I would not recommend this builder based on my experience. They presented grand plans for the home, I signed the contract, and paid a $5,000… Read more

deposit. Immediately after signing, I was told the plan we had agreed upon was no longer applicable due to council guidelines.

I asked what checks had been done before signing the contract and taking the deposit, and why the plan’s suitability for the land had not been verified beforehand. I requested they submit for DA approval, but they refused outright, stating they only work through CDC.

What I find most frustrating is that we spent months finalising floor plans and modifications, and at no point was I told the plan would not be approved.

When I requested a refund of my deposit, they refused, citing a “change of mind.” After months of back-and-forth correspondence, they agreed to refund approximately one-quarter of the deposit.

Please proceed carefully if you are considering this builder. Before signing, they are very accommodating, but once the contract is signed, the attitude changes markedly.

I lost my hard-earned money and regret the day I decided to go with them for my dream home.

for over a year to continue operating it as a display home. Since the property was handed over to us after the display home was closed, we have encountered many issues, including poor to appalling workmanship, unfinished work and cheap materials that have not lasted. This included an internal bedroom door that mysteriously went missing between the final handover inspection with a Clarendon Homes representative and the first tenants moving in and making us aware of this, which Clarendon Homes replaced after a protracted argument, an upstairs bath missing its drainage pipe, which caused severe leakage through the suspended floor and ceiling below into the laundry at the ground floor when a tenant used the bath and pulled the plug the first time ever, other plumbing issues that caused leakages from the first floor to the ground floor requiring ceiling replacements, various electrical problems, replacing pool fencing panels that were falling apart after only a few years, poor workmanship on the rainwater tank requiring repairs, garden bed perimeter walls cracking and splitting apart and having to be replaced, replacing the central air conditioning unit long before it should have been, etc., etc., etc. Right now, we have a repair company on site to repair cracked and leaking boards and decorative hoods on the front elevation of the house. These defects were due to cheap, poor-quality materials being used and shockingly poor workmanship on the flashing on top of decorative hoods which allowed rainwater leakage into the house. In buying a display house, we thought we were buying top quality. We could not have been further off the mark. Never again will I deal with Clarendon Homes, and neither will anybody I know if I can help it.

when it came to crunching numbers and getting estimates for things (blinds, stairs, flooring etc) so he handled it exceptionally well and we were extremely happy how accomadating he was and with the overall pricing as well.

Colour selection. Really fun day. We brought our 1 year old with us which wasnt a problem for them. Our person was really helpful and patient. Walked us through every aspect of the build and was able to provide rough estimates of upgrades while we were there which helped with decision making. Overall really happy with this experience.

Admin, oh gosh. It started out VERY rough. Everything was super slow. It seemed like we never progressed. 5 months went by and still felt like they had so much to do before we were able to get to site. After a bit of back and fourth, we changed consultants and all of a sudden things started moving!!! The new consultant was absolutely fantastic. Answered the phone, responded to emails, very efficient. Ended on a a positive note.

Construction. From day one its been go go go. The quality throughout has been exceptionally good. We couldn’t fault them through the whole build. I beleive Burbank do their own internal quality check aswell, so by the time we did our PCI, there was hardly anything to do. I mean, we nit picked with a few tiny paint touch ups but nothing that couldnt be fixed easily. We had an amazing site supervisor aswell. He answered all my calls, replied to my texts and emails. Our internal customer service person was also very friendly and provided lots of updates. We’re really happy with the level of communication throughout construction. Handover on week 27.

consultant was great and was so helpful in assisting us with designs and ideas. We chose 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and an extended garage to accommodate our large family.

Nav our project manager, and Ben our safety supervisor have been absolutely fantastic at navigating the many complexities surrounding building in general-and more so in a well-established street. Our build has faced external pressures at times, despite this Nav and Ben both ensured that construction was able to stay on track. They handled any hurdle professionally, making sure the build was conducted safely and compliantly, resulting in no negative impacts.
