worse, during the first repair, the repairer found another issue, so had to lodge a second claim while the car was at the repair shop. I thought it was going to a real headache, but AWN were actually really good on their end. I called and they actually answered here in Australia and not an offshore call centre. They asked for the relevant details which I got from the repairer and then sent an email confirming approval to proceed. mine was a pretty straightforward warranty issue with a known common issue with my model car, but my experience with AWN I felt was pretty easy and being the first time I had to call them, being able to get through in next to no time is a big plus these days. The first claim took about 2 days to approve as there was a bit of back and forth with the repairer to get the necessary info and the second one was approved next day, so that was a really good turn around too.

hospital for 5 days in Malaysia recently and we also were forced to cancelled our tour to Japan from Malaysia. We contacted the Emergency Team and their respond was quick and helpful . They offer assistance for my wife’s hospital admission and give us some helpful advice. They emailed us few times asking us any other service we need while we are in Malaysia. When we came home we submitted the claim online. The claim was easy and simple, the respond was very quick. We received our full claim within 10 working days as the promised. comment is that they do seem to increase their premiums quite a bit each year. This year I decided to enquire about adding an excess to reduce the premium and the person I spoke to kept telling me that the 'annual excess' applies per condition, per policy period. Despite the PDS saying that it was indeed an annual excess and no mention of per condition, we went around and around for 20 minutes where they said for each condition I will need to pay the excess again. I ended the call and called back to speak to another person who said it was indeed an annual excess as per the PDS and is per policy period (not per condition). It may be worth retraining your staff on the PDS and how your policies work. However despite this looks like I'm sticking with Bow Wow for another year as with excess, their price is much more reasonable.

was faulty and did not want to risk continuing the flight over the Pacific Ocean. After returning to Sydney, I was forced to purchase replacement flights at the airport at significant expense because the airline's rebooking arrangements were not suitable for my travel plans. I needed to arrive in the USA in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family.
Despite the cancellation being completely beyond my control, my travel insurance claim was rejected because the event did not fall within a narrow and specific list of covered triggers under the policy. After progressing the matter through the insurer's internal complaints process and then AFCA, the decision was ultimately upheld based on the policy wording. 1Cover would not even entertain a partial settlement in good faith to resolve the claim. My advice is simple: read the PDS carefully before purchasing any travel insurance policy. Marketing terms such as "Cancellation Cover" included may not provide the protection you expect unless your circumstances fall within specific defined events. I have been a 1Cover Travel Insurance customer for many years, without making a claim, but based on this experience, I will not be purchasing a 1Cover policy again.

covered non conflict injuries. There are not many companies that do so, so the extra cost was acceptable.
We were travelling from Iceland to Greenland when the plane aborted due to technical issues.
The claim was for a connecting ferry in Greenland, and the transfer to it (via a small boat). Total claim was $2634.10.
It was paid out in full, no questions asked. The payment was timely, being only 2 weeks post the claim. I had paid $2000 insurance for a 3 month trip.
Cannot but be happy.

long relationship with Youi. What really pissed me about them (and the other four big-name companies, too) is their greed. After the first year with having a comprehensive car insurance with them, they sent me an email advising that both the monthly premium and the excess fees were going up, and the car value - you guessed it! - had gone down. I asked them for the resons of such genius decision of theirs, and they said something along the line "it is a natural cost adjustment in line with the yearly inflation rate". Sounds like BS to me as ALL car insurance companies in germany, for example, LOWER your insurance costs after each year of no-accident driving. Are you telling me that there is no inflation in Europe?.. Pathetic policy, pathetic company.

I have yet to receive any update, let alone any determination.
A third party was responsible for the accident and accepted responsibility, I provided all their details to both rental cover and the hire company. I have now been following up on this claim for 3 months now, to both emails (the admin and the complaints one) with no reply. I have had no correspondence apart from system generated emails confirming they're still reviewing, and even then the last one was from April 11th. This is confirmed by my account on their portal as well.
I work in insurance myself, I know first hand things can get tricky, but the lack of support or any communication is ridiculous.
If there is no resolution this week I will be escalating further.

weekends. I guess their medical emergency line would be different, but I dont know. I logged in to extend online, and it said, sorry this function is temporarily out of function, I called, but no one working weekends. Pretty poor form for a travel company. on this alone, im never using again. why would I? get a company that cares enough to have someone available to fix stuff on the weekend, or to have their website up and running, or even have one of those question things on the website that is attended by a human that can help.

started getting dental pains that escalated rapidly. They told my surgeon and hospital that this was all covered - 2 days before they say that this is not covered as it is a pre-existing condition. It is not. I've paid about 10k out of pocket for everything and I am only claiming for $1500 as this is only what's covered.
Been fighting them for five months have filled in six forms and still chasing a resolution from them. Have submitted letters and refferals from dentist to say this is whats up and they're saying they need to speak to this person and that - and saying they need records that don't exist.
I am having to go to a specialist to get another letter to say what they already have evidence for. Can't wait to see what they screw me over with with next.
Do not use this company for hospital cover. This tactic apparently is quite rampant for these guys as they try and fatigue valid claims to the point they drop it. Am submitting complaints to the authorities.
Absolutely disgusted and can't wait for this to be resolved so I can change insurers.
