for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

Our experience began with Samantha, whose professional approach established immediate confidence, followed by excellent communication and support from Kristy.

A special mention must go to Rafa, Pedro and Dris, who arrived punctually and demonstrated outstanding care, precision and attention to detail throughout the move. Every item was meticulously wrapped, protected and handled with genuine respect. Nothing was too much trouble.

Having moved just 12 months ago with another removalist, the contrast could not have been greater. I would be tempted to name the previous company given that experience, but I’ll leave that one to karma!

failed to pay me or any of my offsiders for the work we carried out. They were rude and demanding very pushy to complete the job, yet failed to pay the people who did the work.

I strongly advise other drivers to think twice before working with this company. I would not recommend them and would never work with them again.

arrival….they finally arrived at around midday after me calling them to find out where they were. Logistics problem. Bear in mind it was a wet day. I had everything boxed that could be. Dismantled one of the 2 beds for them. The guys were nice enough, but on reflection , they were not careful at all. No blue wraps were used. They only wrapped the tv unit and side board in plastic. Nothing to protect mattresses which , on arrrival at the new home, were both filthy and had some mould from , I’m assuming, getting wet. Both leather sofas received damage to the leather area and the legs. Both were muddy in places. Several broken glasses. Scuff and chip marks on a $400 tall vase that was well wrapped in bubble wrap . Dirt and scuff marks on a $650 piece of canvas art. Canvas based beige linen shoe box is filthy . Definitely got wet. Several boxes clearly crushed. My new build home has a gash mark near the entrance which must have been hit by furniture. They nearly left without putting the beds back together. which I had specifically requested. “ no one told us we had to “ Washer wasn’t hooked back up.

I won’t go into the call I got on the drive up to Qld asking if they could leave the furniture somewhere as they needed the truck back by 7 am in Brisbane. We hadn’t settled on the property so couldn’t do much. I had made it perfectly clear that there was no access before the settlement date. Only one of the original guys was there with another local person. Overall , I can’t say I would recommend them.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

say that their service amazed me. Not only they packed every single item with care, but they also transfer everything at a reasonable speed. At no point I had to stress that they are wasting time. The dismantle and assemble of the furniture was done so efficiently that I couldn’t expect more. It’s usually very hard to please me, but I was really really very happy with their efficiency and care. I also asked them to relocate the furniture from downstairs to upstairs as I didnt like the initial setup which was done in my instruction. They were happily doing it. The bonus part is they charge by 15 mins for additional hours, which is a huge plus point if you stress about budget. Would certainly recommend them to everyone, specially if you ever had negative experience.

items ready to go from my garage easy access for loading, the delivery address was 5 minute drive, again easy access straight into front of house, 1 hour job max, charged $630. When i questioned the cost after being quoted $240 per hour, i am tolf they charged me travel time from their depot in Brisbane?? They would have left Brisbane at 7.30am in peak traffic to make it to my place at 9am, and told me traffic unpredictable, you leave in Brisbane or Gold Coast you dont go on M1 unless you have to from 0600 to 0900, everyone knows that. So why would you drive to a job from Brisbane to Gold Coast at this time, because you are charging top dollar. So my advice if you are in Gold Coast dont use Mini Movers because you will cop an extra $250 on top of your service invoice to use them. I think it is a rort!

When we received a call from them regarding the drop-off, they were very obliging. They unloaded the furniture again with care.

I would not say that the move went without some small issues, but none that could not be resolved.

2 days later and they cancelled on me again stating their workers had gotten wet and all gotten sick. Mind you there had been no rain at all over the last few days this occurred. I told them not to bother and took the refund they offered me where upon they never refunded me and ghosted me.

Looking at other reviews, they use these excuses very often. Book someone else! Do not use this company!
