replace the entire unit, and I'm grateful the option exists. That said, the replacement third-party light unit while effective as a similar light source to the original doesn't fit the available mounting screw holes properly. I was only able to put in 1 screw out of 3 as the other 2 holes don't line up well enough, and mounting tape was used instead. Thankfully the light unit is light enough no pun intended, so that's a minimal issue.

during checkout, and the pendant arrived safely. A couple of weeks later, another pendant was broken, so I went back to order a replacement. This time, I didn’t choose the insurance — the first one had arrived fine, so I assumed it wouldn’t be an issue. Unfortunately, the second pendant arrived completely shattered. I contacted Mica, sent through the requested photos, and was told a claim would be processed. A few days later, I received an email saying that because I didn’t select insurance, they wouldn’t be replacing it. That was it. I tried calling them, but their number just redirected me to email. I followed up again via email, explaining the situation and that I was a returning customer. I even offered to pay extra for shipping. It’s been over four weeks — still no response. At this point, it wasn’t even about the $150 — I just needed a working light. I ended up finding the same product through Oz Lighting. I spoke directly with a salesperson named Josh, who was incredibly helpful and responsive. I ordered the pendant (again, without insurance), and it arrived — shattered. I called Josh, and he immediately sent out a replacement. That one also arrived broken. I couldn’t believe it. After another call, we agreed not to risk shipping again, and I arranged for a driver to collect the next one in person. Josh later confirmed that even they were receiving this product damaged from the supplier. Finally, after a few days, two new pendants arrived in perfect condition, and I had my driver inspect and collect them. Thanks to Oz Lighting’s amazing customer service, I now have everything back in order. But after my experience, I’ll never shop with Mica Lighting again — poor communication, no accountability, and no regard for returning customers.

after several attempts to contact the company through emails (most of which were ignored), I had to take the matter to QCAT (Consumer Tribunal). After that, I finally received a response and was instructed to return the fan for a refund.

It’s now late January 2025, and I still haven’t received my refund. Despite multiple follow-up emails demanding my money back, Jd Lighting has continued to ignore me. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior and shows their lack of accountability.

I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this company. I am now planning to escalate my complaint to the Fraud and Tax Office to investigate their dodgy practices. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for reliable service and products.

Would I buy them again? Yes. I plan on building in the future and will be installing them in every bedroom and living space.

Full access through the app if your into that. Links up easily to google home as well. So on them hot days switch them on before your drive home and have that breeze hit you in the face once you open the door!!

They run quite at night. Have the capability of moving lots of air when required and are efficient to run also.

One last point. If it’s for the long hall in your own home. Before you decide not to purchase one, what ever the reason. Look at the one you are going to buy and compare the running cost and how much air it can push. For me personally I’ll always compromise on the price when it comes down to getting the best quality, efficiency and latest tec in the market.

previous furniture company (Gallery Furniture) has numerous negative reviews, and there were Fair Trade proceedings related to failing to supply furniture, with money still owed to many customers. This situation was reportedly covered on A Current Affair. The owner also previously operated a spa business that allegedly followed a similar pattern. Overall, this raises serious concerns about ethics and reliability. I would strongly advise others to do thorough research before engaging with this company.
