It has been disruptive and emotionally exhausting. After you have paid for the whole job upfront, service nose-dives. They failed to deliver in terms of time, cost, AND quality. So many mistakes and delays. Communication non-existent. Zero accountability. We're more than 6 weeks into a 10-day program and still not done. For such a small project, the project manager seems to be way out of his depth. I understand that things don't always go according to plan, but it is ridiculous it could take so long to swap out old joinery for new. What we have doesn't even match the measurements of the drawings we signed off (eg a counter that was supposed to be 655 deep is 640 at one end and 630 at the other (so tight they couldn't fit the tap behind the sink and had to mount it on the sink's frame!)). In an attempt to get our laundry up and running again, we have had to make design compromises galore and constantly rearranged our calendars (often with less than 24 hours' notice). To give you just one example of how frustrating it has been, I had to drive to the show-room to find someone to talk to (about my washer-dryer which had been outside for a week) because not one of the contact people was answering their phone (counter staff were rude and all they did was promise the store manager would call me back - he never did). If you haven't paid your deposit yet - DON'T - save yourself the distress and disappointment and stay away.

providing outstanding care, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to customer service.
From the very beginning, Paul took the time to listen to our ideas, understand exactly what we wanted and, most importantly, he absolutely nailed the brief. The finished American Oak kitchen and laundry are simply beautiful and have become one of the standout features of our new home. The quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail are exceptional.
It was a pleasure dealing with someone who genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in delivering a quality result. We highly recommend Paul and the team at Krauss Kitchens to anyone looking for exceptional workmanship, personal service and a beautiful finished product.

organised team of workers. We were happy with the service right from the planning to the very end. We went into the showroom several times before deciding and always felt the service was friendly and helpful. No question from us was regarded as trivial. Once the design was decided we agreed to the fixed price and went ahead. The company aims to have a functional kitchen by the end of a week. The assigned project manager with the company was always willing to discuss any concerns- indeed welcomed them. He was very diligent in his followup and checking on the schedule of works. Their service and the quality of the kitchen was beyond expectations! I couldn't see any cost cutting on their behalf. Transactions were transparent and we received a quality service and product- not cheap but I believe the company prides itself on continuing with their good product and reputation. Their end goal was a happy customer. It shows in the end product- and the recommendations supplied to us for tradespeople proved to be quality work also. Highly recommended.

contract was made we finally are rid of contractors. They market themselves as so much more and detract from the brand reputation of Freedom. There is so much talk about "CUSTOM" during the enquiry process and design only to later discover that all diagrams and measurements asked to sign off on are simply "illustration purposes only" and the thieves who run the business hide behind the claim we are a supply-only joinery company. The service has been atrocious from the designers, the failed & wrong deliveries and the so-called "Customer service" has been non-existent. And all of this for the privilege of investing more than $40K on what could have been bought from IKEA or Bunnings and installed for much less - after all NOTHING provided was custom and is all what suits the supply only joinery company that markets itself as "Freedom Kitchens". Perhaps these criminals consider freedom as being a dictatorship whereby unassuming customers do not have any choice and must pay in full 100% before the pre-fabricated panels are dispatched from the warehouse. Also, numerous emails to Freedom Kitchens management & Freedom itself have gone both unacknowledged and unanswered which is a further disappointment that a customers concerns and anguish have gone unnoticed further confirming that the criminal-like behaviour of this business. I can assure you that the service and product I received for $40K is nothing like the service and product that is marketed by this organization nor how they are perceived on supposedly quality programs such as The Block. To confirm my beliefs on the nefarious actions of this business, every single trade recommended and used by this organization, from the delivery through to the installer, plumber, electrician and glass splash back ALL unanimously volunteered that EVERY SINGLE job they do with Freedom Kitchens has dozens of issues leaving customers frustrated. Sadly and again regrettably having chosen Freedom Kitchens, less than 3 weeks after install, I already have faulty components showing up despite their assertion that only "Premier Grade" equipment is used. The draws are poorly constructed with the sides and backing falling apart having never even been screwed in and awaiting a response from them to claim the 7 year warranty. Seems that they have all my money are will only speak to me if I want to replace the brand new "designer kitchen" that they have just supplied me. Caveat emptor - Let the buyer beware.

