it to, neither were central. After the first place said they wouldn't be able to do the repairs for a few months (not because it was a big repair but because of the process and backlog of jobs) I was advised by Budget Direct to take it to the other place, unfortunately they ended up taking even longer. 1 week for them to move the car there 3 weeks to get it assessed, 3 weeks for the assessment to be approved by BD 2 weeks for a clip to ordered and delivered 3 weeks for the repairs to actually occur.

Whatever you think you are going to save using then, just know that even the most basic repair will take - a quote from BD consultant '10-12 weeks'. This is due to their process not the type of repair.

Thank you Fabian!

cable. I rang RMR and Nicole took my details and said she would call me back. Sure enough, 10 or 15 minutes later, she was back with info about the recovery, a tilt tray in about 90 minutes, coming from Coffs Harbour. The wait was boring but understandable and the trip back to Coffs V Twins took around 90 minutes. All in all, an efficiently handled rescue with Nicole checking in regular to make sure all was going well. A follow-up up call a few days later was unexpected. Highly recommended.

Last week, I called the RACQ call centre to inquire about the warranty for a battery I bought from them 20 months ago. I explained to the operator… Read more

that I had just replaced my alternator and wanted to check if the battery was still under warranty. He said the battery has a 24 to 36 month warranty period, but he couldn't confirm if it was covered until an RACQ patrol checked it.

A few days later, my car wouldn't start and the battery was dead. I called RACQ again and gave the patrol the exact same information I gave the call centre. The patrol immediately explained the warranty was void because I changed the alternator. He pointed out it is common for alternators to need replacing between 100,000 and 150,000 kilometres.

Here are my issues with this service:

1. Why wouldn't the call centre operator know and advise me the warranty was void due to the alternator change? If they had simply told me, I would have asked my mechanic to replace the battery while the car was still at the workshop. This lack of information ended up ruining my weekend plans.

2. I have bought at least three batteries from RACQ over the last few years, mostly when my vehicles were in the 100,000 to 180,000 kilometre range. I was never once advised to check the alternator. I have been replacing batteries every few years when a new alternator might have fixed the root cause. I accept this isn't strictly their duty, but it is frustrating.

I didn't get my warranty claimed, which is fair under the terms and conditions. However, I didn't buy my replacement battery from RACQ because of this disjointed experience, despite being a roadside assistance customer for 16 years.

Today, I drove to Local Batteries Super Store and had the battery replaced with one that includes a 50 month warranty.

claim was approved and repairs were authorised. After over one-week Coles contacted me and advised me that are investigating my claim after the repairs have been carried out. They have instructed an external investigation company to interview me like I’m some common criminal. When I asked why they are investigating my claim, they have told me that I made the claim only 5 days after the policy was taken out. This is ridiculous and disgraceful from Coles. On numerous occasions I asked why this investigation wasn’t carried out prior to my claim being approved and repairs undertaken. I have been given numerous excuses, the first excuse, “The Claims rep made mistake” the second excuse ‘Bot’ error. I have constantly asked Coles to show me in the PDS where it states that a claim can be investigated once the repairs have been authorised and carried out. They have advised me that it is not in the PDS, but they are authorised to do so. Absolutely disgraceful from Coles. Now they are constantly hounding me to through emails and phone calls to schedule an interview with no grounds to do so. I will not sit through an interview, while Coles has no grounds to do so. I’m starting to suspect this has to do with me being a person of colour (social media). I will lodge a case with the AFCA if Coles continue to harass me.

Long wait for tow track. Was advised it will take up to 90 minutes but it was over 2 hours. To make it worse, the operator had an attitude - told me it’s a large country and then hang up on me. Great service NOT.

on 22 February 2025 - over 600 days for Suncorp Insurance to meet their insurance obligations. They rejected my claim for compensation - difference is sale price compared to RedBook value and other costs stating I authorised a non-Suncorp repairer to repair my car. I did not authorise this and there is no evidence that I did. AFCA could not review my complaint because it did not satisfy all the exceptions to the AFCA requirements, point 4. I had sold my car at the time of their review. I had to purchase another car. Suncorp rejected a second complaint I made for non-financial loss and stress. The total legal fees and other costs to Suncorp far exceeded the cost of assessing my car as a right off (aboit $18,000).
