Camping, and also with the quality of this useless VoltX battery which has been nothing but trouble. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone buying one of these batteries.

shipping, which clearly stated 2-day delivery. After two days, only the accessories arrived — the actual tent (the main thing I ordered) didn’t. I called them and was told “it was too big for the truck” and that it would arrive “tomorrow.”

Tomorrow came. No tent.

I called again. This time it was “the next day.”

Then Friday came, and suddenly the story changed to “it will arrive in 5 days.” At that point I asked if I could simply pick it up from the depo, since clearly shipping wasn’t happening. Their response? “Maybe, we’ll let you know.” They never did.

After all that, they offered a refund. Fine. But when I called the next day to check on it, they told me I would need to post the accessories back myself, wait for them to receive them, and only then would they process the refund.

So let’s recap the adventure: • Paid extra for express shipping • Didn’t receive the main item • Given different promises every day • No follow-up to help me • Then told I need to spend more time and effort returning items just to get a refund for their mistake

This was an incredibly frustrating experience. For a well-known Australian outdoor retailer, the logistics, communication, and customer service were shockingly poor.

Camping gear is supposed to help people get outdoors — not trap them in a customer service loop.

Mean while they have my full payment of $479.08.

to let me know how long the delay was and to offer me the option of waiting for the items to come in and send everything in one package or receiving the items they had now and sending the outstanding items as soon as they came in. I took the second option with no extra costs for two deliveries. The first package came with good tracking and the correct items, Mandy called and emailed to let me know the second package was on it’s way ( in the time frame I was originally told) all items were as described and very well made and packaged. It has been a pleasure to do business with a company that provides a great level of service and goes the extra mile to do what they say they will do.

alluminium rail and all the uprights are plastic, thin plastic at that. Any weight or pressure from load or a rope holding down any sort of load would pull the rails clear of the rack. They are just a decorative piece and serve no functional use at all. Do not buy them. I patd 266 dollars now A1 roof racks have quoted 153 dollars in frieght to pick them up for return for a partial refund. May as well throw them in the rubbish, they are useless.To be fair A1 roof racks were quite good to deal with, they just sold me a rubbish product.

their phone when you call them, they don’t respond to you via their text messaging service which is their recommended contact preference. Essentially this company ghosts you and you will never get a response! So if you buy something from them and you want to return it within the 30 days as per their policy, good luck because you’re now stuck with the item. When you buy stuff from this, use a pay service such as PayPal or something similar
