What was said to be a 16-20 week journey for an overseas container shipment has turned into a 30 week waiting game - and as of today we still don’t have our goods back despite having reached the other side of the world 8 weeks ago. If transparency, good communication and customer service are important to you, choose another company! Emails enquiring about where our furniture was remained unanswered for weeks, phone calls were not returned, response emails were literally without any content or helpful information. We do regret that we chose OSS for our international move.

for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

Self Pack Containers was excellent. Drop off and pickup of the container at both ends of the process was handled perfectly and professionally with no dramas and the Sales team were friendly, professional and well organised. hadn’t arrived by 4:14 PM. I had taken the day off work specifically for the move and was left waiting. When I called, I was told they were running late.

I then mentioned that their website states $50 off if they are more than 30 minutes late. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the lady I spoke to became rude and started arguing with me over the $50. She even said, “Do you need the truck or not? I’ll tell the driver to turn around and you can do the move yourself.”

This was extremely disappointing, especially considering the booking had been made three days in advance. I felt like I was being pressured because they knew I was already waiting for the truck.

In the end, they arrived around two hours late, and by then I had already arranged another moving company. I decided not to take the risk after the way I was spoken to on the phone.

Worst customer service experience. Being late can happen, but threatening to cancel someone’s move because they ask about a discount clearly advertised on your own website is completely unacceptable.

I strongly recommend thinking twice before booking. My experience was a huge regret, and I would not book with them again.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

2026, we relocated from Sunshine Coast, Qld to NSW. Ross at Allied Maroochydore (Qld) generously provided several cartons for early packing, prior to being engaged by us. With its quotation, Allied was clear about the strategy. Allied would provide all necessary cartons for us to pack; we would have one full container plus a small additional amount (6-8 cum – BOL – Balance of Load). The two parts would travel to NSW separately. We were assured that our full container would remain securely sealed and that our BOL would not be rehandled until the respective deliveries to our NSW address. We obtained a few quotes, then engaged Allied Maroochydore (Qld) for the move. Uplift seemed to go smoothly. Allied resourced the activity well. Allied reported there had been no issues during Uplift. Our full container was delivered one week after Uplift with contents in good shape. The BOL arrived three weeks after Uplift with severely damaged contents. Investigations confirm that our BOL was rehandled from one container to another on at least four occasions. We now know that a work bench (part of the BOL) was badly mistreated during Uplift. It was delivered to us in numerous pieces – nothing unscrewed/unbolted - just dismembered!! A solid oak sideboard top included in the BOL had obviously been dropped several times (due to repeated rehandling) and dropped so hard that one corner was badly splintered. At no time did Allied provide any advice that during Uplift, there had been severe damage to our goods. Allied withheld this information. No apology, no regret, no communication! This lack of transparency, the deceit and the fundamental dishonesty have broken any trust and/or confidence between us and Allied Maroochydore. Our new home has a very difficult staircase with 3 turns to negotiate and the guys hand carried some very heavy items up the stairs without any damage at all and with a humorous kind natured spirit. Whenever a super heavy item needed to be unloaded extra new staff would suddenly appear so all the work was evenly shared. We also had many large and very heavy artworks- some very fragile, that were all delivered in perfect condition.

advised him, they would need a ramp as there were two steps to get fridge up and down. While trying to get the fridge over the first step they almost tipped it over and my son-in-law saw a problem and went out to help them. When finally they got it on the truck and delivered it to desired destination, less than 1 kilometer away. They put fridge on trolly and proceeded to to carry fridge through garage from back of the house and the guy holding the trolly down so he can get it down another small step suddenly let go of the trolly thinking the other guy was supporting it. The trolly went down with a loud bang and at first didn't notice the damage inside the back of the fridge until I started putting all the containers which I had taken out so they weren't damage, noticed a large crack on the inside of the back of the fridge. Now I had tried several times to contact them and have asked them for their insurance provider. Instead, I received email from their complaints department that they refuse any compensation because the crack was internal and not external. Wow never heard of this before, but to date they have not issued me with the name of their insurance, emails have been going back and forth up to now with no success.

The dismantle and assemble of the furniture was done so efficiently that I couldn’t expect more. It’s usually very hard to please me, but I was really really very happy with their efficiency and care. I also asked them to relocate the furniture from downstairs to upstairs as I didnt like the initial setup which was done in my instruction. They were happily doing it. The bonus part is they charge by 15 mins for additional hours, which is a huge plus point if you stress about budget. items ready to go from my garage easy access for loading, the delivery address was 5 minute drive, again easy access straight into front of house, 1 hour job max, charged $630. When i questioned the cost after being quoted $240 per hour, i am tolf they charged me travel time from their depot in Brisbane?? They would have left Brisbane at 7.30am in peak traffic to make it to my place at 9am, and told me traffic unpredictable, you leave in Brisbane or Gold Coast you dont go on M1 unless you have to from 0600 to 0900, everyone knows that. So why would you drive to a job from Brisbane to Gold Coast at this time, because you are charging top dollar. So my advice if you are in Gold Coast dont use Mini Movers because you will cop an extra $250 on top of your service invoice to use them. I think it is a rort!

What should have been an easy pick-up from my storage unit became the driver’s nightmare as there was not enough room for him to turn around forcing him to reverse the fully loaded truck up a steep S-bend driveway, what a pro! They worked efficiently and with care. They communicated with me respectfully throughout the move and though I knew they were working late and most likely wanted to be home they did not let it show. The invoice came in at a very good price despite the last minute booking and inconvenience to the delivery boys. I cannot thank King enough and would highly recommend Kings Movers.
