another move when I had about 10 people coming through. This was nice as I didn’t have to re-explain to them what was needed like I had to with the bigger team. The move was from a furnished 3 bedroom house into another furnished house so it was quite complicated for them to know what to take and what was staying but they did a great job. The move was over 2000km and interstate. All my items were carefully transported with no damage. The dates and times given were accurate. The pack up was a bit slower than I expected but I think this is because of the smaller team, and even then it was only about 5hrs. And Ready Movers can come back once unpacked and collect any boxes which is handy.

for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

one truck load pick up and delivery to my home address, the removalists refused to go back and finish the move that day, but promised they would be at the pick up address at 7am the next day to complete the move. I made the BIG mistake of paying them for that day's work as I trusted them to go back the next day as arranged. Well, they didn't turn up the next day and I made numerous phone calls to different Movee phone numbers over the following 2 - 3 hours with no response. The pick up address was getting angrier and angrier with me as they were leaving for overseas the following day and the furniture had to be gone that day. I was forced to book another removalist at an exorbitant fee ($2,500 for 3 hours work) as it was a Sunday and a last minute booking. I was so distressed that I actually experienced the first panic attack in my life. Not only this, but there was damage to the lift and walls at the pick up address and damage to the furniture and walls at my end. The only recompense I later received was the $60 booking fee. Do yourself a favour and NEVER use this company - AWFUL.

what was happening. I was told my shipment is stuck in transit and the company does not know where my belongings currently are or what is the reason of delay. The delivery has now been delayed by another two weeks from 28/07 to 11/08. I called in last week to confirm the delivery date for the following week and was reassured the items would be coming in on the scheduled date. complete home and workshop interstate from Qld to Tas is a nightmare and we had to juggle load size and several times we had to add or subtract an item or two, but Katrina made the various adjustments, so that part of our move it was basically a stress free time. Shipping availability caused delivery to be a couple of days late, but we were updated along the way, so were ready when the truck arrived at the renewed time. 100% happy with the whole operation.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

2026, we relocated from Sunshine Coast, Qld to NSW. Ross at Allied Maroochydore (Qld) generously provided several cartons for early packing, prior to being engaged by us. With its quotation, Allied was clear about the strategy. Allied would provide all necessary cartons for us to pack; we would have one full container plus a small additional amount (6-8 cum – BOL – Balance of Load). The two parts would travel to NSW separately. We were assured that our full container would remain securely sealed and that our BOL would not be rehandled until the respective deliveries to our NSW address. We obtained a few quotes, then engaged Allied Maroochydore (Qld) for the move. Uplift seemed to go smoothly. Allied resourced the activity well. Allied reported there had been no issues during Uplift. Our full container was delivered one week after Uplift with contents in good shape. The BOL arrived three weeks after Uplift with severely damaged contents. Investigations confirm that our BOL was rehandled from one container to another on at least four occasions. We now know that a work bench (part of the BOL) was badly mistreated during Uplift. It was delivered to us in numerous pieces – nothing unscrewed/unbolted - just dismembered!! A solid oak sideboard top included in the BOL had obviously been dropped several times (due to repeated rehandling) and dropped so hard that one corner was badly splintered. At no time did Allied provide any advice that during Uplift, there had been severe damage to our goods. Allied withheld this information. No apology, no regret, no communication! This lack of transparency, the deceit and the fundamental dishonesty have broken any trust and/or confidence between us and Allied Maroochydore. Based on our latest experience, we could not recommend Allied Maroochydore (Qld). Kim & Rose

Our new home has a very difficult staircase with 3 turns to negotiate and the guys hand carried some very heavy items up the stairs without any damage at all and with a humorous kind natured spirit. Whenever a super heavy item needed to be unloaded extra new staff would suddenly appear so all the work was evenly shared. We also had many large and very heavy artworks- some very fragile, that were all delivered in perfect condition.

When Chris Bell himself came to quote we instantly realised we were dealing with a highly experienced very likeable operator.