I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Kitchens U Build (KUB) Capalaba and especially Tracie — she was phenomenal from the moment we walked into… Read more
the Capalaba store.
To be completely transparent, I was a very reluctant participant at the start. I wasn’t convinced we even needed a kitchen revamp and I was absolutely adamant that I wanted only white cupboards and a white benchtop. That was the first time (and definitely not the last!) I heard Tracie gently ask, “Are you sure?”
What followed was nothing short of mind-blowing.
Tracie introduced ideas we had never even considered — and somehow they turned out to be exactly what we wanted. There were no pushy sales pitches, no pressure, just patience and expertise. She worked with us while we dithered over decisions and she very quickly realised that I’m a visual person. Instead of telling me how something would look, she showed me. She patiently walked me through layouts and finishes, waiting for me to catch up with what she already knew would work beautifully.
Tracie didn’t just help us choose cupboard facings and benchtops — she completely reimagined our space. Working solely from our badly hand-drawn scribbles (and without ever seeing our home in person!), she suggested shifting a wall by 60cm. That one change transformed how we could use the entire wall and dramatically improved the functionality of our kitchen.
She helped us design not only our dream kitchen, but also a butler’s pantry/laundry that is both stunning and incredibly practical. We knew we had absolutely nailed the design when I realised I can literally spin in place to unpack the dishwasher — no more walking all over the kitchen to put things away. It just works.
Once everything was selected, checked and rechecked, installation was booked in. Unfortunately — and through no fault of KUB — the installation coincided with Cyclone Alfred and we lost power for five days. Yet even then, KUB went above and beyond. Bruce turned up with his generator and radio and just kept building cupboards like an absolute professional (and tolerated having a 5 and 1 year old under his feet). That level of commitment and dedication speaks volumes.
We did experience a couple of minor hiccups — the porcelain backsplash didn’t align perfectly, and the stone contractor installed stone instead of porcelain in the pantry. But once again, Tracie handled everything immediately and without hesitation. There was no argument, no defensiveness — just swift action to have everything corrected as soon as possible at no additional cost to us.
When the kitchen and pantry were complete, Tracie personally came out to inspect everything herself to ensure it was perfect — and it absolutely was.
We cannot thank Tracie and the entire KUB team enough. They didn’t just renovate our kitchen — they transformed our home. Their patience, creativity, professionalism, and genuine care made what could have been a stressful process an incredibly positive experience.
If you’re considering a renovation, do yourself a favour and visit KUB Capalaba. You’ll be in the very best hands.

Just had to walk out of good guys Geelong. The worst experience I have had in a shop. I step one foot in the door and I’m blocked by someone asking… Read more
what I’m looking for. I just wanted to navigate myself, but I asked for the Kinsman display. I get walked down there and bombarded by the Kinsman sales person, and the need to make a 2 hour appointment. I know the measurement of the wardrobe, I just wanted a basic quote or idea. We then get told minimum price for a wardrobe is $4k. WHAT!
All I wanted was to talk to someone about the design, get a basic idea of price and maybe have a bit of a design consultation there. If there is no one else there and you have a full display, why can’t I be walked through the designs, do a quick mock up of what I want and get a price? What’s the point of having the display. Why do you have staff at the display that can’t put a quote together for me. Why do a need a design consult appointment - I’m here now. The process is so backward and a waste of my time.
Also the preferred consult is at our house, why? When all the materials and examples are at the display. You’re not going to help me choose colours, there are only a hand full and to make it even simpler, we just wanted white.
Never going back to good guys again. The experience was nothing like I have experienced before. Backward, slow and old school sales techniques to get you deep into the process and not realise how much money you are wasting.
Our custom build quote was $1000 cheaper than the minimum $4000 at Kinsman. And I’d rate IKEA’s quality very close to the same as Kinsman.

received. From the very beginning, the process has been less than satisfactory. When we were in the design phase, the designer seemed more concerned about their soccer game than helping us. This lack of attention to detail carried over into the installation phase, where we were told we were short on cupboards and had to revisit the designs all over again. The warranty process has been equally frustrating. The customer service and support have been disappointing, to say the least. We've had our kitchen for only a few years, and the laminate has already started bubbling badly. To make matters worse, the colour we originally chose has been discontinued, and their suggestion to match it with what they have in stock is not feasible since it won't match the existing colour in the middle of the kitchen. Additionally, we have had ongoing issues with soft closing hinges, drawer runners and slides, despite paying extra for a 25-year warranty. Now we are being told to deal directly with the supplier, which is not acceptable. It feels like we paid a significant amount of money, only to be left with the impression that our problems are not their concern. In summary, the product and customer service have been subpar. I wanted to share this with you in the hope that we can address these issues and prevent similar experiences for others in the future.

