a few days we had realised that our kitchen kick boards had extremely buckled. Our kick boards were already faded over time but they were never buckled. Even our buffet has a buckle in a small section. I messaged him to let him know and even an apology would’ve been ok or acknowledgment would’ve been nice. But he called me to let me know that it was already like that before he started. Very rude and unprofessional! stains and significant brown discolouration left on the items. I specifically told the technician while he was here that I was not happy with the result and that I expected the cleaning to be substantially better than what I had previously achieved myself using a Bunnings carpet cleaning machine. His response was essentially that “that’s how it is.”

For $350, I expected a much better result from a professional cleaning service.

The frills on the runners are still brown and look heavily soiled, while there is also obvious brown discolouration remaining throughout the carpet. When I raised this with the technician, he told me that it would be better to simply cut the frills off because, despite his 40 years of experience, no professional cleaner can clean them properly.

I find this response completely unacceptable. If certain areas cannot be properly cleaned, this should have been explained to me before the service was carried out—not after I have paid $350 and am left with a result that is still visibly unsatisfactory.

I paid for a professional service because I expected a professional result, not to be told that the remaining dirt and stains are simply “how it is.”

When I got back to the house and saw only 2 of the 3 repairs had been done I asked for a proportionate refund, I was told on 31/7 "I will look into the refund immediately", then on 11/8 we were told we had paid $450 (NOT) then on 13/8 were told 1) we paid $560 which included the underlay (NOT) and 2) that as the work was complete there could be no refund. The guys were just lovely, polite and knew what they were doing.

We have cream carpet, two adults and two small kids so it was pretty grubby with some tough stains. The boys did an AMAZING job of spit cleaning the stains and added an anti dustmite cycle as my youngest has dust might allergies.

Due to the day being quite wet, they even came back with a blower to help dry the carpets off. Above and beyond!

Will be booking again and highly recommend them

recommended nearly $500 of additional work on the day. For that money, I expected the property to be handed back properly cleaned. It wasn’t.

The agent found multiple areas that hadn’t been cleaned properly, and Exit Cleaners had to send Ahmed back for a re-clean. Exit Cleaners themselves accepted that a number of those items were within their cleaning scope.

Even the re-clean wasn’t good enough.

The clearest example was the bath. Ahmed told me he couldn’t get the marks out and told me that if another cleaner could remove them, Exit Cleaners would pay for it. The agent’s cleaner then came in and removed them within minutes. That has cost another $150.

That tells you pretty much everything about my experience.

There was also a much more serious issue: personal belongings went missing from the laundry during the original clean. I raised it immediately and provided details of what was missing. Despite weeks of correspondence, that issue still hasn’t been resolved.

I dealt directly with Lisa throughout the complaint. Initially there was plenty of communication and I provided everything requested — photos, the agent’s inspection report, details of the missing belongings and access for the re-clean.

Now that I’m asking Exit Cleaners to actually resolve the outstanding money and belongings, I’m getting no response.

That’s probably the most frustrating part. A cleaning company can make mistakes. What matters is how it deals with them. Having a customer pay $1,125, require a second clean, then require another cleaner to finish part of the job, while also chasing an unresolved issue involving missing belongings — and then simply not responding — is completely unacceptable.

The property eventually got signed off, but not because Exit Cleaners got everything right. It took repeated complaints, a return visit from Ahmed, further cleaning by the agent’s cleaner and a ridiculous amount of chasing from me.

For $1,125, the quality, follow-up and overall experience were nowhere near acceptable.

I would not use Exit Cleaners again and I absolutely would not recommend them.

If Lisa or Exit Cleaners eventually resolves the outstanding issues, I’m happy to update this review. Until then, this is an accurate account of my experience.

I moved into a place that was definitely not cleaned well and had pet urine issues and he took the time to run me through the options and went the extra mile for me to ensure that my carpet was as clean as can be.
