Did the deed online, easy to perform and price was very competitive. Also changing the conditions at the end of the quote was very handy as you could change the insured value and/or the excess and get immediate costings.

motorbike that would not start. Their call centre operator was super friendly and helpful. Within less than 30 minutes from first talking to them, an assist vehicle was on the way to me with a replacement battery in case it was needed. They sorted me out as fast as I could have hoped for, and a stressful situation was made less so by the service of the call centre and the callout service. Highly Recommend.

Myself being an electrician systematically checked power sources and found blown main fuse next to relays that were checked. Replaced fuse and car is now working as it should. Gentleman was lucky to have spent 10 minutes looking at car. Very poor service and diagnosis from a qualified mechanic who was not looking interested to help.

being on the left body work does not affect the car at all. They averted comprehensive insurance for me last year. Now they won’t accept fire and’s theft. Apia refuse to insure it. It’s on the body work only and is no problem but no Apia won’t insure it. Why did they last year and not now? They did not ask about a scratch last year and who dormant have one or two on a car????? Not this car a we got out had that scratch back then. What hypocrites. Or is it because I’m not paying the substantial comprehensive now? I am so glad we stopped going to them for home insurance too. That got expensive with them so decided not to anymore. Now I will never ever deal with them again. Ever. What a pathetic reason to not give a pensioner assistance with car insurance. Absolutely disgusted in them. And judging by other reviews I see, they’re not popular. Deserves what they get. If you insure with them you might too, please please look around. They’re not top of any popularity list. And why is a proof of claim required below? To stop reviews like mine! Bypass that. Write a note stating why. Proof for me is that I couldn’t get a new insurance policy with them. Pathetic.

I wish to offer my grateful thanks to a young man at AAMI for supporting me after my car was clipped by a truck travelling south onto the harbour… Read more

bridge.

The truck broke my side mirror and I didn’t realise how bad it was until I was on the bridge itself, when the glass part suddenly fell hanging by the wires. It was also in a storm and pouring rain, and I became pretty distressed as I couldn’t pull over on the bridge. I pulled up just near Clarence Street. As it had been a very distressful 2 years for me from the sudden death of my husband and then only a week before the very tragic unexpected death of a young girl who was a huge part of our family. She died very suddenly from a heart attack, and we were all still grieving.

So I was feeling pretty vulnerable and in a bit of shock not knowing what to do. So thought to ring AAMI roadside assist to see what they might suggest. However they put me through to claims, as roadside assist is only for mechanical work.

I was incredibly fortunate to then speak to a young man with AAMI who seemed to understand straight away and was absolutely brilliant, helping me to work out “a plan” not to think of costs or any other issues but to be safe and stay focused. I the shock too was showing, as he spent a substantially long time on the phone talking with me, helped me to stay calm, and guiding me on working it all out. I cannot thank him enough as he was a gentleman and the perfect person to talk to, helping me to regain composure one step at a time.

He managed to find some people working in a local gym who he spoke to and they then came to my car and taped the mirror back in place so the car was drivable.

This is astonishing service that honours what they advertise creating trust and loyalty. Much more than just an insurance company. It’s when the world causes something incredibly distressful that just might be seen as a minor pin that drops, but you just need a guiding hand to be reassured and bring one back to being in control. I wish to thank this young man again so much for helping restore my faith in humanity after a few very tough years.

my vehicle to their repaired 40 minutes away, after complaining for 4 months, a repairer was found 15 minutes away. I took the vehicle to their repairer, but upon collection after repairs I found 3 items not fixed, the main problem was with the suspension which rendered the vehicle undriveable. It is now sitting in my garage. This was advised to Coles' friendly South African team, their reply was to lodge a complaint, 1 week later, after numerous phone calls and emails I finally found out that complaints are looked at after 10 working days. In despiration, I emailed Coles' complaints advising that I would be getting the car towed to an independent repairer to be repaired and the bill sent to Coles, to this I have not received a reply. After calling the claims again, demanding a reply, the friendly staff advised that she would send an email to the claims department and advised I may get a reply in 10 business days. I demanded a copy of the phone conversation so that I could lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsmen, her reply was that there is no phone contact, and a copy of the phone call must be approved by management, this may take 10 business days. My worst mistake was to ever look at Coles Car Insurance, I say to everyone, don't waste your time looking at their products, they are dodgy at best!

brand new parts. Had a long “Test Drive” today and felt so happy with my car. Nathan at Willmot Smash Repair is very professional, down to earth, reliable and trustworthy. He politely explained to me in details how my car would be fixed. The receptionist Summer is very nice and patient. The uber driver booked by Suncorp Insurance told me he knew Willmot is great. Suncorp Insurance is fantastic, quick to respond and easy to communicate. Flawless service. Oh, did I mention they cleaned my car? Now it’s spotless I would give the whole sky’s stars to Suncorp and Willmot Smash Repair if I could✨✨ highly highly recommended.

any claim with spurious excuses for as long as possible. After more than 6 weeks, i still don't know the condition of my stolen car or whether it is a write off. I do know that is "dirty" outside and covered in police fingerprint dust inside. Mechanical and structural condition ? Nothing. If you try to make a complaint you are sent back to the claims team, the people in the chat don't have a script for complaints either. Virgin Money discontinued offering insurance for cars and houses in OCT 2025. They clearly know they are terrible at this business and have outsourced their work to Auto &General and reduced resources to deal with their customers in this area. It took 5 weeks just to find a way to get our belongings from the car despite multiple requests.