after all these years I still look at the home they created with absolute appreciation. What began as a modest single storey, two bedroom, one bathroom home became a beautifully designed double storey residence with five bedrooms, a study, and 2.5 bathrooms. The workmanship was exceptional, and every person involved in the build was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with. I was kept informed step by step throughout the entire process, which made the experience smooth and stress free. Recently, I needed to obtain information about the original build, and I contacted the office for assistance. This is where Angela B., the Office Manager, truly shone. Angela was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely committed to helping me. Despite the age of the project, she went above and beyond - locating my job in their old handwritten sales register I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Dannie K, who worked alongside Angela. Together, they were even able to retrieve the payment records from their archived database. I am deeply grateful for the time, care, and attention they dedicated to retrieving these documents, especially given the limitations of records from over two decades ago. The information they provided has already been extremely helpful. To Angela, Dannie, and the entire Extension Factory team: thank you for your professionalism, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment to your clients - not just during the build, but many years later. You were wonderful in 2000, and you remain wonderful today. Keep up the great work

Euro review
We bought an outdoor Euro Alfresco kitchen (to go on to a new pool deck) at Harvey Norman – but the problem is not with Harvey Norman, but with Euro. (1) After we paid the deposit on an $18000 outdoor kitchen, we were told that Euro would not even start to build it until the pool deck was built (which would be several months away). The supposed reason was to make sure that the kitchen would fit on the deck and the deck would be strong enough to hold it. This was despite us sending Euro the architectural plans and the engineering plans (and we had designed and engineered the deck to hold this kitchen as well as a clay pizza oven). Euro just completely refused to budge, even when we offered to pay the full amount up front. (2) Not surprisingly, after the deck was built, the installer came out, took 1 look at the deck and said yep, the kitchen would fit, and gave the go ahead for Euro to start building it. We were told it would take 6 weeks to build because we ordered a “custom built kitchen”. The kitchens are supposedly modular, and we ordered a design from their catalogue without any modifications. (3) After 5-6 weeks, we were told the kitchen was built, but the installer was away overseas on holidays for another couple of weeks. Yep, in a major Australian capital city, they have ONLY ONE installer!! (4) Kitchen finally installed, we had our first BBQ, and it didn’t work properly! Burners were going out within a few minutes in random orders!! We contacted Euro, and they blamed a whole heap of things – wind (this is an outdoor kitchen!), incorrect installation of gas connection (despite the wok burner connected to the same gas supply with the same piping worked perfectly), incorrect kitchen installation (their installer installed the kitchen!). (5) The repair technician came out and confirmed the problem was with the BBQ, and was unable to fix it. He also told us about multiple similar issues with Euro BBQs in Brisbane, suggesting a manufacturing issue. He checked the gas connection again and gas pressure / flow – no problems. (6) The repair technician came back a few weeks later – Euro told him to replace the gas hose!! He actually realised the hose Euro had sent was an inferior quality hose with a smaller regulator and lower flow rate, so he didn’t even bother. (7) It then took a few weeks and multiple phone calls to the repair company – the delay this time was with Euro sending replacement thermo-couple valves which was what Euro wanted to try to replace next. He came out, took the BBQ apart, and discovered that the installed valves were all different sizes!! One of the valves could not be replaced as the valves Euro sent did not fit! The technician replaced the other valves and repositioned them, and that seems to have fixed the problem, for now. (8) And the final thing – the installer couldn’t even hang the cupboard door straight and they didn’t close properly. Emails to the installer and Euro Alfresco went unanswered (and delivery tracking show they were delivered). I managed to adjust the hinges and rehang the doors straight myself.
Their decision to not even start building the kitchen until the deck was completed was unfathomable. The after-sales customer service was just shocking. The technician told us today that they now have 6 Euro BBQs all with the same problem just in the past couple of months, suggesting poor design, manufacture, and / or quality control.
