for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

The team were great! Kept me up to date the whole way through. They understood what needed to be done and gave me good options. Also best value in the market.

one truck load pick up and delivery to my home address, the removalists refused to go back and finish the move that day, but promised they would be at the pick up address at 7am the next day to complete the move. I made the BIG mistake of paying them for that day's work as I trusted them to go back the next day as arranged. Well, they didn't turn up the next day and I made numerous phone calls to different Movee phone numbers over the following 2 - 3 hours with no response. The pick up address was getting angrier and angrier with me as they were leaving for overseas the following day and the furniture had to be gone that day. I was forced to book another removalist at an exorbitant fee ($2,500 for 3 hours work) as it was a Sunday and a last minute booking. I was so distressed that I actually experienced the first panic attack in my life. Not only this, but there was damage to the lift and walls at the pick up address and damage to the furniture and walls at my end. The only recompense I later received was the $60 booking fee. Do yourself a favour and NEVER use this company - AWFUL.

complete home and workshop interstate from Qld to Tas is a nightmare and we had to juggle load size and several times we had to add or subtract an item or two, but Katrina made the various adjustments, so that part of our move it was basically a stress free time. Shipping availability caused delivery to be a couple of days late, but we were updated along the way, so were ready when the truck arrived at the renewed time. 100% happy with the whole operation.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

with agent sending documents that crashed laptop and insisted on inventory after we had already packed and marked the boxes. I challenged this and was allocated a 2nd agent. Requested they review the situation as we hadn't yet paid - they didn't respond and then demanded payment with direct threat was ,having already booked flights, they were considering cancellation unless we shut up and put up. At a mature age (post 70) we were forced to unpack every single box to provide a handwritten form, scan it and send in addition to the inventory they already had. Brother in UK customs said later this was completely unnecessary as customs go by whats marked on box. Informed by sister agency Pickfords of the arrival but when we gave new address they told us it was double handling and would cost a further $1000. I challenged this with agent no 3 who said she would reissue the invoice ( already paid!) with this amount which under any law is illegal ( email so have evidence. I quoted consumer law to her and the UK end reluctantly agreed to deliver if the road was made clear. Despite every effort on the delivery day to clear the road with bins and strategic cones, the consignment was outsourced to a large trailer with other shipments on it. Pickfords with ill grace had to meet that trailer NOT in the next street which was wide enough but miles away in a layby delaying receipt by several hours. Despite the arguments and provision of lists AND clearly marked boxes, these were dumped all over the house- bike stuff in the bedroom, clothes in the garden shed with the only storage under the stairs awash with various boxes. 5 Bikes having been dismantled in Perth were dumped still wrapped in the garden. 3 bed Sofa could have been put in back room via garden but was jammed with the other 3 seater in the tiny living room. Damage to stairwell for no discernable reason which as rentees we are liable for and to old desk telescopic arm end .After 6 weeks plus heard nothing from the insurance despite covering this item in particular. The agent where i moved was extremely helpful and listened - he sent round two more senior packers who tried to help rearrange the furniture. I had already manually unpacked the bikes , reconstructed them given they could not remain on the grass in the garden. I held off a review until now to allow Allied to do what we paid them to do, cover any damage as part of their service. No surprises I have heard nothing

Our new home has a very difficult staircase with 3 turns to negotiate and the guys hand carried some very heavy items up the stairs without any damage at all and with a humorous kind natured spirit. Whenever a super heavy item needed to be unloaded extra new staff would suddenly appear so all the work was evenly shared. We also had many large and very heavy artworks- some very fragile, that were all delivered in perfect condition.

say that their service amazed me. Not only they packed every single item with care, but they also transfer everything at a reasonable speed. At no point I had to stress that they are wasting time. The dismantle and assemble of the furniture was done so efficiently that I couldn’t expect more. It’s usually very hard to please me, but I was really really very happy with their efficiency and care. I also asked them to relocate the furniture from downstairs to upstairs as I didnt like the initial setup which was done in my instruction. They were happily doing it. The bonus part is they charge by 15 mins for additional hours, which is a huge plus point if you stress about budget. Would certainly recommend them to everyone, specially if you ever had negative experience.

items ready to go from my garage easy access for loading, the delivery address was 5 minute drive, again easy access straight into front of house, 1 hour job max, charged $630. When i questioned the cost after being quoted $240 per hour, i am tolf they charged me travel time from their depot in Brisbane?? They would have left Brisbane at 7.30am in peak traffic to make it to my place at 9am, and told me traffic unpredictable, you leave in Brisbane or Gold Coast you dont go on M1 unless you have to from 0600 to 0900, everyone knows that. So why would you drive to a job from Brisbane to Gold Coast at this time, because you are charging top dollar. So my advice if you are in Gold Coast dont use Mini Movers because you will cop an extra $250 on top of your service invoice to use them. I think it is a rort!
