team made it happen.
Clear communication. Fast response times (sometimes outside of regular work hours when I wasn't expecting a response until the morning) and even taught me how to use app features to make the process as easy as possible.
It made the process of planning to get a car fun, instead of stressful, and the level of service is honestly why I have stayed with The Mutual Bank ever since I joined them more than a decade ago.
Police Bank
Evana T was extremely helpful. We've been with Border Bank (part of police bank) for 6+ years now, and have zero reason to leave. And Evana has been so helpful with our house build, with a land and construction loan. Can't recomend them enough.

plenty of banks that take less interest money from customers, which is objectively more supportive than anything Bank First can offer.
I've been with Bank First for about 10 years and have been waiting for a competitive interest rate. I even called them recently and was told that their mortgage team could offer better rates than the website but it turned out to be not nearly a good enough rate to compete with other banks honestly. They have lower/no fees and waive LMI fees, but these are small amounts compared to the what they're making with their high interest rate.
Seems like they are comparing themselves against the big 4 rather than smaller and realistically comparable banks.

clearance would take approximately 2 months and was given a specific clearance date. I relied on that information, only to have the timeframe extended to 3 months, with no notification or explanation as to why.
I was, and still am, experiencing financial hardship, which made this additional delay even more stressful and difficult.
Staff should know their job, and when customers are given specific information, especially regarding important financial timeframes, they should be able to rely on it. If incorrect information is provided, there needs to be accountability.
An extra month of waiting, on top of the original delay, caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. To this day, I still have no clear explanation as to why the timeframe was extended or why I wasn't informed. Very poor communication and a very disappointing experience.
I think “To this day, I still have no clear explanation…” is particularly effective because it highlights the lack of accountability without overstating what happened.
I have withdrawn all the funds and will not be using this bank ever again....!!

The way this bank handles support is unacceptable. I have been bounced back and forth between Live Chat and phone support, with neither team willing or able to give me straight answers. Live Chat ignored my messages during normal business hours for an entire day, only to send a single unhelpful automated message at 3:40 AM while I was asleep, followed by radio silence again.
Being made to feel like a suspicious actor simply for opening a new bank account is deeply distressing. Being locked out of my own money has caused severe hardship, and I have now been forced to escalate this entire matter to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) just to access my own funds.
Avoid this bank if you expect transparent communication or reliable access to your money.

was over I moved money to Premium Saver. Requirement to transfer $200 in to a/c but if you move interest out of a/c you have to increase balance by interest amount PLUS $200. E.g Earned $100 interest, move out then have to pay in to a/c $200 PLUS $100. This means in effect you cant draw your interest money out!!! Not clear at all in t&cs. I just lost my premium bonus interest!!! Not happy at all. Customer service was pleasant but I’m closing my a/cs to other online banks where conditions are clearer. (I have worked for years in finance)

attempted to transfer a portion back to my established external hub accounts. This triggered an incredibly frustrating loop of blocked and delayed transactions. Bankwest employs a strict security protocol where Faster Payments over $200 to a new payee may be subject to a four-hour hold, and this hold can continue to apply to subsequent payments to that same payee for up to 48 hours. While I understand the need for robust fraud prevention, the frontline chat staff seemed completely unaware of these specific rules. Because they could not clearly explain the mechanics of the delay, my wife and I experienced significant anguish, fearing our funds were effectively stuck. Furthermore, the in-app chat facility operates with a noticeable time delay—feeling more like sending emails back and forth rather than a live conversation—which heavily exacerbated the stress of the situation. On a positive note, the Bankwest Customer Care and Complaints team eventually provided excellent, thorough service. The case managers researched the technical reasons behind the delays and clearly explained the 48-hour security hold to us. Bankwest also provided a $300 goodwill gesture to acknowledge the frustration caused. However, they declined my request to reset the four-month introductory interest period, which I felt was a missed opportunity to fully make amends for their systemic communication failures. Overall, Bankwest's security systems are highly rigorous, but their frontline communication and chat infrastructure need serious improvement. Note: In the interest of accuracy and balance this review was submitted to Bankwest for comment before publication. No comments were received.

useless talking that has nothing to do with the enquiry. I get the feeling these new staff, as maquarie used to be good, are trained this way just to make you feel seperate from them. Not a mature bone in any of the custom service team. I withdrew 2k to my other bank and was blocked from my bank. So I rang them and they asked what the 2 g was for. I told them I was transferring money to another bank account IN MY NAME. But she kept asking what it was for and a bun h of other question which were all answered. I eventually had to make a story that I'm buying toilet paper, just to prove a point. Three hours later a 3 phone calls and no information at all. Just immature staff bantering about anything that doesn't make sense. Just banter.

her own money to another account. And left with only a few dollars to last for 4 days of food. Accused of being a scammer, accused of being scammed and implied i was money laundering. Asked invasive intrusive questions that were none of their business. Even the banking ombudsman agreed re the questions and agreed there was no law stating I had to answer the types of questions asked.
This was after I called the bank, told them I needed to transfer funds to another of my accounts, followed their instructions. Then followed the instructions of staff at the retail store and still got locked out of my accounts.
This is the sixth time I have been locked out of my accounts by this institution.
When I went into Heritage Bank to help close my accounts and get my funds transferred again it was asked inappropriate intrusive questions. They have actually refused to release my funds to myself and locked my cards and locked me out of the app.
So many more people since the merger of Heritage and Peoples Choice to People First are reporting they are leaving due to appealing behaviour by the institutions.
