Mooloolaba. First time ever I was charged a “Saturday night surcharge” upon arrival at property without consultation. I called Luxury Escapes and they agreed it didn’t seem right. Within a couple of days I had an email from First Light advising my $80 surcharge would be refunded in 10 business days. It’s been 3 weeks since they took that money from my account and more than 10 ridiculous business days and still no refund. First Light has unfortunately tainted Luxury Escapes great service.

right amount of walking to make it fun, not a chore, and the food was of good quality and quantity. They also met our dietary requirements easily - no beef, pork or alcohol for at least one of us. And customer service before the day itself was very good: I had made an error with the date of the booking, but it was quickly and politely corrected for me.

I would definitely recommend a Mystery Picnic to any couple and would like to do another one in a different area myself.

there were “plenty” of hospitality and ranch jobs available in Canada for the summer season. Once signed up, I was upsold expensive flights and insurance, only to later find the exact same flights online for hundreds of dollars cheaper. It's now been six weeks and nothing has come from the job search on their end, I have proceed to look on my own and have secured a job within a week (there is heaps of jobs out there!).

The biggest issue is that there is no clear timeline or guaranteed outcome, and everything they charge you for can easily be done yourself. Their terms state that if they cannot provide you with a job by the end of your initial hostel stay, you are eligible for a refund. Despite this, they have refused to refund my money and have provided no clear solution or way of honouring their agreement (see attachment below).

I have now reported the company to the ACCC in Australia, and if anyone else feels they have been misled or scammed, I would strongly encourage them to do the same.

Disappointed that three times I rang and asked for a certain lady to ring me back but she did not. Finallly I missed out on the cabin I wanted. They eventually gave me another cabin but it was dearer. Show details

invoice that clearly, boldly stated that payment of balance not required until June 2026. In January, the story changed. We were now required to pay a further deposit of $12000 immediately to secure our trip and, by the way, our flight costs had increased by a total of $4800 despite initial assurances that the quote definitely covered our requested flights. We cancelled in January (9 months ahead of planned trip) and were informed that a $1000 penalty would apply, and that the balance of our deposit would take up to 12 weeks to refund. This despite assurances from the actual cruise line, the airlines and the accommodation venue that any cancellation that far ahead would not, from them at least, require a penalty. We regard ecruising's approach to be classic bait-and-switch misleading advertising and have lodged a submission with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission accordingly.

I rang a Brisbane no. for shuttle to hire car depot. They sorted that for me. Car was larger than I usually drive but didn't take long to get used to it. Hotels were all good. Visited lagoon, aquarium, Tombs of the Pharaohs exhibition night market etc ln Cairns. Lots of walking. Lovely meal at Ochre. Drive to Yungaburra was lovely even with rain. Visited waterfalls, Herberton twice. Train ride and billy tea. Lots of walking etc. Lovely Drive to Pt Douglas. Beach walk, bus trip to Kuranda for the day. Lovely meal at Salsa and Grill. Again Lots of walking. Up to the tablelands Again and long drive to Cooktown. Started getting wet and windy due to being on the edge of a cyclone. River cruise was cancelled. Enjoyed steak night at the hotel. Needed more time to explore the town and surrounds. Back to Cairns. Wet and windy. Only hotel we paid for parking. Returned the car, to airport and home. We felt we needed more time in the Mareeba area to explore. Spent a lot of time driving. Road works from Pt Douglas to Cairns and Kuranda to Cairns. The Kuranda trip would have been easier from Cairns. Would have liked to spend more time around Mareeba area. Another day in Cooktown to explore more would be nice. That's my review. Hope it helps. Only inexperienced or naive travelers use these or Trivago. Both have been find millions for price fixing and dodgy practices. Booking.com is the only site I use because they are cheapest and most trustworthy.

more expensive interconnecting rooms, no rooms. Once the mistake is made and it is re-sold, it is gone. Bad start to our holiday. Terrible! Very disappointed.
