When I first called I was told that I had 'pre-approval' for the loan (I am a sole trader with an excellent credit rating) and on that basis I arranged for a mechanic to thoroughly check the car I was going to buy ($320) and then put a deposit down with the dealer ($200) and signed the contract. After 2 days of giving Stratton more and more information I was eventually turned down. The person I dealt with denied saying that I had 'pre-approval' (I have a witness to this and he was on loud speaker) and also denied other things that he had said. I would definitely not recommend Stratton Finance at all. I am now $520 out of pocket all based on what I was told at the beginning of the process. They also quote a much lower figure initially and then add 2% to the greatly inflated loan rate that they eventually arrive at - from originally saying 8 - 9% to a hefty 12%. Pretty poor.

We were surprised with extra costs at settlement. It is poor form to sign a cost agreement then have it change on settlement day with no acknowledgement or receipt in writing and no explanation. Another difficulty was the enormous difference of stamp duty after the loan went unconditional. Further, on the day of our first payment, we received a letter stating our repayments have significantly increased.

They do not respond to my emails or app messages for repayment assistance. They are not regulated by AFCA either.

BCorp status and good customer reviews. Bank of Australia's system for communication and upload documents was so easy to use. Simple & plain UI which is something most companies seem to forget these days. Once case assigned it was great communication, clear requests and simple updates to their system. Alana Bremner from Lending was great to deal with and did a fantastic job! Highly recommended and will probably end up moving all my banking/loans over to them.

Seems good value. I only have one issue. Their contact numbers may not be easy in some parts of the world. You should not have to call an Australian number with the associated costs. There needs to be a free emergency number.
