My deep sofa was proving to be a real challenge, but they worked out a way to get it into the lift and safely up to my new apartment — something I’m extremely grateful for! After being messed around all day by the original removalists, who didn’t even turn up until 7pm and then couldn’t be bothered removing the sofa legs to get it into the lift, Man with a Van went above and beyond to get the job done. I won’t name and shame the other company, but I will absolutely name and praise Man with a Van. When I arrived back, the washing machine was downstairs ( unit on 2nd floor) & a large potted tree also left downstairs. My Partner told me the guys said it wouldn’t fit. She also overheard then chuckling & making comments on how ‘easy’ that job was overall. I was 4 months post surgery from having a hip replacement & I’m 59 years old. I grabbed a friend who was a 16 year old kid really & him & I managed to get both items up the stairs & into their respective Locations. It wasn’t easy but 59 & 16 year olds…… what would you expect.? Some minor paintwork scuffing & wall damages were thrown in for free as well. Tell me what the F*#k is wrong with this picture??? They were paid professionals to do a professional job. I was ticked off she actually paid them after their disgraceful efforts. Expect a good review then do what you are paid to do & don’t take advantage of Women especially because that’s exactly what they did.

They were very polite and worked in a very efficient manner. An outstanding experience and looking forward to the arrival of our belongings in a few weeks.

you sign the contract, the nightmare begins. What was said to be a 16-20 week journey for an overseas container shipment has turned into a 30 week waiting game - and as of today we still don’t have our goods back despite having reached the other side of the world 8 weeks ago. If transparency, good communication and customer service are important to you, choose another company! Emails enquiring about where our furniture was remained unanswered for weeks, phone calls were not returned, response emails were literally without any content or helpful information. for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

careful with every item of our antique furniture and especially with the mirrors. They arrived on schedule at 8am then worked continuously until 11am and had a short break then filled the 12 ton truck by 1.00pm. They also moved the truck on 2 occasions to allow a neighbour to gain access to her property. At 11am Eddie realised that the truck was not big enough to take all our belongings and he organised a second truck to arrive at 1.40pm where Derek and another diligently picked up the mirrors and odds and ends for another hour and cleared our old house At the delivery end the guys positioned and reassembled the furniture over a 3 hour period and my wife and I were very well pleased with their effort. We would recommend Rocket Removals (who were recommended to us by our Real Estate Agent Morrison Kleeman) based on work effort, care, and safety in all their actions. Thanks guys you were great.

Drop off and pickup of the container at both ends of the process was handled perfectly and professionally with no dramas and the Sales team were friendly, professional and well organised. one truck load pick up and delivery to my home address, the removalists refused to go back and finish the move that day, but promised they would be at the pick up address at 7am the next day to complete the move. I made the BIG mistake of paying them for that day's work as I trusted them to go back the next day as arranged. Well, they didn't turn up the next day and I made numerous phone calls to different Movee phone numbers over the following 2 - 3 hours with no response. The pick up address was getting angrier and angrier with me as they were leaving for overseas the following day and the furniture had to be gone that day. I was forced to book another removalist at an exorbitant fee ($2,500 for 3 hours work) as it was a Sunday and a last minute booking. I was so distressed that I actually experienced the first panic attack in my life. Not only this, but there was damage to the lift and walls at the pick up address and damage to the furniture and walls at my end. The only recompense I later received was the $60 booking fee. Do yourself a favour and NEVER use this company - AWFUL.

freight was primarily artwork and personal belongings, no furniture. Dealing with international freight movers was more drama and stress than relocating my two cats. My USA movers informed me while they were loading boxes of my belongings onto their truck that I would be responsible for acquiring movers in Melbourne to pick up my freight - 3 crates, 1 pallet. I had been of the understanding that I was paying for door to door shipping. I literally could not find anyone in Melbourne who would pick up the phone or answer emails, or if they did answer emails it would be nonsense and misinformation. Jas from Vicmovers picked up the phone! He informed me that normally he doesn't pick up international calls as it's usually spam, but because I had literally just emailed Vicmovers about my situation, he figured it was the same person - smart. I got more information about how international freight shipping works in that one phone call with Jas than I did from other movers whose services I had employed. And he was kind enough to ask me what time it was in New York City, (12AM), and to wish me a good nights sleep. The next two months there was a lot of back and forth between all the entities involved, and Vicmovers was on top of everything all the time. Every day in the final week before the delivery Jas and Amar were working on trying to find out if the freight had been cleared so they could book a pick up time from the dock. They were trying to schedule their other work around my freight and dealing with all the delays from the dock. For instance the shipping container arrived on the 11th July as planned, but clearance of my freight didn't occur until 22nd July - 8 business days, even though I was initially told it would be 3-4 days. Vicmovers, particularly Jas were emailing and calling me all the time, and worked so hard to make the process smooth. There were hiccups along the way and more money exchanged hands, but that's the deal with international shipping, it's a moving target, and a pretty intense process, there a lot of unknowns during the process. Jas and Kamran delivered my freight precisely on the day that it was cleared. They were fantastic, careful, mindful and a pleasure to be around. Please do yourself a favour and don't bother with other moving companies, Vicmovers will get the job done, they are the best. They are extremely experienced and understand how to navigate this tricky kind of freight pickup and delivery.

hadn’t arrived by 4:14 PM. I had taken the day off work specifically for the move and was left waiting. When I called, I was told they were running late.

I then mentioned that their website states $50 off if they are more than 30 minutes late. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the lady I spoke to became rude and started arguing with me over the $50. She even said, “Do you need the truck or not? I’ll tell the driver to turn around and you can do the move yourself.”

This was extremely disappointing, especially considering the booking had been made three days in advance. I felt like I was being pressured because they knew I was already waiting for the truck.

In the end, they arrived around two hours late, and by then I had already arranged another moving company. I decided not to take the risk after the way I was spoken to on the phone.

Worst customer service experience. Being late can happen, but threatening to cancel someone’s move because they ask about a discount clearly advertised on your own website is completely unacceptable.

I strongly recommend thinking twice before booking. My experience was a huge regret, and I would not book with them again.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.
