down—clearly hoping we wouldn’t notice the shattered glass surface. This wasn’t minor wear and tear; it was obvious mishandling. What’s even worse is how they handled the situation afterward. Despite raising the issue immediately, they took an unreasonably long time to respond, denied responsibility, and then offered a laughable $50 “goodwill” payment. That doesn’t even come close to covering the cost of repair or replacement. Their explanation makes no sense. The speaker was in perfect condition before the move. If it had been damaged beforehand, it would have been impossible to transport safely without it being noticed. The damage clearly happened while it was in their care. This shows a complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and respect for customers’ belongings. I will never use them again and strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with your valuables. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Everything on move day went completely to plan. It was a big interstate move over two days and splitting my items between a house and storage unit. Sunshine Coast. A big job, and mostly a great experience.

Felipe Ferraz and Wesley were absolutely fantastic on the day. Both were professional, friendly and genuinely hardworking from start to finish. They took real care with all of our belongings and packed the truck as tightly and efficiently as possible to fit in as much as they could. When it came time to unload, not a single item was damaged — which says a lot given the size and complexity of the move!

The standout moment of the day was getting our three-seater sofa into the master bedroom on the second floor. The stairs were too narrow, so Felipe and Wesley came up with a creative solution and got it up safely through a window opening — no damage to the couch, no damage to the property, and nobody got hurt. Great problem solving under pressure.

Felipe in particular brought incredible energy and optimism throughout the entire day, even after what turned into a 13+ hour shift. That attitude makes a real difference on a stressful moving day.

The one area we'd flag for improvement is the booking and logistics side. We called ahead and specifically requested the largest van available, but the vehicle sent wasn't big enough for our move. A 75m2 rather than a 50m2 would have been more suitable for our move. We did try to flag this multiple operations and support staff before moving day. Because of the vehicle not being big enough, the job ran longer than expected and since we were paying by the hour, that added up. We also had to make an additional trip ourselves back to Brisbane to collect what didn't fit. Felipe and Wesley did everything they could to make it work, so this is no reflection on them at all — it comes down to the pre-move assessment and vehicle allocation needing more accuracy.

for a quote, received a rate, paid a deposit, and then got a confirmation email with a higher rate. When I questioned it, they sent the original quote again — only to call the next day and say, “Oops, it’s actually a different rate,” but hey, they’d knock off $5 as a “favour.” How generous.

This kind of chaotic admin — or let’s be honest, shady bait-and-switch tactics — made it impossible to trust them. We cancelled the booking, but even that was a saga of multiple emails. And the kicker? They refused to refund the deposit, citing an admin fee. Apparently, I was paying for the same incompetence that made me cancel in the first place.

Later I found out they’ve got a warning from Consumer Affairs Victoria for unethical practices. Wish I’d checked sooner. Lesson learned: steer clear unless you enjoy paying for confusion and dishonesty.

absolute time wasters. Steer clear!!! We booked an 8 tonne truck which was confirmed via email but on the day, a 4 tonne truck with two guys showed up. One looked like he could lift stuff but the other was shorter than me and looked unhappy to be even be there in the first place. They said they had to do multiple trips, took 4 hours to dismantle/pack/unpack the first trip and we are moving 10 mins away. I must have called and spoke to the “company” multiple times or so, the only positive I got was able to negotiate the price of the move down on the guarantee (which I also got in writing) that the job would be completed, but they vanished without a trace as soon as I made the payment. Instead of making it a crime or kidnapping to solve, I just said to myself, let me cut my loss and have organised another mover to finalise the absolute trash storm of a job these two geniuses left in their wake of terror. I’ve attached photos of items that were left at our old place with timestamped evidence. I’ve also reported this business to the NSW govt as they are absolute scam artists. The items shown and TV cabinet behind TV were supposed to come on the last trip which weren’t picked up at all and left overnight at the old place. I’ve also got plenty of photos of the trash storm that was left at our new place, we had to end up getting a hotel room overnight before a different removalist company completed the move and re-assembles all our furniture.

I think a starfish has more brain cells than the two “humans” I met yesterday, one looked 40-50 and claimed to be 18. You can imagine my shock at that response. I’m a migrant myself and not being racist, but in this instance, I strongly believe I just witnessed multiple people from another country, who have come to chase the Australian dream but have exhausted all pathways in life, probably had to scam their way through into the country and now scamming people within the country. I worry for Australia’s future and our society’s future.

Job time - 10 hours (8AM - 6:15PM). Actual job time estimate - 5 hour job I know the timeframe as 7 months ago, we moved with the same items and the distance was much further. We used a different removalist and they were done by 2:30pm.

very professional and I had a good experience. So I didn’t have any hesitation to choose CityMove again in 2020 when I planned to move. However, I had a terrible experience this time. My booking of arrival time is 8:00am~9:00am, but no one turned up till 9:30am, so I called -- it seems they forgot to assign people for my booking. When the movers came late in the afternoon (after 1pm); they appears very tired, they told me they did 2 jobs already that's why they are exhausted. We were fine with this delay, but they were so careless with our furniture! The most horrible thing was that lots of our furniture was damaged. Including: - Our new Blackwood display cabinet, was scratched and with a hole! - Blackwood dinner table scratched; - TV unit scratched, and a piece of wood in one of the legs was chipped and gone; - Coffee table scratched; - 2 Wooden beds scratched. (I saw they had blankets/clothes in the truck, but they didn’t use them to protect my furniture. Even after I prompted them to be more careful. They still just roughly pushed the furniture into the truck.) I reported this to them on 17th Dec 2020, but no one replied me back.

Unfortunately I was not there to supervise but they were instructed to pack and remove everything. They seemed unaware that packing had been included in the quote. They said they tried to contact me but there were no missed calls or messages. Most of the boxes were not labelled so it was a bit of a guessing game for myself and the two guys at this end as to what room they belonged in. These two guys went above and beyond. The Hobart crew left quite a large number of items behind. Most annoyingly two tv remotes which I had to replace and a vacuum cleaner. Thankfully Mark returned and removed everything that was left behind. These items arrived almost 3 weeks after my move. The Launceston guys were extremely helpful and friendly again with this delivery. The tv remotes were there but no vacuum cleaner. Why the TV remotes weren’t packed with TV’s still beggars belief. Mark is currently following up and the search is still on for the missing vacuum cleaner. To say I’m unhappy with the service from Hobart apart from Mark would be an understatement. Unlike their Launceston counterparts.
